Nancy Pelosi's Genuine Imitation Bible Quotations

A Bible quote House Speaker Nancy Pelosi often uses to justify her environmental agenda doesn't exist, biblical scholars tell CNSNews.com reporter Pete Winn. Pelosi last cited the fictional Bible passage two days ago to commemorate Earth Day. In her April 22 news release, Pelosi said, "The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, 'To minister to the needs of God's creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.'"

A professor at Yale Divinity School tells Winn it’s not even a close paraphrase of anything in the Bible, and a professor of Old Testament at Northern Baptist Theological Seminary says Pelosi’s Bible quote is completely "fictional." A Roman Catholic doctor of scripture adds that it can’t be found "even in pieces or bits." In addition to her recent news release, Pelosi’s "verbatim" citing of the quote goes back to at least 2005, Winn’s research shows the mistake repeating:

– A 2005 Christmas message to the U.S. House.

– A 2007 speech to U.S. House Science and Technology Committee.

– A 2007 Earth Day message.

– In 2007 congressional remarks before Easter recess.

– A 2007 PBS television interview

– A 2007 speech to League of Conservation Voters in Washington, DC.

Baptist expert Claude Mariottini told Winn that he doesn't think Pelosi is either mis-remembering or mis-paraphrasing. "People try to use the Bible to give authority to what they are trying to say," he said. "(This) is one of those texts that you fabricate in order to support what you want to say."

Nancy Pelosi:Pseudo-Catholic

I don’t need some old guy at the Vatican telling me abortion and contraception are wrong, but I’ll gladly parade my sorry ass out for communion if the Pope is in town.

I hate to be the one to tell you, Madam Speaker, but you are going to rot in hell and there's nothing you, me, or your left wing nutjob friends can do about it.

There is a good possiblity

There is a good possiblity she will reside in a warm place but only God knows for sure.

Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.

re: There is a ...

After her undying support of the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco every year in which perverts in leather and less parade through the streets hassling straights and families by performing BSDM "play" and simulated sex acts in cages suspended above churches.

Oh yeah, she'll be in a very warm place when she dies.

not simulated

Nothing simulated about it. At the Folsom street fair, they have real oral and anal homosexual sex acts in the street, along with nudity and public masturbation, real BDSM (not play) and just about anything else you may or may not be able to imagine.

And people bring their kids.

And the local news media covers like, "Those swell, fun-loving gay guys had a great big street fair today with clowns and face painting."

OH, we can know where she

OH, we can know where she will spend eternity, just look at what her life produces and what comes out of her mouth. Our actions and speach, observed over time will tell you. (We all sin.I know I am not without sin myself. But thanks to God I have His grace, mercy and my "ticket" to heaven.) But in the end, if she repents before the end, she could avoid that "warm place."

Being a student of the

Being a student of the Bible I think the passage she refers to is right before "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" or  right after "a stitch in time saves nine."

"A pharisee is hard on others and easy on himself, but a spiritual man is easy on others and hard on himself." A.W. Tozer (Pharisee=modern day liberal)

exacty Rick

You know, it's all in the same book as those famous quotes "cleanliness is next to Godliness" and "God helps those who help themselves."

Liberals just make things up as they go along. It's comedy to watch.

Yes, ricklail

I believe those passages are found in the book of In a God of Da Vida

No experts needed

One need not consult theologians and experts to debunk Pelosi's invention of Scripture. A single, cursory reading of the Bible that anyone can do, or the simple task of consulting a Biblical concordance, will show Pelosi is doing what good Democrats do -- making stuff up as they go. No need for the vision to match reality. Even God -- no, especially God -- is a good subject for revisionism.

I think Pelosi should be

I think Pelosi should be more concerned about what Jesus says about people who manipulate children's faith (i.e. our Public school systems).

What's the going rate for millstones these days?

The biggest problem will be to get them to the deepest ocean. I can find a millstone.

Bible Scholar Nancy

Isn't she the same one who calls herself a Christian even though she favors abortion and same-sex marriages?

No wonder she doesn't know actual Bible scriptures...if she actually reads it, it would expose her and her extreme-left views that do more harm than good.....

St. Nancy is Now Writing Her Own Scriptures...

"Well, isn't that special!"

(Forgive me Church Lady.)

What the Bible Says

"The Bible tells us in the Old Testament, 'To minister to the needs of God's creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.'"

In the Old Testament, God is doing everything He can to get the Hebrews to worship Him and not anything that is created (golden calf anyone??).  Individual stewardship of the Earth is a good thing, but in my opinion it doesn't classify as worship.

Of course Pelosi and the liberal gang are going to completely ignore what God really says about global warming:

"Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed”  Hebrews 1:10-12

Earth is like a piece of clothing that God made and will one day fold up.  We should do our best to be faithful stewards, but God has the ultimate say about when Earth will be finished.

Has anyone, anywhere,

Has anyone, anywhere, anytime, ever asked Her Speakerness to point out where in the Old Testament she got that? Not chapter and verse, just sort of a "ball-park" description...which book, or who said it, something vague....?

You gotta love liberals and their "Do-It-Yourself Bible"....they can supply a made-up quote to support whatever they want!

Haven't y'all heard? That

Haven't y'all heard? That was one of the amendments to the Good Book that Nancy pushed through when she was annointed as Speaker and High Priestess. It is, after all, a living, breathing document.

When asked if he went to war with Iraq to derail the impeachment vote: “I don’t think any serious person would believe that any President would do such a thing." - President Clinton (Dec 1998).

It is, after all, a living,

It is, after all, a living, breathing document.

Thanks for the laugh.

Nancy Pelosi's Genuine Imitation Bible Quotations

I really think that Pelosi is Satin's sister.

Amazing...well someone

Amazing...well someone should tell Pelosi that there is also something that is truthfully in the Old Testiment...I believe in Exodus...something on a stone tablet, thou shall not kill...and ask her how she justifies supporting abortion.

She is a CINO...Catholic in name only.

"They need to have a course in college called common sense and everyone should take it. Problem is there isn't too many people that could pass or teach it." -my grandfather

which is worse

Jeesh, open intolerance and hate mongering. You'd think Pelosi had no hope. If you look around the corner on another thread the pious decry talking down Negroes.

It's the "Liberials" Bible

"I said it, that makes it so"

Incredible the arrogance of some on the Left and far Left.
