Bozell Column: Let's Kill Cain's Campaign
One might think from the breaking news that a woman has claimed she had a 13-year affair with presidential candidate Herman Cain that someone is being seriously exposed as a hypocrite. That would be the press. The media can’t deny they continue to display a lousy double standard. For Republican candidates, scandal news is instant. For Democrats, it’s eventual, if at all!
Ginger White’s charges sound a lot like Gennifer Flowers in 1992 saying she has a 12-year affair with Bill Clinton. So many in the press pounce on Flowers as unequivocal evidence of the media’s sense of balance. After all, they will remind us, just look how we covered that scandal!
Yes, look. Because it’s a wonderful exercise in media disinformation. Political junkies remember that Flowers held a press conference carried live on CNN on Thursday afternoon, January 23, 1992. It had all the elements for snappy news. She played audio tapes of phone conversations with Clinton. Despite all this, the first network mention was a brief mention by NBC’s Lisa Myers – more than 24 hours later. Other than that, the three broadcast network morning and evening newscasts waited to breathe the name “Flowers” for four days.
And then they dismissed the scandal as a non-scandal. On ABC, anchorman Peter Jennings (who had four wives) set the tone: “At several stops today, talking about Gennifer Flowers, Governor Clinton denounced what he called ‘trash for cash’. And there appear to be quite a few people who agree.” Jennings declared a quick ABC poll found only 26 percent wouldn’t vote for an adulterous candidate. “But our polling unit points out that at least half of those people who said no are Republicans and unlikely to vote for Governor Clinton anyway.”
The networks rewarded Clinton with all this tolerance because, as liberal journalist Hendrik Hertzberg explained at the time, reporters loved Clinton’s potential: “[T]hey think he would make a very good, perhaps a great, President. Several told me they were convinced that Clinton is the most talented presidential candidate they have ever encountered, JFK included.”
Herman Cain is the polar opposite of Bill Clinton to these people. Political reporters consider him an under-educated buffoon, and as a black conservative, possibly self-loathing to boot. So there are no reasons to delay adultery charges. In fact, they should be rushed on the air, followed by sneering political death notices.
“NBC Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams was the first network anchor on the scene. This is the same anchorman that just expressed great joy and delight that NBC will be blessed by a woman with zero journalistic experience named Chelsea Clinton. Williams oozed on CNN that Chelsea was “super smart and worldly and curious,” an “impressive, impressive woman” with a “very, very unique viewpoint.” Grovel, grovel, grovel.
But here’s what’s sick. Ginger White makes an adultery charge against Cain and she’s on NBC within hours. But when Juanita Broaddick accused Chelsea’s father of raping her in a 1999 Dateline NBC interview, then-anchor Tom Brokaw never allowed one single second of her voice to break into the NBC Nightly News.
By morning, Cain was dismissed as a political corpse, or a ghost. On ABC, anchor Robin Roberts suggestively asked, "Do [White's] shocking revelations spell doom for his troubled campaign?" On CBS, political analyst John Dickerson proclaimed, "It's hard to see how he
comes back from this...At the worst, it's a death blow to the campaign."
But NBC’s Chuck Todd was the most colorful, citing movies: Now we're in sort of ‘The Sixth Sense’ mode. Everybody knows this candidacy is basically dead except the campaign.” Todd then suggested he wasn’t so much a ghost as an object: “I think that Cain is not necessarily hurting the field anymore. He's become a sideshow. It's almost a shiny metal object at this point.”
These death notices may be entirely accurate, but that’s not the point. What is salient here is that Cain’s scandals have been covered aggressively from Day One by the same media that summarily refused – and to this day refuse – to cover allegations against Bill Clinton that are a hundred-fold more serious.
To my knowledge, the only TV reporter to ask Clinton directly about the rape charge (twice) was Sam Donaldson. Did it not send red flags skyward when both times instead of denying the charge, Clinton referred the matter to his attorney?
Night after night and morning after morning, the broadcast TV “news” makers demonstrate their “journalism” is carefully managed and manipulated into tidy packages designed to provide the maximum political benefit to liberals and the maximum political damage to conservatives.
Why am I not the slightest bit surprised that a Washington Post employee is tweeting over the Internet: “Hey Tweeps: Looking for utlandish/incorrect predictions and quotes from Newt Gingrich’s past. Any ideas for me?”
Newt, it’s your turn.

