Oliver Stone: 'Reagan Was a Dumb Son of a Bitch' Who Spawned Bush

Film producer/director Oliver Stone, a far-left promoter of conspiracies who is working on a sequel to his 1987 'Wall Street' movie, declared on Friday night's edition of HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher that “Reagan was a dumb son of a bitch” and “I really think George W is dumber” and so, after producing movies on the CIA conspiracy to murder President Kennedy and a dark look at President Nixon, he won't create a movie on Ronald Reagan because “by doing the W movie I kind of put all my efforts behind dumbness.”

Stone, who earlier in the pre-taped show made up of three one-on-one interviews Maher conducted (other two were with Cameron Diaz and Billy Bob Thornton) characterized President Obama as no better than Bush (“a sneak Bush administration with different words”), also asserted: “I do think Nixon is the father of Reagan and I think Reagan's the father of Bush. There's sort of a very strong line.” Whatever that means.

From the June 26 program, after Maher asked why Stone, who did films on JFK, Nixon and Bush, had not done a movie on Reagan:

OLIVER STONE: Nixon always said Reagan was a dumb son of a bitch and, you know, I think that he was [audience applause]. And I think, I really think George W is dumber [more audience laughter and applause].

BILL MAHER: Definitely

STONE: I do think that by doing the W movie I kind of put all my efforts behind dumbness and I don't want to go back there because, you know, I'm not the Farrelly brothers. But I do think Nixon is the father of Reagan and I think Reagan's the father of Bush. There's sort of a very strong line....

I would love to see The One grilled on an interview over Supreme Court cases that even many non-constitutional lawyers know about...I think we'd here a lot of 'uhs'. He's clueless.

If I were such a constitutional expert as this guy is, I think I'd be bringing up constitutional cases left and right, telling little-known anecdotes about past Justices and their cases, etc.

It's only natural to want to talk about something you're knowledgeable in.

ALL we've ever gotten from this guy is talking points, snide comments, more talking points...and, er, nothing else if you think about it. Just straight down the line talking points.

The Iranian president, Ahmadinejad, turned down his request to make a documentary about him. The movie 'Platoon' in his accolades of 20 years ago. It is still the biggest POS movie about Vietnam I ever saw. reinforcing all those 60's and 70's (still) stereotypes about Viet vets as being Psychotic baby killers. That Sh## movie always gets 4 stars from all the guides and I am always enraged. I think that in the movie JFK he is trying to paint the picture that Nixon killed Kennedy rather than some commie rat sympathizer acting alone. It goes against his commie grain. So Stone(d) is actually saying that Obama is the same as Bush, and Bush is dumber than Reagan.

I wonder why Maher didn't have the guts to examine Stone about his JFK fiction? There has come into being enough evidence that anyone who believes in a JFK conspiracy, such as portrayed in Stone's film, can have his conspiracy arguments destroyed pretty easily. The evidence is simply overwhelming. I also remember that when he was selecting the conspiracy book to base his film on, Stone rejected one that he preferred because the rights were too expensive, so he settled on another, cheaper one, which had a completely different theory. Says a lot, doesn't it?

The film "JFK" was a propaganda piece, designed to reinvent history, with the "funding" and "stipend" provided by American moviegoers. Instead of a left-wing misfit, we now have a vast right-wing conspiracy. Fact is, the evidence assembled back in 1964 was overwhelming.
