NYT Columnists Who Blamed Conservatives for 'Right-Wing' Killings Ignoring Fort Hood Massacre

  • Bookmark and Share

Back in June, liberal columnists at the New York Times lined up to link conservative talkers Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh to James von Brunn, the 88-year-old man who killed a security guard at the Holocaust Museum, and the murder by Scott Roeder of abortionist George Tiller.

Columnists Paul Krugman and Judith Warner both weighed in on June 12.

Krugman’s “The Big Hate” blamed Fox host Bill O’Reilly’s rhetoric (“Tiller the baby killer”) for the Tiller murder, as well as Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, for contributing to the dangerously toxic atmosphere.

Warner’s online entry, “The Wages of Hate,” read: “You can't accuse Beck or Limbaugh of inciting violence. But they almost certainly do stoke the flames.”

Frank Rich also blamed O’Reilly for the Tiller murder in his Sunday column, "The Obama Hater's Silent Enablers," two days later.

Bob Herbert came in late, on June 20, referring to the killings as “right-wing, hate-driven attacks” and also blaming “over-the-top rhetoric of the National Rifle Association.”

So how did these professional hand-wringers treat another incident of violence, this one even more tragic: A mass killing of 13 people, many of them soldiers, at Fort Hood in Texas by a Muslim Army major shouting “God is great” in Arabic?

They’ve ignored it.

As of November 13, eight days after the Fort Hood murders, neither Rich, Krugman, or Warner have mentioned the massacre, much less Hasan’s radical Islamic beliefs. Only Bob Herbert devoted two sentences to Hasan on Saturday, using the killings as a leaping-off point to talk about post-traumatic stress suffered by veterans home from Iraq and Afghanistan (even though Hasan hasn’t even seen combat).

I'll go first, then

The communists who write for left-wing publications and websites are obviously responsible for the atrocity perpetrated by a Jihadist at Ft. Hood last week. They should all suffer beheading, or in accordance with Sharia law, stoning for the women. (I just made that last part up, so if you are a Sharia law scholar, don't bother to respond.)

"James von Brunn, the

"James von Brunn, the 88-year-old man who killed a security guard at the Holocaust Museum"

The guy was a leftist, registered democrat, "9/11 was an inside job" whackjob! He was stoked by the likes of MSNBC/CNN/networks & their BDS propaganda.

That's about

as impressive a paint job as the media did on Jim Jones, atheist bible-hating, egomaniac who was a rent-a-protest-mob for the SF liberals for years.

So how is a rabid troofer stirred to violence by Limbaugh and Beck.

Oh gosh, sometimes I put

Oh gosh, sometimes I put stuff out for consumption and people don't understand that I am just a facetious smart-a**. Quasi, what is a 'rabid troofer'? Is that someone who puts shingles on a dog house?

I was kidding about the be-heading and stoning thing, at least for right now.

It's a way of saying

"truther" without the "truth" part.

And the question was rhetorical. I pretty much knew you weren't making that connection, and yet the libs did.

I prefer "troofer" also.

I prefer "troofer" also. Because it's not truth, it's troof.

OK, Quasi

Thanks for defining the term. I like it, and it's been added to my lexicon. Next, I'm looking for the equivalent en Espanol, so all Americans can use it.

MSM

I can hear the crickets now..............Oh, wait, they're trying for an angle on how it's still all our fault.

We have just entered "THE TWILIGHT ZONE!!"

I really dont understand what the "drive by media" is trying to accomplish by not stating to facts that Hasan was a terrorist. What do they gain by not admitting that? What underlying current does it serve? I dont get it I guess we have just entered the twilight zone! check out this write up on Liberals its awesome. click here http://thedailyzing.com/334/7-habits-of-highly-defective-liberals/

If it's terrorism

then the slogan "George Bush kept us safe for 8 years" has more play.

Let's hope Hasan shouts

Let's hope Hasan shouts 'Death to the infidels' and 'Praise allah' over and over when he is in front of a judge. They can't ignore him forever. Or can they?

Write your Congress and Senate and tell them what YOU think!

Keep the ILLEGALS out, join NumbersUSA to send free faxes to your reps.

Add DHS and Napolitano to that list

Remember the April 2009 Dept of Homeland Security report titled, "Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment" worrying that military veterans joining right-wing groups might cause trouble?

Hasan doesn't fit their template either.

                  ~~save your tea, dump congress~~

Thank you.  I have been

Thank you.  I have been waiting for someone to raise that issue.  Kerry, Murtha, Krugman, Rich, NY Times/LA Times, NBC/CBS/ABC, Pelosi, Obama et al cried:

1.  Atrocities by our soldiers;

2.  Holy war;

3.  Our soldiers acted like NAZI's;

4.  The war is illegal;

5.  Bush lied and innocent civilians died;

6.  War for oil;

7.  Illegal war & war crimes; and

8.  etc

 The fact that muslims hate us not not surprising as our media was more than happy to join in with this condemnation.  The killer at Ft Hood lived in the US and was probably brainwashed by these people into blindly hating the evil war criminals.  A good case could be made that this caused his criminal actions.

Liberals...

I think the libs hate themselves so much that if there were a way to teach them to stone themselves to death, they would actually do it.

You just can't have that much hate, without hating yourself too.

If it's violent behavior as

If it's violent behavior as in school shootings, mall shootings, WTO riots, Race riots, 'didn't like the verdict' riots or what have you.

Look first to the liberal idealogy of the perpetrators.  Violence is the first avenue of liberals, and the last choice for middle of the road types, which puts them rascally Conservatives way down the list of people most likely to cause societal upheaval and unrest.

Here come the trolls, here come the trolls.... la la lalala, here come the trolls.

I've Never Really Gotten This, Either...

You usually want to bring these people to justice based on what they did, not because of what they believe. I would love to see a joint execution between Khalid Sheik Mohammed, Scott Roeder, Major Nasir and that pro-abortion guy that murdered the pro-life guy Pouillion, I think. There is no excuse for murder based off of political reasons, ever. Lynch the sonuvabitch terrorist murderers equally with all contempt.
