Matt Damon recently told an Australian paper "You guys [banned gun ownership] here in one fell swoop and I wish that could happen in my country ... And nobody's rights have been infringed, you guys are all fine." Here, the star and creator of the anti-American Green Zone uses a Chinese AK-47 derivative. According to IMFDB, some of the Bourne Hypocrite's other faves are the H&K USP, the Glock 17 and the Walther PPK.
2. Jessica Alba
Actress Jessica Alba appeared at the 2016Teen Choice Awards on FOX!, where she pushed gun control and Hillary Clinton to the under-18 set. After trotting out the families of gun violence victims, she urged the audience to use the anti-gun hashtag #StopTheViolence. Here she is in a promo for Sin City with a S&W 29. Alba is also partial to the Glock 19 and the Ruger Blackhawk.
3. Sean Penn
Interestingly, when he wasn't bad-mouthing America and cavorting with Marxist dictators and drug lords, Penn built a respectable gun collection, which he had melted down and turned to a sculpture last year because guns are, in his words “cowardly killing machines.” Whatevs. Anyway, here he is blasting away in Gangster Squad with a Tommy Gun -- just one of the more than 20 different guns he's sported in his film career.
4. Quentin Tarantino
The "pornographer of violence" (Joe Scarborough's phrase) has absolved himself and his medium from any responsibility for gun violence. “Obviously, the issue is gun control and mental health,” sniffed the director whose last film featured 32 different shootings. In front of the camera, Tarantino is partial to M11911 45 ACPs and Colt single action Army revolvers.
5. Julianne Moore
After the Rosebud, Oregon shooting, MRC Culture pointed out the appalling frequency of gun violence in movies then in theaters, and noted among other examples, actress Julianne Moore’s anti-gun Twitter activism. The Hollywood Reporter asked Moore to respond to the story: Her answer: “It is impossible to be killed by watching a violent movie, but unfortunately, it is all too possible to be shot and killed while sitting in a theater and watching any kind of movie.” Here’s Moore with her trusty Glock 17 in Hannibal. She’s also used a Ruger Mk 1, a S&W Model 65 and an M4A1.
6. Liam Neeson
The star of the Taken franchise has an onscreen body count that would make Rambo blush. But Liam Neeson is incapable of shame. “There’s too many [expletive] guns out there,” Neeson stated last year while promoting the hyper-violent Taken 3. “Especially in America … There’s over 300 million guns. Privately owned, in America. I think it’s a [expletive] disgrace.” What’s apparently not a disgrace is Neeson in Non-Stop with his SIG-Sauer, or the more than 40 other weapons he’s used in his long screen career.
