NYT's Calmes Ignores Hoffa's 'Take These Son of a Bitches Out' Tea Party Attack
New York Times reporter Jackie Calmes spent Labor Day with President Obama in Detroit, who spoke at a heavily union rally featuring speakers from organized labor. One of them, Teamster President Jimmy Hoffa, used just the sort of militant rhetoric against the Tea Party that would certainly have been condemned by the Times if coming from Sarah Palin, Rick Perry, or any other conservative politician or activist. Yet Hoffa was completely absent from Calmes’s Tuesday story, “For Obama, a Familiar Labor Day Theme.”
What Hoffa said: "President Obama this is your army!...Everybody here has got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong."
But Calmes didn’t even mention Hoffa’s presence as one of the rally’s warm-up speakers:
Labor Day must seem like the movie “Groundhog Day” to President Obama. On Monday, for a third year he celebrated the holiday that honors workers with union members and their families in a political swing state, promising job-creation measures to reduce a 9 percent unemployment rate and calling on the Republican opposition to “put country before party.”
Mr. Obama, speaking to a riverfront crowd estimated by the police to number 13,000, said he would propose “a new way forward on jobs” in his speech on Thursday to a joint session of Congress, which returns this week from its August recess.
Calmes certainly emphasized the rally’s union label, which makes the Hoffa omission even more odd.
And almost three years into the Obama presidency, Calmes still won’t hold Obama responsible for the woeful U.S. economy, and once again insisted against evidence that the stimulus is working.
Flying here with Mr. Obama were several union leaders, including Richard Trumka, president of the A.F.L.-C.I.O., who has been critical of his compromises with Republicans.
Also joining Mr. Obama was Senator Carl Levin, Democrat of Michigan, who, as Mr. Obama told his audience, gave the president a Labor Day address that President Harry S. Truman delivered in Detroit in 1948, the year of his come-from-behind election after campaigning against “do-nothing” Republicans.
Afterward, Mr. Levin said he told the president, “Here’s a ‘give ’em hell’ kind of speech.”
The president’s Labor Day addresses trace the stubbornness of the crisis he inherited.
In 2009, he spoke to an A.F.L.-C.I.O. picnic in Cincinnati, just after the government reported 216,000 jobs lost in August -- relatively good news because it marked a second month of declining losses from a high of 750,000 as Mr. Obama took office. Six months earlier, in February, a Democratic-controlled Congress had passed his two-year, $800 billion stimulus program of tax cuts and spending.
“It’s working,” Mr. Obama said then. Most economists agreed, though many have since concluded that the package was not forceful enough to counter a recession and crises in the financial and housing sectors. Republicans, who generally opposed it, continue to say that the stimulus program failed and that they will not support another round.

After the obnoxious liberal

After the obnoxious liberal whining the main stream media was doing after it was discovered that Sarah Palin used a target sight graphic depicting winnable seats, it is curious if she had said what Hoffa did if the media would be as silent as they are now?
Perhaps some number-crunching is in order.

Perhaps Hoffa's thugs are itching to become Obama's "civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
Perhaps that's already coming true.

But if Bachman or Palin or god forbid, Perry said something like this, or one of their associates did, before a speech by them, it would be FRONT PAGE HEADLINES! The libs dont fool me, just amaze me!
Hoffa Kisses Butts....

Hoffa kisses the butts of the very ones who put his dad in prison. His dad told the Democrats a long time ago that no political party or politician would own him. He commented to RFK after the JFK assassination that "Now you're just a plain lawyer". What difference!
"Old Soldiers never die, they just fade away"!
Mr Hoffa-did your Father not get-"taken out"

Living in Cleveland for most of my life-when someone "gets taken out"-his car was blown up. or he was killed and left in the trunk of his car. The Teamsters did this on a regular basis. John Nardi-Shondar Burns both victims of a Teamster War. Is this, because i am a Tea Party Supporter, through Freedom Works-you are going to do this to me? If i am a target-I assure you i will not sit back and wait for you or one of your goons to harm me or family-i will take an aggressive stance to protect me and my family. War you want war-trust me, plenty of ex-military men are Tea Party Supporters-who will not sit still and let you harm them or families. As a now old man-survived-i will survive. No matter what the cost. How about the rest of you Tea Party Supporters.
I will ask the FBI and US Marshals to pay special attention for my family. The rest of you should do the same.

Did Obama disapprove of Hoffa’s incendiary message? Apparently not; he mentioned Hoffa only to say that he is proud of him. But, what the heck: he sat through “God DAMN America” for twenty years without protest, so I guess he can put up with Tea Party “sons of bitches,” too.
Of COURSE he ignored it. He

Of COURSE he ignored it. He didn't think he heard anything wrong. Fantasies about raping, killing, murdering, stealing their political enemies is as normal as breathing air for Liberal Democrats.
Why should the NYT libutards report about something as mundane and understandable as breathing air?
The problem is with conservatives

We still are trying to live in a civil society with rules. Liberals have only 1 rule: If you don't agree with me, you are (expletive).
There is no way to deal with their arrested adolescence; they love to be "potty mouths" and to try to shock and anger you. They are the ones who understand hate speech, because they use it. Suggest that one of the first order of businesses is to do away with all "protected class legislation" which runs from preferences to hate crime speech. What liberals cannot stand is to be on an equal footing with everyone else. They think they are SO superior.

exact words, the NY Times would in no way ignore it. Instead, it would be blared all over the first page, the second page and however many pages are in the NY Times nowadays. The mainstream media is no more. It is now the "yellow" stream media!
It never ceases

It never ceases to amaze me, it never ceases with these folks, how low they can go. Each day, it's a new bar level. Raising the bar doesn't apply, they haven't done that for anything. But they are consistently lowering it.
And any time you think they hit bottom, they dig a hole to go that much deeper.
Scum.
