In a q and a with George Stephanopoulos on Saturday's World News, ABC anchor David Muir decided to sum up President Barack Obama's week in Europe by displaying a picture of jovial Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev arm-in-arm with President Barack Obama during the G-20 group photo session, an image Muir contended showed how “other heads of state are seemingly trying to get close to the head of the class, or the cool kid in the class, if you will, President Obama.”
Muir cued up Stephanopoulos: “Have you seen much of this in recent history?” Stephanopoulos put style over substance as he declared “the President's stagecraft on this trip and his star power have really held up all through his trip to Europe.” Though he acknowledged that “on the substance the President hasn't gotten all he wanted either at the G-20 or at this NATO summit,” the host of ABC's This Week decided “he's done a good job of managing expectations.” As Stephanopoulos demonstrated, Obama has certainly met and exceeded media expectations.
The exchange on the Saturday, April 4 edition of ABC's World News:
DAVID MUIR: And George, as we wrap up the week we wanted to take note of these images we've been looking at, particularly this one where other heads of state are seemingly trying to get close to the head of the class, or the cool kid in the class, if you will, President Obama. What do you make of this? Have you seen much of this in recent history?GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: We have not, David, and the President's stagecraft on this trip and his star power have really held up all through his trip to Europe so far. As Jake [Tapper] pointed out, though, on the substance the President hasn't gotten all he wanted either at the G-20 or at this NATO summit, but he's done a good job of managing expectations.

April
2009…Obama continues the democrat (aka secular socialist) party
tradition of apologizing overseas (or even here) year after year after
year. Its should be a very rare thing to shame the greatest country on
earth…the country that saved the civilized world with its blood and
money twice in world wars. How many people have we fed and clothed with
hundreds of billions of American-earned tax dollars in just your
lifetime? How many decades have people from Cuba and Mexico (and
Europe) left their native country forever to be in the Land Of The
Free?
We have the liberal crybaby apologizing at almost every opportunity
when overseas. The shameful pandering of non-leadership. Notice all
those millionaire liberals giving less than 1% of their income (like
the Obamas 2008) are also fond of chewing on Americans for being so
selfish.
Do you see other world leaders trashing their country every month of
the year? Hey, sit down and shut up you spineless bootlickers!
How the modern lineral can stand getting up every single day (in
power or out) angry, unhappy while fawning to thugs, socialists and
those that want America nothing but bad is beyond me. Its just another
obvious reason that modern liberalism is a mental disorder.
Expose (their daily lies-hypocrisy) and defeat them. Logic, reason
and even common sense patriotism do not affect them in the least.
Permit me to apologize to the world for the election of an inexperienced tacky socialist dufus.

Oh, for crying out loud!! Get a grip, guys!
It's the dork who makes the "thumbs up" sign in the class picture, trying to be cool. You would probably think it hilarious if he put "horns" on the gentleman in the middle!
And oh, yeah, you can tell that all those other guys are trying to get close to him!
Just because you guys have a man-crush, doesn't mean they do.
Managing expectations: is that a new euphemism for "the best we could hope for"...which, it turns out, was being rebuffed ?

Is that photo for real? It looks like something photoshopped for the cover of ENERTAINMENT WEEKLY. Truly laughable. And scary. Imagine the 1936 versions, Roosevelt, Hitler, Chamberlain, Mussolini, et al. Old Benito giving the thumbs up.
Hey Benito Obama -- see that dude with the kitchen towel on his head? He's the jerk from the country harboring and financing the Whabbi sect of violent Jew hating terrorists. Oh -- and infidels and Christians too. And Hindus.
Offensive.
April 5, 2009 - 06:38 ET by Red JeepThat picture is very offensive to me. Barry O the Klass Klown yukking it up with his buddys while the world goes to hell. BarryO who pulled the wool over enough people’s eyes to become President is playing with the kids from around the world.
In other ways that picture reminds me of professional wrestling with its cast of heroes and losers. But isn’t this whole meeting just like professional wrestling with all the action prepared in advance? Supposedly they even had a real fight.
France’s President and China’s "President" got into and argument that became a verbal fight but cool BarryO got between them and gave them a pep talk about compromise. Tell me that wasn’t staged.
Yes, Mr. Obama really used
April 5, 2009 - 06:58 ET by eaglewingz08Yes, Mr. Obama really used his star power and managed expectations by spitting on America and then bowing like a servant/ waiter, not to the British Queen (whitey) but to Saudi King Abdullah (Obama is Arab through his father) his arab royal the keeper of Islam's holiest site, and thus the person Obama bears true allegience to. The NYSlimes, once a newsworthy paper, excoriated a democrap President 14 years ago, Mr. Clinton, for giving a shoulder bow to the Japanese Emperor, saying such a nod was completely verboten and a breach of protocol, even though Japan was a strong ally of the US. So I'm sure that the NYSlimes has this on its front page (where it would be had Bush given such a bow to the Saudi King), but strangely, one might even think (wrongly of course) that some ineffable bias has prevented all mention of this bowing and scraping of the US President to this most merciless and dark age monarch, even though his is putatatively an ally of the US. I would have found it more appealing if Obama had bowed to both or neither, than to the Oil King. And while the handshake and kiss Bush bestowed on the arab King was supposed to be 'revealing' and show some horrific tie between the two, so what is this gesture to reveal? I'm sure the unbiased press will spend reams of print to tell us, like they do for every real or imagined republican gaffe.

"You like me!"
April 5, 2009 - 07:27 ET by JerrySo sad that the most important political qualification in a liberal's mind is "popularity". It certainly explains their total obsession with polls and governing based on polls. And their desire to be loved by Europe and the world. And their idiotic willingness to appease those who hate us in the vain hope that they will "like" us. And their willingness to toss our only true friend (England) under the bus because they aren't part of the popular crowd. And their unhealthy focus on looks and speech instead of on the content of one's character.
And once our new "friends" have destroyed our great nation, we can all sit in our mud huts and proudly proclaim ala Sally Fields.... "You like me, you really like me!"

If Boy George and the rest
April 5, 2009 - 17:43 ET by RR GOPIf Boy George and the rest of the Obamatron ilk were in high school today, they'd be the ones wearing black, tongue-piercings, sitting in the back of the classroom moping and jotting down verse concerning the morbid ecstacy of Death. Either that or they were the ultra-quiet brainiacs with high self-reported IQs who were actually smart enough to do well in journalism school, or the social sciences, but math and science were beyond the scope of their true mentalities.
They weren't popular back then but because they were the ones who went to college and managed to stave off suicide or overdoses long enough to get their journalism degrees they are now in the catbird seat.
Oh, sweet revenge upon all those popular Jordache-wearing twits and jocks!

sorry, steffy ... but cuteness isn't exactly what we need representing us these days ... and the fact that these "innocent" metaphors are STILL being used by the media is not comforting in the least ... all it does is underscore the fact that the media is still throwing a pick (basketball term) to the public in order to hide the fact the country elected a man who does not possess the experience or tools needed to do the job. hell, obama is worse at speaking "off the cuff" than bush ... sad day when your country's leader can't speak at all without the exact words being displayed in front of him every step of the way ... and it's only been 2 1/2 months ... uh oh!
