MRC's Bozell Mourns Loss of M. Stanton Evans

March 3rd, 2015 3:05 PM

I am saddened to learn of the passing of my friend Stan Evans. His contributions to journalism and public policy are numerous and notable.

Stan’s legacy will live on in those he knew and inspired. His drafting of Young Americans for Freedom’s Sharon Statement in 1960 and his leadership of the American Conservative Union serve as reminders of the vibrant beginnings of the conservative movement. I was honored to present him with our 2010 William F. Buckley Jr. Award for Media Excellence.

What his friends also knew was that Stan Evans was one of the funniest men in America. We will miss his extraordinary sense of humor.

On behalf of the Media Research Center, I offer my deepest condolences to his family.
