BOOM! Hollywood just dropped some truth about Hamas’ tactic of trying to get as many Palestinian civilians killed as they can for propaganda purposes in its war against Israel! On the 10th episode of ABC’s Quantico, Nimah Anwar (Yasmine Al Massri), a Lebanese Muslim, attempts to impugn the integrity of Simon Asher (Tate Ellington), an American Jew, by revealing the truth about his relationship with Israel - and fails miserably.
She announces to their fellow FBI trainees, “Simon Asher is a war criminal!” Her evidence? Simon volunteered for the IDF, Israeli Defense Forces. (We, the viewers, knew that from an episode that blamed the IDF for atrocities in Gaza, but his peers thought he visited on a service trip.)
Simon quickly sets her straight on the evil Israel faces from its enemies:
- Nimah: He spent time in Gaza. We know that. But did you know that it was in service of the Israeli Defense Forces?
- Simon: Yeah, and I was proud to serve. I believe in the Jewish homeland. They made me into a translator, sometimes during interrogations, but I did not hurt anybody.
- Nimah: You didn't hurt anyone? Really? Then who did? Who killed those unarmed civilians, shot at ambulances, targeted hospitals and schools?
- Simon: Hamas hides in schools. They use civilians as human shields.
- Nimah: I'm not defending Hamas. And even if they did this, what you have done is as wrong.
- Simon: War is wrong. I learned that firsthand in hostile territory when everyone around me was trying to kill me. You have no idea what that is like.
- Nimah: We were born in Lebanon in a civil war, and that's all we knew for the first eight years of our lives before we came here. So don't you tell me what I know.
Nimah’s character, who no doubt grew up hating Israel in Hezbollah-controlled Lebanon, equates any possible misdeed or collateral damage by the IDF as a personal indictment against Simon. She doesn’t even care if Hamas uses civilians as human shields and says he is just as bad as the Palestinian terrorists simply for being in the IDF!
Thankfully, a Marine vet (who, ironically, Simon said could be unstable because of his military service) steps in and says, “No, a soldier isn't a criminal just because you don't believe in their war, Nimah.”
Amen! Many a liberal needs to hear that.
Of course, this being Hollywood, Simon later alludes to a rogue commander torturing the wives of terrorists - "He'd snapped from he's seen over there." So, this episode was hit or miss.
But while the Mainstream Media won’t cover it, 5 million Quantico viewers just learned the truth about Hamas’ dirty and deadly tactics against Israel. I’d say that’s a direct hit.
