Video: MRC’s September 11 ‘Tribute to the Media’
“A Tribute to the Media,” a ten-minute video, honoring television coverage of the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. This was shown at the Media Research Center’s “DisHonors Awards” held in Washington, DC on January 17, 2002 when we took a time-out for a few minutes to pay tribute to the patriotic work of journalists during the national crisis.
The video starts with clips of the breaking news reporting that Tuesday morning, moves to world reaction, memorial services and search efforts; then to the patriotism displayed by Americans, the U.S. military response, Dan Rather and Geraldo Rivera rallying behind President Bush.
It includes powerful commentaries from two leading journalists who have since passed away: Tim Russert and Tony Snow.

Once in a while, they do get
Submitted by motherbelt on Sun, 09/11/2011 - 9:44am.
Once in a while, they do get it right.
And granted, it took a while....they didn't immediately go into "what did we do to cause this?" mode.
I'll stop there before I expand. Not the day for that.
God bless America.
They immediately banned the flag pin...

Back in 2001, ABC News had then announced that they had enforced their policy of discouraging journalists from wearing flag lapel pins shortly after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Prior to 9/11 journalists were discouraged from wearing any lapel pins on the air. But 9/11 was entirely different.
They stated that the journalists were also patriots who love their country, and that they were horrified by the attacks. But they also believed that it was inappropriate for the broadcast journalists to engage in “flag-waving on the air”
ABC spokesman Jeffrey Schneider said at the time of the controversy that the network saw the policy as necessary to protect its reporters’ (I'm sure he meant journalists who do not report) credibility and their safety overseas. “We cannot signal through outward symbols how we feel, even if the cause is justified,” he said in a statement to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Overseas, it could be perceived that we’re just mouthpieces for the U.S. government, and that can place our journalists in danger.”
None of the ABC liberal blowhards were overseas anchors. They were right here under the flag of freedom and under no threat to life.
Mouth pieces

Funny, now the MSM ARE the mouth pieces for the government these days (all those talking points etc) except for Fox News and other conservative news sites.
That didn't help Lara Logan one bit, she was a mouth piece for the government that wanted Muburak overthrown and they managed to come within inches of killing her, calling her Jew and raping(or nearly) her.

Paul Krugman is proving that the Nobel Prize has no more value than a plastic toy in Cracker Jack box. This man is the textbook limousine liberal, who pontificates his hateful rhetoric from his ivory tower behind armed guards and iron gates. While people are in remembrance of those innocent people who were butchered in wanton fashion and honoring the Todd Beamers and gallant FDNY firefighters, this coward delivers a cheap shot across the wake while others are mourning, and doesn't have the class of allowing comments on his blog, and beaten like a dead donkey, he can dish it out, but his paper-thin skin can't take feedback.
The left-wing slant in the media is our #1 problem. Krugman is merely the tip of the iceberg. They have to be destroyed, because they are too toxic and DANGEROUS to continue the detrimental harm they are causing our free press.
Opinions are one thing; messages designed to demoralize and destroy a nation are acts of war.
Like all traitors, Krugman is a spineless coward

Krugman should be arrested and tried for treason.
Then rudely thrown up against a wall and shot.

I was going to post the same link.
The state of the left is summed up in his blog... angry, hate filled, unrealistic, unreasonable, partisan, and, as so many in the media are expressing, fearful and intolerant of any ideology not aligned perfectly with their own.

Bill White Imus’s Guest on Imus In The Morning Fox Business New. Three Days after the attacks of September 11th 2001, Bill White and the folks at Intrepid, decided to change the view of what OBL would be viewing on his television. Turns out Bill White was right OBL, liked to watch the response to his handiwork. Bill White, we changed what he would be watching when he turned on his tv, it was like giving him the middle finger.
What has Paul Krugman done
Submitted by rbosque on Sun, 09/11/2011 - 12:26pm.
What has Paul Krugman done since 9-11? Nothing but whine like a petulant 10 year old. He's an attention whore that wants to be relavent.
Many people have answered the call to fight overseas and many lost their lives. Krugman is thumbing his nose at those people including those that died that fateful day. Many answered the call to serve including my brother and two sons. I salute them all!
Krugman, well he's a big fat fairy. And if I ever see him on the street, I'll punch his lights out!
9/11 Media

I have viewed this video and been moved. Putting that douche bag Dan Rather immediately after Tim Russert highlights everything that is wrong with the American mainstream media. Tim Russert's comments were heartfelt and credible to his beliefs. Dan Rather, on the other hand, was shallow and consistent with his hate for a successful United States. Dan Rather used his position of respect in the media to publish false stories in an attempt to affect a presidential election. At no time should this scumbag be used as an example of the positives of the American media. I am absolutely ashamed that his roots go back to Houston, Texas.
Agreed about Rather

I have the same problem with the impeached serial adulterer, BJ Clinton, as well. In the spot light and making millions since leaving office speaking on "America's behalf". The left's heroes are pathetic.

I disagree. Today is the opportune "DAY FOR THAT."

That is: to reflect and to examine how the corrupt news media has left us unarmed by bad information, misinformation and what the old KGB used to call "disinformation."
The major media put on a pretty good act that day but their agenda to push us into a one world socialist society hardly missed a beat even on 9-11.
What day of the year is there for Americans to point to the vile and utter corruptness that exists within the major news sources than on 9-11? Does the devil have a day off when one can not call him the "father of liars?"
The major media are masters of deceit. To lie and obfuscate the events of the day is part of their job discription. To twist and "spike the news" is part of their daily chores. So why should anyone give these promoters of confusion a day off?
Why should anyone let them get away by hiding behind a human face; to hide behind a facade of caring and concern when they have been negligent in their duties to bring the truth before the eyes and ears of Americans for events they helped to bring about due to their negligence in exposing the networks of evil; for keeping the attention of the American people on fluff news pieces while evil is brewing.
A small publication had published on October 1998 put the face of Osama Bin Laden on the front cover of their magazine. The question was: "Is This The face of Terror?" If a small publication was already out exposing the "face of terror" nearly 3 years before 9-11 why wasn't the MSM doing likewise?
"Hate America!" Was The Media Message

Between 9/12 and 9/14 I heard a reporter attempting to get a quote from Henry Waxman to the effect that America had provoked 9/11. I think that the reporter was with ABC and I applaud Henry Waxman for refusing to give the reporter what he wanted. However I can't help but note that when the reporter wanted somebody to speak against America, Henry Waxman should consider why a reporter who wanted somebody to speak agains America came to him the first week after 9/11.
Even the best of the MSM is none too good. Tim Russert showed concern about the country in the wake of 9/11 but in the following years before his death he entered into a criminal conspiracy to frame Scooter Libby in an effort to get Dick Chaney and George Bush for something that he knew Armatage at the Department of State had done. In the final analysis he committed perjury trying to drag down the elected President of these United States.
Long may Tim Russert rot in hell!
