Gawker’s ‘Fox News Mole’ Reveals FNC Staffers ‘Blackballed’ as Conservative ‘Nuts’ by CNN

Joe Muto, the self-described “weasel,” “traitor” and “sell-out” who for a few days last week was the “Fox News Mole” for Gawker.com until FNC identified him, disclosed on CNN’s Reliable Sources that he tried to leave the network but was unable to get hired elsewhere because the rest of the cable news industry “blackballed” him since they presumed anyone who worked for Fox News is “a nut.” Not very tolerant.

Muto, an associate producer for The O’Reilly Factor until Wednesday, told Howard Kurtz “I sent out dozens and dozens of resumes. CNN must have gotten twenty resumes from me.”

But, “I was blackballed within the industry, that people, hiring managers, see Fox News on your resume, and they say ‘this guy’s a conservative, this guy’s a nut, we don’t want him in our organization.’ I was completely blackballed within the cable news industry after working at Fox News.”

Audio: MP3 clip

(From TV Newser: "Fox News Mole Reveals Himself as 8-Year Employee, Worked on ‘The O’Reilly Factor’”)

Kurtz noted Muto's revelations didn’t “seem to amount to all that much” and got him to confirm he was motivated by politics. Kurtz observed: “It sounds like you were just uncomfortable with what you see as Fox News’ conservative leanings.” Muto affirmed: “That’s correct. I think there is a lot of -- as has obviously been stated repeatedly in the media -- there’s a lot of right wing bias at Fox, and the way they’re slanting the news, I just couldn’t take one more election cycle where they’re on complete attack mode against the Democratic candidate.”

From the April 15 Reliable Sources:

HOWARD KURTZ: So, Joe, if you felt so uncomfortable with your situation at Fox News, why stay there and draw a paycheck for eight years?

JOE MUTO: Nope. I tried to leave many, many times. I sent out dozens and dozens of resumes. CNN must have gotten twenty resumes from me, and the truth of the matter is I was blackballed within the industry, that people, hiring managers, see Fox News on your resume, and they say ‘this guy’s a conservative, this guy’s a nut, we don’t want him in our organization.’ I was completely blackballed within the cable news industry after working at Fox News.

If it is Gawker, You've got a Left Wing Hack

This dude published a photo of Bill O'Reilly with a topless woman that looks flamingly fraudulent on Gawker. This dude claims to be blackballed? I don't think so. Gawker BETTER PRAY that the photo they published IS IN FACT AUTHENTIC or else they are gonna get their asses sued.

He couldn't get hired by CNN because they think he is a Fox News nut...?
Maybe they just did not like him.
Sending twenty resumes doesn't help either.

It is laughable that he say he could not take somebody slanting the news so his solution was to go to CNN of all places.
Yeah...no bias there.

Mr. Muto, perhaps you need to re-examine yourself?

Submitted by UpNorth on Sun, 04/15/2012 - 7:37pm.

Maybe the other "networks" don't want to hire you, because they've seen your character?

Maybe they feel that, if you'd do this to your employer once, you'll do it again, whenever presented with the opportunity?

So if I want to listen to the discussion, whether it's the debt, gas prices, jobs and job growth, I have to listen to the Democrat's banal propaganda and lies. It's the same propaganda and lies that are plentiful on any of the other Leftist agenda-driven networks.

That's why I enjoy listening to Rush Limbaugh and Mark Levin. They don't have stupid, tiresome Leftist guests who treat truthfulness with reckless abandonment.  Hopefully, a true Conservative network will be formed one day.

The Mute button is there for a purpose, use it! We never listen to the Dems anymore.

Whenever they have two talking heads that we've never seen before we mute the TV and guess which one is the liberal. It's not that hard to tell. They usually look miserable.

President Obama is a Muslim (from his own lips), Kenyan (read it from his publicist) a homosexual (read it on a news magazine cover) and a Socialist (I'm alive and can see it for myself)

20 resumes to CNN? More like they tagged him as OCD.

Submitted by drsamherman on Sun, 04/15/2012 - 8:19pm.

For regulatory purposes, most large employers scan resumes and upload them to a database with OCR software. The software is designed to point out OCD crackpots like him. Their system might bounce his resume after a year of inactivity, but if he is saying that he sent 20 resumes within the 9 years he worked for Fox, that makes just a little over 2 per year. Easily the software tagged him and his name went into the circular file. Unless he actually talked to anyone at CNN, which I highly doubt until he was outed as the puto loco that he is, they would never have informed him why they didn't call him. It's all bullcrap.

Being a mole got him blackballed

Submitted by nkviking75 on Sun, 04/15/2012 - 9:32pm.

There are a number of former Fox reporters who have made it on to CNN and MSNBC. For example, Kiran Chetry and
David Shuster. Heather Nauert was on ABC for a time, and this very morning I saw Rina Ninan (sp) on Good Morning
America. If this guy is blackballed, it's probably for being a mole.
