New York Times Lectures on Civility Only Apply to Republicans, Apparently

By Clay Waters | January 19, 2011 | 09:47

Metaphors are only acceptable in the hands of trained New York Times journalists:

“Republicans say they do not intend to change the name of the proposal, titled the Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act. Some Democrats have suggested that the ‘job-killing’ language was particularly offensive after the shootings, but Republicans rejected that notion.” -- Congressional reporter Carl Hulse, January 14.

“In deference to the new vows of civility, the tone of the debate may be a bit more restrained. But Republicans have already said that they will not strip the word ‘killing’ from the bill -- which is titled, ‘Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act.’ Civility apparently goes only so far.” -- Times editorial, January 16.

“Where News Is Power, A Fight to Be Well-Armed” –- Headline from the January 18 print edition of the Times.

Meanwhile, no word from the NYT on MSNBC and Ed Schultz who "ain't backing down!"

No one has told me to tone anything down. No one's, I have not gotten a directive from the president of MSNBC. I have not gotten a directive from anybody associated with this radio show. So, today I'm announcing, it's still Ed!

Nobody has told you to tone it down Ed, because your superiors all know that nobody is listening.  Funny how that works.

When the Demcons wielded power, they STEAMROLLED us! No cries for civilty from anyone. Now the tables are turned, and the wining throughout the land is, "can't we all just along!" If the Repubs show 1 ioda of weakness here, lookout for them!

What a convenient bit of luck the Tucson murders turned out to be for the fading power of Democrats. They truly have no morals.
