Bozell: NBC Fires Another Producer in Fake Zimmerman Audio Scandal, But Still Hasn't Come Clean

By Brent Bozell | May 03, 2012 | 13:42

Another head has rolled behind NBC’s iron curtain as the troubled, so-called "news" network continues to drop the guillotine on those responsible for the deliberately misleading edits to Zimmerman’s 9-1-1 call.

NBC has now fired three people from two different offices over at least two different edits of George Zimmerman’s now infamous 9-1-1 call prior to the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. Both edits were clearly designed to portray Zimmerman as a racist while raising tensions in an already volatile situation.  This latest firing from NBC once again goes unexplained.  NBC’s actions vindicate the Media Research Center’s original point that NBC's two-sentence (non)apology was an insult, and that this is a network out of control.

The truth has been withheld from NBC’s own viewers now for more than one month.  Do the network executives at NBC think that this is acceptable? What about the board and shareholders of Comcast?  Is it acceptable for a news organization to consciously and constantly lie to its viewers?

Despite Steve Capus, NBC News president, admitting they "probably" should have apologized on-air, NBC still has yet to do so. Even the local NBC affiliate that doctored the clip has fired the offender and apologized and retracted on-air.

Many questions are left unanswered and NBC will be held accountable for its actions.  Own up to your dishonesty, NBC; tell your audience the truth for once and for all.”

nbc will never "make good" on their horrible reporting. After all, they get their reporting straight from the WH and placed into their teleprompters to lie and bash all things Conservative. That "show" last night was a perfect example of nbc. williams and the WH doing as much as possible to make sure their man is elected. It is a total shame and disgrace! Wonder if these journalists realize they are being used or are just plain stupid

The Truth?

Submitted by sherlock1 on Thu, 05/03/2012 - 2:03pm.

NBC can't handle the truth! The truth is that they have been corrupted by their desire to be shaping the thinking of the public, instead of offering the truth to a thinking public.

Where's the proof?

Submitted by Kingfish17 on Thu, 05/03/2012 - 2:23pm.

NBC "firing" employees without telling us who they are firing, is similar to trolls who post at NB and don't back up their phony claims without providing links!

When your local NBC affiliate

Submitted by Free Stinker on Thu, 05/03/2012 - 2:23pm.

When your local NBC affiliate goes to the FCC to renew their license, bring this up as an example of the station Harming the public rather than serving it.

Love to see it

Would be nice if the Judge in the Zimmerman case, when the trial starts, would announce that any reporter from NBC and it's affiliates will not be allowed in his courtroom.

It's only because...

Submitted by P. Aaron on Thu, 05/03/2012 - 2:34pm.

...they got caught. In the old media days (IE:Rodney King video days) NBC would have gotten away with it.

So NBC...

Submitted by c5then on Thu, 05/03/2012 - 2:51pm.

You would have us believe that three relatively low-level employees are soley responsible for the editing, distribution and approval to air for the two seperate videos that were editied to give a false representation of reality?

Really? That is what you are going with? So the Senior Editors and Producers and on-air anchors as well as Vice-Presidents, etc. have absolutely nothing to do with what gets put on the air?

I wonder if some of the shareholders of Comcast might be wondering why they are paid so much money, if they in effect have nothing to do.

gone are the days....

Submitted by Barabbus on Thu, 05/03/2012 - 3:31pm.

For all you younger NB fans out there, keep in mind that what you are seeing is a network that got so used to being able to do this kind of crap for DECADES, to so many people they wish to destroy, that they just can't stop. Even though we're in an era when things can be verified for it's veracity within hours. THEY CANNOT STOP! It was sooo easy, for so many years, that they keep attempting regardless. No contriteness, no apologies, no shame. Just a very sullen; "maybe" we should have apologizied. It's nothing less than evil.

NBC?COMCAST

Submitted by mmilesll on Thu, 05/03/2012 - 3:41pm.

If you hate all the NBC, etc stuff and have Comcast, you are supporting NBC. Roberts family owns Comcast and they are big nobama supporters. I dropped Comcast not just for political reasons, but their service sucks

Shameful reporting.

Submitted by burnadams on Fri, 05/04/2012 - 9:13am.

Haven't these reporters ever heard of Google? No matter how the media elite love to bash blogs and alternative sources of media, they still have the uncanny ability to do a better job reporting than the professionals.

A video of how it must gone down in the news room: :-)
