A hard hitting Trump rally is often the best setting to witness the Twitter implosions of showbiz personalities in real time. Monday night’s social media turnout during Trump’s El Paso speech definitely showcased some volcanic Hollywood hate.
Commander-in-chief of progressive showbiz psychobabble Rob Reiner used Twitter to hype up Beto O’Rourke’s response speech to Donald Trump’s El Paso rally, arguing that the failed senatorial candidate beat the President at the “Battle of the Border.” He tweeted, “In the Battle At The Border The Liar is a LOSER! Beto-10-15 thousand. The Liar-6,500. Go back to the WH and your stolen Presidency, turn on FOX, and start tweeting your bullshit.” Though MSNBC estimates put the Trump rally attendance over Beto’s, we won’t slam Reiner too hard for a little wishful thinking.
Hellboy actor Ron Perlman tweeted about the tragedy of Trump’s rally and how the media that were present were being harrassed by the crowd, writing, “And Jesus Wept.” And when Trump mused he wouldn’t have time for presidential pets, Perlman really took it to him and claimed that the president is “not fit to own a dog.” It’s weird to see such a well known onscreen hardass be so driven by middle school levels of pettiness and backbiting, but hey, at least it speaks to his credit as a decent actor.
Cher also blasted Trump while championing O’Rourke with her creative internet response to the El Paso speech. As though she was trying to impress fans with a showcase of baseline 2nd grade literacy, she composed her tweet with words all starting with the letter B. “Beto Beats, Bitter, Bloated, Back Bitting [sic], Babbling,Belligerent,Barbaric, Badly Bleached, Blubber Bellied, Bullying, Blowhard.” Wow, where’s a gold star sticker when you need one for alliteration?
Jamil Smith, senior writer of pop culture rag Rolling Stone, took personal offense to Donald’s glorious anti-third trimester abortion rhetoric, calling it “dangerous” for doctors and patients. Really? He tweeted, “This is one of the most irresponsible things Trump has said as president. It is a complete lie, for one.” He added that it “sounds like the kind of rhetoric that regularly puts the lives of doctors, their staff, and their patients in danger.” But nothing from Smith on the elephant in the room that it’s full term infants whose lives are in real danger of being mutilated, poisoned, or otherwise left to die. Maybe next time.
During his rally, I Love You, America comedian Sarah Silverman slammed Trump by claiming that “every single thing he says is an insanity-level lie” and, while that’s par for the course in the lefty celeb hate book, let it be known that this tweet followed an earlier one in which Silverman was just downright gross.
Several hours earlier Silverman tweeted in response to Trump’s slam of Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar, saying, “No point in explaining how mind blowingly stupid this tweet is so I’m just gonna go with FUCK YOU...”
Of course, that was just the tip of the iceberg. Silverman added, “you are a smelly penis hole with balls that touch water. Eat shit, you greedy twat.” Right. It’s amazing to think that there’s a large group of people who look up to these celebs for their political worldview. I’m sorry but anyone who genuinely admires the use of “penis hole” and insulting someone’s genitalia as political counterpoints might need to rethink their life.
