In New Movie, Woody Harrelson’s Odious Character Impugns Founding Fathers and Fox News
In a movie opening next week, left-wing activist Woody Harrelson (IMDb page) plays a dirty cop in 1999 Los Angeles whose character impugns the Founding Fathers as “all slave-owners” and warns that if he is fired “I’ll have my own show on Fox News inside one week.”
“I am not a racist,” he declares in a clip from Rampart played on Thursday’s Late Show, arguing: “Now, you want to be mad at someone, try J. Edgar Hoover. He was a racist. Or the Founding Fathers, all slave-owners.” Some Founding Fathers owned slaves, but far short of “all.” In a scene in the promotional trailer featured on Millennium Entertainment’s site for the film, Harrelson’s dirty police officer character threatens: “If you force me to retire, I’ll have my own show on Fox News inside one week. You’ll be my first guest.” (Video of both scenes below)
That’s likely a take-off on Mark Fuhrman, who appeared as a guest on FNC, but never had his own show.

(Harrelson plays McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt in HBO’s upcoming Game Change movie about the 2008 campaign.)
The plot summary for Rampart as listed on the movie’s official site:
Officer Dave Brown (Harrelson) is a Vietnam vet and a Rampart Precinct cop, dedicated to doing “the people’s dirty work” and asserting his own code of justice, often blurring the lines between right and wrong to maintain his action-hero state of mind. When he gets caught on tape beating a suspect, he finds himself in a personal and emotional downward spiral as the consequences of his past sins and his refusal to change his ways in light of a department-wide corruption scandal seal his fate.

ALL the Founding Fathers?

I can only assume Mr. Harrelson’s poor education omitted knowledge of people like John Adams (who never owned a slave) and Ben Franklin (who founded the Pennsylvania Anti-Slavery Society).
Or has is never heard of the dangers of STEREOTYPING?

Harrelson has experience with criminals and murderers.

His father died in prison serving a life sentence for murdering a federal judge. Depending on which version of events is true, either Harrelson's father was a serial killer or a contract hitman. I certainly do not believe in visiting the sin of the father upon the son, but it seems that all of the law enforcement roles that Harrelson has ever portrayed or involved with in a story have been borderline psychotic or antisocial/sociopathic. As he is a big proponent of method acting, perhaps channeling his inner serial killer is just second nature. Either way, he is an actor whose works I would not pay or even take time to watch if they were free. He is just such a bad combination of Sean Penn's innate stupidity and Roseanne's severe psychosis.
Reason For Sean Penn's

Enormous chip on his shoulder: Sean's father Leo Penn.
The above is from Wikipedia, which may mean there is more to the story than Wiki editors will allow printed. (Yes, I have trust issues with Wikipedia - I don't trust them.)
I do remember that about Sean Penn.

From what I understood, his politics created a lot of trouble in his marriage with Madonna because of her relatively strict Catholic family and Penn's atheist beliefs. Don't know whether that was true in real life, but I can't imagine any woman wanting to be married to Sean Penn, considering his ugliness is derived not physically, but from his amorality and need to be the constant center of attention. His politics make him a warthog.
Wanting to marry Sean Penn?

I would usually say follow the money, but, Madonna has plenty so it must be something to do with being narcissistic and needing to be married to someone high profile. Maybe I'm wrong, I dunno. You would know better than me to make that point but Penn is one ugly mofo for sure. His politics are even uglier. Ick.
I’ll have my own show on Fox News inside one week

If the character said that in 1999, the other guy would have probably said, "What's Fox News"?
Sorry, Woody. America has grown since the time of your movie.

In 1999, I was contacting my cable provider asking when they were going to pick up FOX.

I guess he is still pissed off that a Conservative Judge put his murdering daddy away for the rest of his life with no possible chance of parole. So to show how pissed off he is he spends all of his time screaming, whining, and crying in films that are out to show how many cliches can be stuffed into a one hour and forty five minute film.

He wasn't that funny as a stupid bartender. Most of his characters are the same person with a different name.

On what date did Fuhrman join FOX? I remember he was a regular on Greta's court show before she joined FOX.

Generally speaking, lazywood loves to stick with the narrative that all capitalists/conservatives are mean, heartless, bullies.
Unless Woody Harrelson had pull over the writer (and I say that he's lucky to land a role, so probably not), he had to recite the lines as they were written.
I hate the break it to you all, but, this is the way a lot of people talk. Blame the department of re-education and the MSM.
I've had conversations with some of my employees and I've had to re-school them on fact vs fiction.
It's funny how most of them stumble into the excuse, "I was never good at history."
To which I counter, "Apparently, neither were your sources."

Lord, spare us from self-righteous actors who think their fame endows them with wisdom.
