Hard News? NYT Runs Three Gossip Items on Palin Wardrobe

After putting it on Thursday's front page, the New York Times was still harping on Gov. Palin's wardrobe and who picked it out in three I.Q. melting stories in Friday's edition: "Wardrobe Mysteries Linger..." by Michael Luo and Eric Wilson, "...And a Whiff of Clarity" by Luo alone, plus a Metro section story.

In "Clarity," Luo tried to nail down the role in this grand conspiracy of one "Lisa A. Kine."

The F.E.C. records showed a "Lisa L. Kine" was reimbursed for more than $2,000 in charges, including those made at Pacifier, as well as others at Macy's, the Gap, Steinlauf & Stoller, a sewing supply store in New York, and Oshman Brothers, for "tailoring supplies." The New York address listed traces to Lisa Kline, not Kine. Could this be the mystery stylist for Ms. Palin?

Luo explained that Kine was reimbursed $2,000 in charges for purchases made at various stores, including Pacifier, a children's boutique in Minneapolis owned by Jon and Wing Witthuhn, "where records show two charges of $98, one at Pacifier's downtown location and another at its store in the northeast part of the city."

In its Palin campaign mockery, the august Times even lowered itself to quoting a blog, which resulted in this polished nugget of journalism, perhaps worthy of the gossip blog Gawker, appearing in the pages of America's most prestigious newspaper:

The blog, daddytypes.com, fueled the speculation by e-mailing the Witthuhns a video of Ms. Kline, and Mr. Witthuhn said he was "pretty sure it's her! CRAZY!!!"

Mrs. Witthuhn said today that her husband was "85 percent" sure but not 100 percent.

Is this still "All the News That's Fit to Print"?

Metro section reporter Tina Kelley (with two other reporters contributing!) piled on with the deathless story, "G.O.P. Shopping Spree Includes a Little Sewing," which occupied an unhealthy tranche of the Metro section.

It included three photos of two places in Manhattan where someone from the campaign evidently purchased sewing supplies. Kelley, not at all melodramatic, claimed that this shows the GOP reaching "into the shadowy side streets of the garment district or Chinatown."

But the party also spread the wealth, or at least let it trickle down. It spent $181.91 on Sept. 25 for "tailoring supplies" at Oshman Brothers, at 88 Eldridge Street, in Chinatown, according to records filed with the Federal Election Commission. The manager, Elaine Leong, did not recall the purchase on Thursday, but said it most likely went toward thread, shears or needles. She said that if the party had bought the lining-type fabric that the store is known for, it probably would have run up a higher tab.

Don't you feel more informed now?

It is no different In Canada

The New york Times is tame in comparison to the Toronto Star Print edition. This is the only city in the entire country that did not elect a single conservative candidate in our last election. The entire province is now Blue ( Conservative colour in Canada) and there is this Red ( Yes Liberals are Red in this Country- Fitting huh?) blot called Toronto. BTW, a Province like Ontario is Huge. Sparsely populated, but you could fit 4 of Texas into it. The Star (Fish Wrapper) run daily indictments of anything Conservative. Runs mocking articles that make the NYT hacks look like children. They had a huge thing on the Clothes the next day. Below the fold Front Page. I would remind you all that the conservative media is far more advanced within the US than Canada. They ban Books like Liberal Fascism in parts of Canada based upon the demographic breakdown of the population. You are all going love the Social engineering freekshow that IS BO. He make Trudeau seems moderate in comparison, and Trudeau actually met with Castro and called him a Friend back in the 70's. That is why all the idiots up her travel to that hole year after year.

Liberals used to be called "red"

in the U.S. Does anyone know when the colors were changed? Was it the liberal editors that got together, was it a P.C. thing or was it a "New Speak" propaganda decision?

CANCON...I have friend

CANCON...

I have friend up there is Canada, and few years ago I went for the first time to visit him on his ranch. He owns a little over 800 acres of some very nice Canadian soil, but he uses it for grazing. Anyway, I'm a amatuer geologist and professional rock hound, so while I was there I asked to go ride his property to look for minerals. What he told me shook me for a moment... He said I could look, but could not take because in Canada the government owns all mineral rights.

To an American... thems fightin words! When you buy land here your buying air space above your property, the surface of the land, and the minerals and/or water under your land. The Canadian way would never work here, thankfully!

Hey, THERES GOLD UNDER THEM HILLS

Clear Thinker. Kind of like Moon rocks eh? I would have to check on those Mineral rights. I am just not familiar enough with that. But then again, if the US thinks that they have National Parks, have a look at Algonquin National Park on a map and ask yourself. Why would any Government need to appropriate that much land early in it's existance? Or have a gander at what they did with some of that land In Quebec, a lttle thing called, Hydro Quebec. It is one of the main sources of power for New York State and sends back over 5 Billion a year directly to that provincial Government, not the Feds, so that they could waste it on usless spending for the whole country, no, just for them. That is another reson why the people in the Oil sands of Alberta are pissed. Get ready for it,,,,, Equalization payments. Obama has plenty of those on deck. Not always equal in reality BTW.

The State of Hawaii OWNS all mineral rights too.

Mineral Rights

All mineral rights are reserved to the State, including
controversial claims to geothermal energy rights. The Department
of Land & Natural Resources does issue mining leases on a royalty
basis.

