Conan Makes Fun of Evangelical Christians for ‘Hating’ Gays

Torn between fighting both Donald Trump and gays, evangelical Christians are “depressed” and out of “energy,” according to one comedian.

During his show Tuesday night, host Conan O'Brien poked fun at a popular target: Christians.

“Now political analysts say the rise of Donald Trump has made evangelical Christians feel abandoned,” he began. “Evangelical Christians said, ‘We’ve been so depressed, it's hard to get up the energy to hate gays.’”

He mocked, “Takes a lot of energy to get up for – to hate gays first thing in the morning? That's hard to do!” He added, “Before your coffee?”

In the past, Conan has ridiculed evangelicals by claiming “Jesus Had Two Daddies,” joked about Indiana’s “homophobia” or Religious Freedom Restoration Act and aired a song warning Jesus not to make a gay pass among other things.
