NYT's Paul Krugman: U.S. Students 'Could Learn A Little Bit' From Violent Protests in UK, France
It’s not quite leftist academic Frances Fox Piven calling for violent Greece-style riots in America. But in an interview with the University of Oklahoma’s student newspaper (he was in town February 22 for a talk), Paul Krugman, respectedeconomist turned partisan liberal New York Times columnist, suggested American college students should pick up some tips from students in London and Paris about fighting public spending cuts.
The Daily: You mentioned how children and students suffer from cuts to public agencies. What advice would you give students to impact the political scene?
Krugman: “Well, you know, maybe we could learn a little bit from British students or French students who actually demonstrated against these cuts. What happens, we’ve got actually in America, the seniors are very noisy. Everybody knows you don’t dare cut programs for the elderly, so let’s cut programs for the youth. If we can change that, then we’d do a little better.”
And what exactly would we learn from British and French students? Violent protest tactics, for one.
From a December 10, 2010 Times report during the riots in London that Krugman suggested American students emulate:
But violent student protests in central London, including an attack on a car carrying Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, to the theater, provided a stark measure of growing public resistance.
From an October 22, 2010 Times report from Paris headlined “French Leader Vows to Punish Violent Protesters.”
Referring to several days of clashes between the police and protesters in Lyon, which continued on Thursday, Mr. Sarkozy said the ‘troublemakers will not have the last word in a democracy, a republic.’”

If our media were responsible, this is what would have happened: The ferret-like Krugman would have said what he said, and then the guy sitting with him would say,
"Mr. Krugman! You say American youth could 'learn a lesson' from the protestors in the UK and France! But the protestors in the UK and France turned violent! Are you calling for Americans to resort to violence, is that what you want? You want violence and death and destruction, is that what you're saying Mr. Paul Krugman?'
Then Krugman would splutter and stammer and hem and haw and say 'No, no of course not - no one wants violence...'
"But Mr. Paul Krugman - you just said you WANT americans to do what the people in the UK and France did, and they did violence! You're calling for violence Mr. Krugman, how can you justify that?'
Then Krugman would say, "You're taking my statements out of context, you're not smart enough to understand how brilliant I am, you're secretly being paid by Fox News...'
'Mr. Krugman, are you now saying that you didn't mean what you just said when you called on Americans to use violence? Is this a confession that you are wrong, that you made a mistake??'
Oh, if ONLY....

I wouldn't have this assklown balance my checkbook.....He's an idiot who's obviously never owned a business or written a paycheck. I remember dropping out of Business 101 on the first day in college when the Professor said nothing I would learn in class could be used in the real world. Why would I pay for that? Why would anyone pay Krugman is the $64,000 question.....

If indeed this idiot wants our young people to respond to difficulty the same as those in the UK or France, then there are things our young can learn. It better be firefighting, CPR, and First Aid.

At one time Krugman made reasonably coherent if leftist commentary on econonics.
Now he appears to advocate more and more outrageous positions up to and including here, where he calls for violent agitation by the nation's youth to protest funding cuts.

Just like the leaders of the Taliban and al qaeda, who ask young kids to strap themselves with a suicide bomb, Krugman wants the young men, women and children of America to do the dirty work which he does not have the cojones to do himself!
