Rivera, Olbermann Prove Once Again That Misogynism Is OK If You're Liberal

I just viewed this video via Michelle Malkin of failed sportscaster Keith Olberman naming her Worst Person of the Week and pushing a quote by Geraldo Rivera in doing it:

“Michelle Malkin is the most vile, hateful commentator I’ve ever met in my life,” he says. “She actually believes that neighbors should start snitching out neighbors, and we should be deporting people.

“It’s good she’s in D.C. and I’m in New York,” Rivera sneers. “I’d spit on her if I saw her.”

Now it appears Michelle has had a small ad buy which served to call attention to the quote banned by Quigo. So, Rivera's ugliness is okay for broadcast on MSNBC in another sad attempt to further demean the target in this, but it's not okay to point a finger at Rivera with his own words?

Sadly, there's a common thread that joins Olberman and Rivera if you've observed them over time - misogyny. See this on Olberman, scroll down - and Rivera's lack of respect for women and his faux macho crap going all the way back to touting his sexual conquests in a book is well known.

That these two alleged men can get away with acting as they have because, this time, their victim happens to be a conservative is distasteful, at best. That MSNBC and Quigo are all too happy to support it through their corporate decision-making is beyond distasteful - it's just flat-out wrong.

Yet, perhaps most disturbing of all, the mainstream media will likely accept it, as Michelle is a strong voice for conservative causes. Rivera's, and now Olberman's words and actions in this case should be unacceptable, no matter what your politics happen to be. That they'll mostly go without being commented upon by the mainstream media is a telling indictment of liberalism in media. They are unfair and unbalanced when it comes to covering people whose politics skew to the Right.