Coulter nailed the culprit last week. It's Axlerod.
Remember Joe the Plumber....?

He was just some guy minding his own business in his driveway when Barack Obama came up to him and Joe got him to say how he was going to spread everybody's wealth.
Within 24 hours we knew every detail of his life as all the network anchors sneered how he didn't even have a plumbing license so how dare he speak to Obama with such disrespect.
The media literally tried to destroy the guy but he was too clean to touch.
The best they could come up with was he had some outstanding tax liens.
The open contempt they had for him had an odor that came through your television screen.
I remember how CNN's Rick Sanchez absolutely despised Joe and he made no secret of it and practically called him some bum right on TV.
That was how the state run media treated somebody who made their home team candidate look bad.
If they ever did that to Ginger White she would have to go into hiding.
Instead she will be a media darling for a week.
As expected

The media is scared of Herman Cain because they know he will beat Obama and end their love affair four years short of eight.

And then there's John Edwards.........

The tone set by the MSM when Jennifer Flowers made her revelation was that it was published in a tabloid, therefore not newsworthy and probably not reliable.
But along came tabloids pointing out the follies of John Edwards and once again the MSM put its collective head in the sand.
This time, though, it turned out to be what the libtards call a "a serious charge".

MSM covers and fights for the Dem candidate. It's as obvious and blatant as ever now, especially so since Cain is an accomplished black conservative. That can't be tolerated any more than the potential first woman VP might be an accomplished conservative woman (Palin). So there's no subtlety about it anymore....destroy, ridicule and ruin. Honestly, I can't listen to the likes of Williams without throwing up in my mouth. Him and his ilk (MessNBC particularly) are a cancer on the profession of journalism, and the US of A as a whole.
On that Flowers affair ...

Don't forget Bill and Hillary appearing with Steve Kroft on 60 Minutes where he displayed his slippery use of words and language to deceive the American people.
Example:
Kroft: I'm assuming from your answer that you're categorically denying that you ever had an affair with Gennifer Flowers.
Bill Clinton: I said that before. And so has she.
Anyone with at least half a brain knew when Clinton was deliberately miseading people but, of course, the media marvelled at Clinton's ability to lie so smoothly and effortlessly.
Cain may or may not be telling the truth but the media don't care either way as long as the smear sticks.
Unfortunately none of this is news

Herman Cain scandal: This just shows how he's unfit to be president. Character counts!
Bill Clinton scandal: This is a personal matter between him and his wife. It doesn't affect his ability to govern. Oh look, those women are all trailer trash anyway!
That's pretty much all there is to it, and all there will ever be to it. If anyone but Romney starts gaining traction, every one of them will be destroyed one by one until only Romney is left.
Then when Romney goes up against the Anti-President, they will turn their guns on him. The end.

Did you notice that every one of these bimbos are white? Has anyone checked their party registration? I'll bet everyone of them are liberals and more than likely Democrats! To me this is racism and I still support Mr. Cain, even if he doesn't get the nomination.
One other thing, everyone is pointing to his gaffs. Have you ever stopped to thing how many more gaffs the teleprompter prez would have if he wasn't coached and he didn't have his sacred prompter present?
Cain is the victim of a racist media, a racist DNC, and a bunch of racist bimbos owned by the DNC and coached by Dimwit Asselrod!

If this were true, it was perfectly acceptable for a white redneck from Arkansas to conduct himself this way and still be President.
But a black man? no way.

I really hope he decides to stick with it and gives the media the treatment that Palin and Gingrich do - that is, call them on their bias.
If he decides to quit, then quitting is enough reason for him to be unfit for the Presidency.
So I guess it is safe to say that...............

NBC News and their cohorts at Politico & M.S.S.R. (MSLSD) assassinated a black conservative male's political campaign with much delight in doing so. AND THEY HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SAY THE RIGHT IS RACIST??????
