NYT Quotes 'Retired Cuban Leader' Castro on 'Idiocy' of GOP Field, 'Had Reason to Be Annoyed'
Who cares what an unelected dictator thinks about the U.S. presidential campaign? Well, New York Times reporters do. Michael Shear and Trip Gabriel were in Miami following the campaign in the runup to next Tuesday’s Florida primary and quoted Fidel Castro in Thursday’s “Candidates Scramble to Win Hispanic Voters in Florida.”
They even suggested the dictator (who they merely called “the retired Cuban leader”) “had reason to be annoyed” at threats voiced by Republican candidates Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney.
After noting that Cuban-Americans were “a force in South Florida’s Republican politics,” Shear and Gabriel quoted the Cuban dictator, and described his 50-plus-year dictatorship in the blandest possible terms:
As the Republicans appealed for votes among Cuban-Americans and other Hispanics, one person who said he was not enamored of the field expressed his distaste: Fidel Castro, the retired Cuban leader whose 1959 takeover prompted the exodus of Cubans to South Florida.
“The selection of a Republican candidate for the presidency of this globalized and expansive empire is -- and I mean this seriously -- the greatest competition of idiocy and ignorance that has ever been,” he wrote in an opinion piece in state-owned news media.
He had reason to be annoyed. In Monday’s debate, Mr. Gingrich said he would authorize covert actions to bring down the Cuban government, while Mr. Romney cited the Jan. 19 death of a Cuban prisoner, Wilman Villar Mendoza, in calling for maintaining a tough policy toward Cuba. The candidates also discussed whether the 85-year-old leader would go to heaven or hell.

Can you imagine Castro and der Schlickmeister in a gab-fest??? Talk about whoppers!!! And there's no way that Boy BlahBlah could break into that rank - he's waaaaaaaaaaaay too much of a lightweight, even though he loves to talk - but he's a freshman compared to those two.
Of course, he could bring them coffee and cigars, and try and learn something from the real pros!!!

...worn out their Castro kneepads by now.
Maybe Raul sent them some new ones.
As for Cuba, the fact that this communist hell-hole has been allowed to exist 90 miles off the coast of Florida for six decades virtually unmolested should be an embarrassment to true freedom-loving Americans everywhere.
It's the communist equivalent of a Muslim trophy mosque.
That place should have been the world's largest golf resort by the late 1960s.

thank St John F Kennedy the Divine that is isnt.
I remember when St JFK was elected. Everybody said, He'll never let the Berlin wall stand, he'll chase Castro out of Cuba and free the people. Neither happened.

Was Ron Paul a Kennedy adviser?

I think St. JFK the Divine actually presided over the construction of the Berlin Wall during his term.
And the same St, JFK the Divine was so totally humiliated by Kruschev at the Bay Of Pigs that Russia was emboldened to follow with ships filled with nuclear missiles.
Well, we've seen what

Well, we've seen what Castro's 'idiocy' has done to Cuba - although LardAss Moron might disagree, but he can charter a cargo jet to fly his corpulent corpse down there when his arteries finally clog up for good. And as for 'annoying' somebody - I think those Cubans who live in Florida are pretty 'annoyed' with Castro, as well as a helluva lot of poor souls who never got out of there.
Funny thing about those Cubans, Killa.

The vast majority of Cubans in South Florida who are here as a result of the actions of "the retired Cuban leader," (sounds like a real sweetheart, doesn't he?) are very conservative. Even if they don't personally remember what happened because they are too young to have lived it, their parents and grandparents have never let them forget it.
They are well aware of the devastation caused by Communism, and they don't want to see that Shiite in the USA.
We also have a huge population (for this little island) of kids from the former Eastern bloc countries in Europe. Talk about a bunch of conservative attitudes! Talk to them in glowing terms about Obama and his push for socialism, and they will kick your ass. They are quick to tell you what they and their parents experienced under communism and the USSR. They literally despise communism, and they despise Obama. If the democrats ever figure out that those immigrants will never vote Democrat, they may cut off their immigration completely and focus solely on taking in Mexicans, Middle Easterners, Africans, and Haitians.
Ever wonder what the MSM will start referring to Hitler as? Maybe "the deceased former leader of Germany who led his people to greatness after WWI, before he was ousted by imperial American actions"
I think we can thank that

I think we can thank that great 'Liberal Lion' - Ted 'the swimmer' Kennedy - for downsizing the number of 'white' immigrants coming into our country and increasing the 'oppressed races'. Of course, it's really had a positive effect on our country, hasn't it?? But as long as they stay dependant on the system, and vote Democrat, then it's a good thing. I noticed that you didn't mention Asians, who - as far as I can tell - generally work hard and do a decent job of keeping things together for themselves and their families. Tell those Eastern Europeans to keep up the good work and spread the word..............I can imagine them pissing off some dopey liberal, who would be offended that some 'immigrant' would be trying to educate him about something like that.
One of my sister-in-laws is a Nicaraguan, whose family had to flee the country during the Sandanista communist takeover. She's worked hard and is successful. And DON'T start talking trash about the USA - she'll tear you a new one!!! You think Jan Brewer gave the petulant prick some grief yesterday - he's lucky he never met my brother's wife!!!

This is the line of attack
Submitted by ThePickle on Fri, 01/27/2012 - 3:42pm.
This is the line of attack the MSM wants to use, in freaking FLORIDA of all places? Do they think that all the Cubans in Florida are going to rise up as one and DENOUNCE the GOP because they "annoyed" Castro, a man that most in Florida consider only one rung down from SATAN in the hierarchy of Evil?
Yeah good luck with that line in Florida.
Dumba$$es.
