On Jeopardy, Chris Matthews Ludicrously Claims He Finds Facts First, Then Forms Opinion

What is a ludicrous answer for $800? The response from Chris Matthews when a naive Alex Trebek asked him on Jeopardy!: “Do you approach it from the point of view of I have an opinion about the subject that’s going to be discussed today, or you have your researchers look into that subject and then form an opinion?”

Matthews, host of MSNBC’s Hardball where he consistently spews left-wing views and ridicules conservatives, replied: “Here’s how I try to do it. Ready? Fact, analysis and then opinion. That’s the best way to do it. Report the news, figure out what it means, then figure out your attitude is about it. That’s how I do the show.”

He’s quite an unintentional comedian.

Audio: Matching MP3 clip

Matthews was a contestant on the Monday, May 14 edition of Jeopardy’s “Power Players Week” recorded in Washington, DC back on Saturday, April 21. CNN’s Lizzie O’Leary and former Obama  White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs rounded out the group.

Earlier: “After Repeatedly Mocking Palin for What She’d Do on Jeopardy! Matthews Comes In Last”

In a bit of banter with the contestants, Trebek asked them each a question. His exchange with Matthews:

ALEX TREBEK: Chris, I’m curious. You host two shows. Do you approach it from the point of view of I have an opinion about the subject that’s going to be discussed today, or you have your researchers look into that subject and then form an opinion?

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Here’s how I try to do it. Ready? Fact, analysis and then opinion. That’s the best way to do it. Report the news, figure out what it means, then figure out what your attitude is about it. That’s how I do the show. So right before I go on the air, I write my close to the show, you know, Let Me Finish with this. I write that right before going on the show, having gone through all the notes that day, all the arguments with the producers. So it is sort of reflecting all the thought I put into it and the work.

Well, I haven't watched the Leghumper in a LONG time..............but it appears that he's only gotten worse with his opinions and his approach to the news. So I'd say that he has it TOTALLY backwards!!! He has an opinion on whatever news story he is going to cover............and the only time he will use the facts is if they may help to back up is opinion. And if they DON'T help him..........then he will just change them, since 'facts' are an 'evolving process'!!

Folks, you haven't heard the last of 'evolving' yet!!!! If Boy Baraka can use it - then it WILL become part of the lexicon of the StateRun Media!!!

family. As you know, Chris Matthews is one of many on his side who have been diagnosed with a mental disease. He seems to be progressing faster than expected, so unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, he may have to go into a facility sooner than expected.

Matthews may be in luck, if he is able to get into one of the newer facilities. I've been told that the newer facilities have masseurs that give really good leg rubs for tingling leg syndrome.

The question should have been:

"Do you spin the facts yourself, or do your researchers do that for you?"

I have watched Matthews enough lately to know that this is a lie. He is a liberal first and foremost. He has NEVER let any fact get in the way of his liberal outlook. If he believes what he says, then he is delusional. Otherwise, he is just a liar.

Ok Crissie, here's a fact. You are an arrogant a**hole.

Now, form an opinion about that.

Ready? Fact, analysis and then opinion.

Submitted by Conservator on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 12:10pm.

Fact - Obama is the leftist messiah that gives me thrills up my legs.

Analysis - Lefty Democrats are always correct. Republicans always lie, then the wingnuts, like Hannity and Limbaugh, try to defend the indefensible.

Opinion - Democrats Good; Republicans Bad

Makes sense to me...................

I wonder when was the last time he acually gathered any facts. He has staff to do that. They get their facts from Media Matters. That has been proven.

I heard he screwed up the first question,,

Alex asked him his name, and he said Chris Matthews, and Trebek told him that since he didnt phrase it in a questuon, he is incorrect. Then Matthews said,"Chris Matthews?"

The Loss of Credibility

Submitted by FAIRTV on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 2:59pm.

Matthews has shown his true colors. He is not a journalist. By displaying slavish devotion to Obama and demeaning himself with absurd comments he has sacrificed all credibility. He is just another disgraced former journalist who bowed down to the PC mountain and made himself a laughingstock. So sad.
