Bozell: It's 'Hilarious' CNN Suspended Roland Martin for Inoffensive Tweet; Maybe 'Lefty Loons at MSNBC' Can 'Scoop Him Up' Now

By Brent Bozell | February 08, 2012 | 17:23

Brent Bozell's picture

Editor's Note: Earlier today, CNN suspended contributor Roland Martin for some tweets he made regarding the David Beckham underwear ad that ran during the Super Bowl. Martin was the target of a pressure campaign from the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). What follows after the page break is NewsBusters publisher Brent Bozell's statement.

What's hilarious is that these "homophobic" comments are among the least hateful things this man has tweeted. Ever. If CNN were smart, they'd take this silly GLAAD hysteria and use it to their advantage. Kicking Roland Martin off their air permanently and relegating him to TVOne would be the smartest possible business move. Plus, it would allow the lefty loons at MSNBC to scoop him up which is where he really belongs.

Pretty lame stuff here, BUT you can easily see his intent was to mock people as wearers of pink clothing as gay or fags.........

Which is funny coming from "Rotund" as he MAKES up stuff when it comes to what people say about African americans as something like "the guy is really smart" and Rotund would find away to make it be racist if it came from a white, Republican and especially a white Republican male.

This could NOT have happened to a bigger and the rrrrrrrrrock means BIGGER POS.

Submitted by drsamherman on Wed, 02/08/2012 - 6:04pm.

Gee, I am so surprised that Roland Martin is a hypocrite and a bigot. He goes into Shakespearean-style monologuing when he is in front of the camera pushing his drivel about conservatives and Republicans being racists, homophobes and bigots, but then he turns around and engages in the exact behavior of which he accuses others of displaying. Just another liberal coward and pig.

tame Phil, and that's the delicious irony of it. These are the people who hear racial dogwhistles on Black Friday. And sadly, I get great perverse pleasure when it comes back to bite one of these knuckleheads. There is someone I used to read here on NB whose tagline referred to political correctness as the picking of of a turd by the clean end, and that's exactly how these blockheads have come full circle. They're cannibalizing themselves now, and we've got a ringside seat.

one better. My husband has been working out of state for 6 months. He called me today, at a totally unexpected time to tell me he'd be coming home. The reason? He'd been handed a form written totally in Spanish, and when he had the wtf? response, he was told they had run out of the forms printed in English................so, since he does not speak Spanish, he wrote on the form "This is America, you need to provide me forms in English", he was terminated and escorted off the work site for discrimination...........this is a cross my heart and hope to die story. He's on his way home from Tennessee now (and I never knew that was a predominantly Spanish speaking state). So if anyone knows a good lawyer, please let me know. Truly I'm delighted to have him home, but this is just freaking unbelievable.

Sometimes decisions are based on, or opinions formed by, how we perceive things; which isn't necessarily how things really are.

It appears that MM may have jumped the gun as a result of reading that you are conservative and your husband is a liberal - now  there's a situation that clamors for a huge sense of humor.

Hope it can be worked out.

Between you and MM, I mean.   :o)

My 2 cents...

Submitted by QMCS on Wed, 02/08/2012 - 10:14pm.

I think I actually have to weigh in on this one.....
Let me start by saying I've never actually watched this guy mainly because I dont like CNN, however that said i actually have a problem with this because...
-Everyone in this country has a right to free speech, even the jerks we don't like.
-The comments he made were not on air at CNN there were tweets on his personnal account, and yes I know all about the arguments about reflecting on his employer but have we as a nation become so stupid that we don't even allow independent thought?
-If someone disagrees with his thoughts than by all means, call him out on them and make him defend them......don't fire him because he used his first amendment rights.

As much as I can't stand the people on CNN and disagree with most things they say, they still have a right to say it no matter how stupid it is and if we let the speech police muzzle them, what are we going to say when they come for us?

Dear Prez, the village called, they want their idiot back.
