New York Times reporter Adam Nagourney's front-page story on Friday, "Obama Raises Level of Attack As Party Frets," tipped its hand on one part of Barack Obama campaign's strategy: Relying on turnout from its loyal supporters in the press.
By every indication, Mr. Obama's aides underestimated the impact that Mr. McCain's choice of Ms. Palin would have on the race. Mr. Obama and his campaign have seemed flummoxed in trying to figure out how to deal with her. His aides said they were looking to the news media to debunk the image of her as a blue-collar reformer, even as they argued that her power to help Mr. McCain was overstated.
Can you imagine McCain aides relying on the news media to debunk Obama's image as a political savior?

So why is it "Ms." instead
September 12, 2008 - 15:04 ET by AeroSpearSo why is it "Ms." instead of properly identifying her as "Mrs." ?

September 12, 2008 - 17:02 ET by bradbenj5952It's obvious, the MSM wants to turn off traditionalists on the right by identifying Governor Palin with lefty feminists forms. Why is is that they don't use her official title in such references? Next they'll be calling here Ms. Sarah Heath-Palin without her consent.
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house." Acts 16:31
IMHO it shouldn't be either
September 12, 2008 - 17:05 ET by BuffNBoneIMHO it shouldn't be either really. As a sitting governor, more properly it should be "Gov." You use "Ms." when you don't know the marital status or the woman has expressed a preference for "Ms.".
If this is the terminology he prefers then in reference to the Dem ticket, he should be using "Mr. Obama, Esq." and "Mr. Biden, Esq.". But then again that would remind us plain folks they are both lawyers.
The only thing worse that I can think of would be to have some association with the media. Does the media have titles yet, or are titles just reserved for professionals?

Yeah, in this race we have 3 "Senators" and one "Ms." Sarah should call them on it. Next time someone calls her "Ms." she should say, "That's Governor, please... or Mrs." with a smile.
THEN you'll see some stammering... and it won't be just Obama!

There is no doubt that Obama
September 12, 2008 - 15:25 ET by mostlymoderateThere is no doubt that Obama & Co. is waiting for the media to pull some strings in his favor. Afterall, isn't that why he is where he is today? It isn't like the man has done anything himself that is noteworthy.
For the same reasons the media breeds interest in dolts like Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson, the media has fostered any interest in Obama, regardless of his lack of substance.
Media's Duty to Expose Lies & Inform Public

McCain: Mayors & Governors Do Not Have National Security Experience! Then why did he give us Sarah Paliin?

McCain has a duty to let the Media ask her questions so the public can make an informed decesion on this ticket, since he has chosen her to be his V.P. nominee.
Who's running for POTUS?
September 12, 2008 - 21:38 ET by WingletDriverLast I checked, it was McCain v Obama for President. So let's compare their foreign policy records? I'm sure BHO has tons of it from his time at ACORN.
Oh yeah, Tony Rezko is Syrian. Maybe BHO can bring that up.
As for foreign policy experience, admittedly, GWB had none (or very little) prior to being elected. Bill Clinton had none. GHWB--CIA and Veep. Ronald Reagan--none. Carter--none. Gerald Ford was not elected to either the Presidency or Vice Presidency, but I don't think he had much. Nixon--tons as VP for Ike. LBJ--some. Kennedy--none. Ike--tons as Commander of ETO.
If you look at this list, I think it is far more important to look at the foreign policy philosophy of the person you're electing than their experience. I'm not a fan of Clinton or Carter (appeasement) or Nixon/Ford (realpolitik).
But Reagan was brilliant and the elder Bush had Maggie Thatcher to steel his spine.
So rather than compare BHO's lack of experience against JSM's (or Biden v Palin), let's look at their philosophies and judgement. Even the Dems know how bad they look if you do that, which is why they're attacking the second line of the ticket despite the fact that their top line has no experience either.
The media also corrects his
September 12, 2008 - 15:48 ET by kgThe media also corrects his "misspeak" too. The media has been campaigning for Obama for a very long time now. If Obama is elected the media will help him run that as well.

September 12, 2008 - 19:19 ET by Indiana JoeYeah, he cites his "leadership experience" running his campaign, but how much has he learned with the MSM carrying his water all the time?
What happens when the training wheels come off? Who's going to explain to a Putin or an Ahmadinejad what Obama "really" meant to say?

September 12, 2008 - 16:04 ET by Dee BunkWoo Hoo! This will be a good one - I'm glad she's giving her next one to Fox. This interview will be like the kind Obama gets from all the other media.
Hannity to interview Palin

Hi BT - it better not be fair ; )
September 12, 2008 - 16:26 ET by Dee BunkI want an adoring interview like the thousands of one's Obama has had. She deserves something nice after how nasty the press have been to her.
I was thinking that she should schedule a Europe and Middle East trip to see if all the media outlets sent their top anchors.
Obama never met with a Foreign leader until his recent boondoggle. What a joke that Gibson made that some sort of negative for her when Obama has no real experience with foreign leaders either. Just photo ops in a campaign.
