Anti-gun Hypocrite Sean Penn Uses 'Cowardly' Guns in New Shoot-em-up Action Flick

Sean Penn's gun collection got the heave ho earlier this year after he fell for anti-gun activist Charlize Theron.

The actor famously dubbed guns “cowardly killing machines,” turning his own gun collection into art work in the process.

Now, Penn is prepping his latest film, a revenge saga with guns a-blazing according to the film’s new trailer.

“The Gunman” casts Penn as an ex Special Forces op forced to resume his killing ways when his girlfriend is captured. If that sounds “Taken”-esque, perhaps the 54-year-old is eyeing a Liam Neeson-esque turn to his Oscar-winning career.

The plot elements teased in the trailer look shopworn, to be kind, but the cast could make most moviegoers take the film seriously – Javier Bardem, Idris Elba and Ray Winstone join Penn for the mayhem.

“The Gunman” hits theaters March 20, 2015.
