After conquering space, where he spends his days and nights, wacky dictator Hugo Chavez has decided to conquer time itself. According to the August 21 New York Times, no less, Chavez is changing the clocks starting in 2008 as part of his plan to move to a six-hour workday.
The left's second-favorite dictator, after Castro, "claims that it will help the metabolism and productivity of his fellow citizens," wrote the Times in a bizarre brief.
During his lengthy Sunday TV show, Chavez was joined by Héctor Navarro, the minister of science and technology. The Times quoted him saying: "This is about the metabolic effect, where the human brain is conditioned by sunlight."
Next up, the "passionate," "dignified," and "intelligent" Chavez, as Barbara Walters called him March 16, says he wants to help America's poor and then raises the price of oil again.

August 27, 2007 - 15:02 ET by Cool ArrowHaving demonstrated his plutocrat leanings, it's not surprising Chavez would buck the wave of "scientific consensus". Of course he's as much a scientist as Al Gore.
Now he's going to "the beginning" to redefine what was originally called Day and Night.

Chavez learns nothing from French foolishness
August 27, 2007 - 17:39 ET by nkviking75Six hour workdays? Sounds as bright as the French mandating less-than-40-hour work weeks and 4 weeks of vacation, a plan they are finally beginning to abandon. I suppose that's easier than economic policies that create more work for people. This guy is going to run his country right off a cliff.
When you put the clowns in charge, especially as dictator, don't be surprised when a circus breaks out.

August 27, 2007 - 23:27 ET by jdhawkHow droll to snicker at Chavez. Meanwhile, the murdering thug is step by step stripping Venzuela of what little freedoms it once enjoyed. And, shipping his brand of sickening communism throughout Latin America. All the while, fostering ties to radical Islam.