Name me a time, any time in History where the state had the opportunity to profit from the Individual and " did not take the money"? Name one, anyone?

ucw...Maybe I should

ucw...

Maybe I should have put a caveat in there somewhere. There are some states, and municipalities that keep the mineral rights. For the most part though, out in fly-over country, you buy the mineral rights along with the land.

Any young people out there thinking about buying property should always look into this aspect of your purchase. Buy land with mineral rights intact, water rights intact, and whatever you do, don't buy land with any type of government buffer zones. Also make sure that nothing hidden has been put in the contract about "grandfather clauses". If you see them don't just trust your attorney, research them! Class is over. You may now go back to fighting off the hordes of mindless liberals.

We bought 2.5 acres near San

We bought 2.5 acres near San Diego, Ca. to build a house.  Before we could close escrow we had to sign a waiver for the mineral rights. We had no choice.  We were told we have no rights to the minerals, but we shouldn't care since we weren't zoned for that anyway.  sheesh!

Oil?

Are you saying that that show about the old guy finding all that oil under his land and moving to LALA land was not really factual after all? Jeez, disappointed!

He didn't find it here... I

He didn't find it here... I bet there is some though.  I would be happy if we drilled and just hit WATER!

sheryl... Have you put in a

sheryl... Have you put in a well yet....I know what you mean...it is costly per foot....our story here is something else...we hit water at 44 feet...but we are on an old lake bed...and nothing but pure fine silt came through, what a mess that was, driller had to come back in the dead of winter and drill until he hit pure water....we ended up going down 187 ft. pulled it up to 185...but lord it was costly.

Anyway...good luck...and I hope you don't have to go down too many feet....

We had a well when we built

We had a well when we built the first house.  It wasn't too deep though.  When we hit water we decided to just go with it rather than spending more and risking losing what water we had.  But then there were some major wildfires, and I don't know what the connection was, but afterwards (our house burned down) we replaced the pipes and pump and everything and no water.  So we will eventually dig it deeper and see how it goes, but it costs alot and we don't have the money for it right now.  (So we buy water and have it delivered and it is costing a fortune)  The neighbors have wells though so I know it is down there somewhere.

Sheryl... My heart goes

Sheryl...

My heart goes out to you...I too have lost a home to fire...

I also am originally from the high desert in Ca. and also lived in San Diego for a brief time...I still have some property in Ca. the water where we lived, near where I was raised has zilch for water...my grandfather had to go miles up a canyon to pipeline it down from a spring...as kids we all fixed the inevitable leaks that would happen every year to the pipe, we took inter-tubes and cut them up in strips, bailing wire and pliers, climbed the mountains every year to fix the leaks...good memories really...

Before he got ill he had a well-rig that he had situated where he thought there was water...unfortunately nobody in the family followed up on his investment of the well-rig.

I wish you luck...I know it has to be costly for water...that is eventually what my grandmother had to do for water to fill the tanks, was buy it...what is funny, later one of my brothers became a Waterman...lol..he delivered water to customers too in the area we were raised.

Water is gold in some parts of Ca. and we treated it as such.

Do you know how

hard it is to find anything to write about? We're so busy here trying to hide real issues related to the OBAMA campaign that we have to fill the front page up with, "SECTION 4 STYLE NEWS", just so we can bury the real stories in section 4.

NYT Priorities

Here is only one of many reasons why the NYT and other liberal news outlets are smearing Sarah Palin:

Question: What is America’s first line of missile interceptor defense that protects the entire United States?
Answer: 49th Missile Defense Battalion of Alaska National Guard.

Question: What is the ONLY National Guard unit on permanent active duty?
Answer: 49th Missile Defense Battalion of Alaska National Guard

Question: Who is the Commander in Chief of the 49th Missile Defense Battalion of Alaska National Guard?
Answer: Governor Sarah Palin, Alaska

Question: What U.S. governor is routinely briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counter terrorism?
Answer: Governor Sarah Palin, Alaska

Question: What U.S. governor has a higher classified security rating than either candidate of the Democratic party?
Answer: Governor Sarah Palin, Alaska

Security Rating.

you mean to tell me Obama actually has one?... Damn, then I must have one too and I am Canadian.

Gossip

I don't read those gossip things. Tell me, have any of those rags (NYT,etc.) ever mentioned how much better Sarah looks in a pants suit than the pants suit lady herself?

NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"

Security Clearance

I seriously doubt if Obama has any kind of security clearance. In order to get one, he would have to be vetted, and since most of his political life has been spent associating with the likes of Ayers and Rezko, no government agency in its right mind (assuming any government agency has a mind) would issue him any kind of clearance above "Confidential," which is virtually nothing. You'd have a better chance.

Barack Obama, media-made

Barack Obama, media-made man.

AND...AND ..... the DNC convention Greek Columns COST how Much ?

Inquiring NON MSM minds wanna know . .

This is keeping BHO off the Front Page ?   Far out, Dude....

Is this just sad or what?

Of all the issues being bandied about by the hyenas in the media, the cost of candidates clothes seem to be the least.

I doubt it will cost the McCain campaign any votes, but the Obama campaign has a plan of daily bringing up these ridiculous stories (come on, needles and thread?) hoping that some will stick and the media are so in bed with "The One" that they will keep repeating them.

It's no wonder that the media is held in such low regard! They are as pathetic as the slime slingers in the democrat party.
