NYTimes Again Finds 'Far Right Wing' of GOP; Yet to Locate Democratic 'Far Left Wing'
New York Times political reporters Jeff Zeleny (pictured) and Jim Rutenberg teamed up on Tuesday for a preview of the possible presidential head-to-head matchup Obama vs. Mitt Romney: “As the Primary Campaign Grinds On, Romney’s Team Prepares for Obama.” But they felt the need to put a metaphorical finger on the scale with a negative description of the GOP.
The easy treatment of Mr. Romney has also allowed him to avoid getting mired in promises to the far right wing of his party that could turn off independent voters in the general election. “There’s a little eye-rolling when we think a candidate missed an opportunity,” said Brad Woodhouse, the Democratic National Committee spokesman.
According to Nexis, this marks the fourth time in the last five years that the paper has used the phrase “far right wing” to describe a U.S. political figure or party (there are several references to “far right wing” parties overseas). In contrast, during that same time frame the phrase “far left wing” has not been used a single time by a reporter to describe a political figure or party.

The NYT couldn't find a "far-left" wing of the Democrat party if it occupied the White House.
Barack Obama is, and always has been, a "centrist."
According to the media, there are only "normal" people (liberals) and far-right extremists.
This is also why you hear the phrase "moderate Republican" but never "moderate Democrat."
It's taken for granted that ALL Democrats are "moderates."

Hell, they can't even find 'left leaning'. Anything right of their far left views is reported as neo-con.

That the Republican Party has been hijacked by the far-right? Oh my, it doesn't get any more delusional than this one.
But then again, I've always noted that you people actually think that anything not far-right is "far-left".
Just once I'd like to see your commenters leave their partisan dittohead hats at the door and walk into these discussions with an open-mind, argue the point honestly and objectively, and try doing so without the usual hate-filled grade-school name-calling.
I know I've been hammered for my blatantly partisan comments - but I am intentionally playing the "When in Rome do as the Romans do" game - just to highlight your "problem" and show what would happen if progressives decided to "fight fire with fire". Fortunately for us both, most won't stoop that low.
You are the perfect leftist sto'bought seminar poster

You've got it all wrong. It's not that they are "blatantly partisan", we've come to expect nothing else from you, but it's becaue they are completely devoid of facts or truth. Your posts are viewed here as little more than comic relief, but also as a reminder of what we are fighting for.....and against.

Still trash talking while attempting to claim the high road? Good luck.
What is far right?
Extremism in status-quo? Maybe. But that would prevent the detrimental changes that you on the left are saying that the right demand.
Religions adherent to Biblical doctrine? But I'm a conservative and by most responses it appears that I would be far right and biblical doctrine only applies to my life choices to the extent they shape our society as a whole.
Is the far right represented by lifestyles of the Mennonites and the Amish? If that is true then they are truly a minority and actually live akin to the lifestyle proposed by the far left environmentalists.
Are the Constitutionalist the extremist? The people who demand that we live by the structure that created our nation could be considered the far right. After all, anyone wanting the power of the nation to be in the hands of the people and not the government must be loon.
Free Markets? From an economic standpoint this may be true but it has long been understood that while economics may be the indicator of a society it can not be the sole characteristic of a society. Therefore there is no such thing as a completely free market in the social make up of society except in theory.
While often denigrated to a personal level the far left is simply the extremist of socialist thought in Fascism and Communism. I've never fully been able to establish an understanding of what would constitute far right. Perhaps you can enlighten me?
