MSM polls may say a majority don't consider Sarah Palin qualified to be President (60 percent according to ABC News-Washington Post), but just as many people recognize the media's unfair hostility toward her. “About six in 10 Americans (61 percent) think Palin has been treated unfairly by the press,” a Fox News-Opinion Dynamics survey released on Friday -- and highlighted on Saturday's Fox Newswatch on FNC -- discovered. That's up from 58 percent in January. Half as many, 31 percent, said she's been covered “fairly,” with 8 percent answering “don't know.”
While an overwhelming 83 percent of Republicans consider media coverage unfair toward Palin, so do a solid 65 percent majority of independents -- and even a significant minority of Democrats: 37 percent. The poll also found that Palin is viewed more positively than Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the FoxNews.com summary pointed out:
Despite being characterized by many as a divisive force in her party and the nation, Americans are much more likely to give Palin a positive rating (47 percent favorable) than another prominent female leader -- Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (28 percent favorable).

How this works out is dependant on how Sarah presents herself in the coming months.
The reason this is happening is because the country is not satisfied with obama and is looking around for possible alternatives.

It is cool to be down on Palin. Of course, she is not alone; the media does this to all prominent Republicans. The only Rs they like are RINOs. They've convinced a lot of young people that Ronald Reagan was an idiot and the decade of the 80s was a travesty. Heck, they convinced millions of people that everything bad that happened the in the 2000s has been Bush's fault, even things that happened after he left office. Palin was unprepared when she entered the election last fall, and she had some mis-steps that were precipitated by the media. Obama, in the meantime, also had some mis-steps; however, he was largely protected by the press and most people are unaware of his gaffes.

She can certainly have a successful career in some form of media (as she is proving with her book sales), but I think she is politically damaged goods. (I wish it wasn't true, but that's how I see it.) Unfortunately, the media continues to hold significant power and influence over people who are barely paying attention (which describes most Americans). This is why even many conservatives do not like Palin.
