In Saturday's "Attacking Obama's Associations," New York Times reporter Michael Cooper reviewed a John McCain campaign ad emphasizing Barack Obama's ties to controversial Chicago political figures like the radical Bill Ayers and the felonious fundraiser Tony Rezko. He wasn't impressed, which is no surprise from the McCain-mocking Cooper. But did Cooper really compare domestic terrorist Bill Ayers to shady financier Charles Keating? Why yes, yes he did.
But first, Cooper confidently claimed that
--the effort to tie Mr. Obama to Mr. Ayers is overstated. Mr. Ayers, who is now an education professor in Chicago, did host a coffee for Mr. Obama's first run for office, and serve with him on a charitable board, but the two men do not appear to have been close, and Mr. Obama does not appear to have expressed sympathy for Mr. Ayers's past radical actions.
"Do not appear to have been close" is a familiar phrase to Times readers. And is "radical action" a strong enough phrase for planting a bomb in the Pentagon?
Cooper saved the worst for last when he compared the terrorist Ayers to financier Charles Keating.
SCORECARD With Mr. McCain and Republicans slipping in the polls as the economic crisis spreads, they have begun to attack Mr. Obama's character in the hope of, as one McCain adviser put it, "turning the page on the financial crisis." But such a tactic carries its own risks because Mr. McCain is not without his own questionable associations. As a member of the Keating Five in the 1980s, he was rebuked by the Senate for "poor judgment" after he met with regulators investigating one of his major political donors, Charles H. Keating Jr., who later went to prison after his savings and loan collapsed, at great cost to taxpayers. There is also the risk that such attacks will be seen as petty at a time of a national economic crisis.
Cooper also ignored what his own paper admitted in 1999 -- that as the only Republican involved in the Keating Five, Senate Democrats were not about to let him off the hook.

The Ayers/Obama connection actually has significance for Today. They were connected to ACORN which is directly culpable in the banking fiasco, and is currently engaged in vote fraud. Plus, Ayers has never renounced his anti-Americanism, and Obama has never, credibly, denied his association with him.
But, of course, the NYT thinks the people are idiots, just waiting to lap up every pile of crap they spew out - sadly, too many are.

I dont remember anyone saying Obama had to do with any bombings or that they were best friends. The Obama campaign & the MSM seem to guide their viewers to that angle, while the real story is whether they share the same ideolgy (which they do).

This is not about guilt by association, but what kind of integrity, honesty and accountability will the next president have, and what kind of circle of advisors will he have. So when we look at Obama's "circle" in the past, we see a very "ugly" past, which clearly indicates Obama is not presidential material, despite his elitist sounding rhetoric.
1) he was really born in Kenya and his mother did not meet residency requirements, so the Hawaiian birth certificate she obtained for him makes him illegal to become president under the Constitution, and he is in fact an illegal alien, because he (knowingly) never applied to be a naturalized citizen (all according to current lawsuits)
2) at an early age he was educated at a Muslim terrorist style school (which speaks mountains about NOT being safe from al Qaida with Obama as president)
3) attended an ultra-liberal, "hate-America" college (but loved the president of Iran, Israel's sworn enemy)
4) attended a "hate-America" church for 20 years (which begs the question: Does Obama hate American and is really out to destroy it despite his rhetoric?)
5) political career started in the home of a man who bombed the Capitol & Pentagon, etc, who he had worked closely with for 4 years (Do I want as president a man who obviously condones murder, attempted or otherwise?)
6) tens of millions in charitable donations designated for educational programs were used by him to bribe politicians instead (So does he give a damn about education, except perhaps to spread his message of "hate"?)
7) funneled tens of millions into ACORN, currently under investigation for voter fraud conspiracy in 21 states, with 4 convictions already, and more probably coming (Is this not the tactic of a communist, to steal and election through blatant election fraud?)
8) close association with the convicted felon Rezko, who got Obama a "sweetheart" house deal (And he calls it a "bone headed" relationship? Ha! How about "birds of a feather flock together?"
9) close association with the "crook" Raines, who got 90 million to screw taxpayers in connection to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae (Will Obama choose appointees to screw us some more?)
10) gave a pep rally speech in Kenya for his Muslim cousin, who murdered about a few thousand, raped and killed women and children, and even burned people alive in a church, and displace 500,000 from their lands and homes
11) currently is receiving, illegally, millions from foreign donors to his campaign for president (Is that not virtually a conspiracy to overthrow this government through the election box?)
12) provided funds and support to a racist, black-supremist by the name of Farakhan (How can Obama care about white-America, when he is good friends with a black racist?)

I believe the NYT know all this information and is hiding it or rationalizing it in its stories. I believe the NYT wants this country to be run by a "thug" (or does not care if is), who runs around with terrorists, criminals, crooks, communists and other low-lifes.
I believe the NYT lacks integrity, responsibilty, accountability, honesty and otherwise does not deserve this country. Countless soldiers have bled and died so the press could tell the truth, and I believe that NYT is "toilet paper" and its a "traitor" to this country, because I believe they are trampling on the backs of those soldiers by the way they lie about McCain and hide the truth about Obama.
