Stephanopoulos: Obama and Press Corps 'Hit Their Marks Tonight'

Put a liberal President together in the same room with a liberal press corps and ABC's George Stephanopoulos, who has gone through the revolving door from liberal political operative to liberal DC journalist, sees a wondrous success for both. “I think both the President and the press hit their marks tonight” at the presidential press conference, Stephanopoulos gushed on Tuesday's Nightline in assigning an “A-minus for the President, A-minus for the press.”

President Barack Obama didn't have to do much to earn the A-minus grade: “He had a very clear strategy and that was to tell the country that he has a strategy. He has an economic strategy, that it's starting to work -- though we're not out of the woods yet by any means, but that with persistence it's going to pay off and we're going to make progress on those four big issues he kept talking about: health care, education, energy and reducing the deficit.”

And the reporters just had to pose questions about the economy: “The press also did do their job tonight, pressing the President on issues that people back home really care about and most of the questions about the economy, about the economic crisis we're facing right now.”

So, Stephanopoulos concluded his Tuesday, March 24 Nightline segment: “A-minus for the President, A-minus for the press.”

I'd give the easily-impressed Stephanopoulos a C for an overly simplistic evaluation.

So what?

This is what you expect from a Lefty mouthpiece like Steffie!

I thought his first name was Keith.

"DumbAssity of Dope"

Head Fake

I guess it's hard for The One to go wrong as he picks from his list of pre-selected 'journalists' for questions. And I loved the telprompter head fake. He's been getting so much static for his dependency on the telepromt that he tried to fake America out by moving it to the back and reading from a big screen.

What a phony President and what a phony media.

staying on mark?

Steph means they didn't get in the way of the Mega-prompter.

This coup has gone on long enough. The time to put it down is NOW.

Awwww!

Poor poor Tele. He's gonna have a big case of "Mega envy" now. Poor thing.  : )

Obama's strategy hasn't done..

Obama's strategy hasn't done..  chip yet!

Any idiot knows that it takes 1 or three years to see the result of much of anything that Washington does.  The real results of Obama's strategy(s), if implemented, will not be realized for years.

And guess what? The CBO and 250 economists have already weighed in on the verdict.

"He had a very clear

"He had a very clear strategy and that was to tell the country that he has a strategy."

I...um...I don't...WHAT?!?!  What in the hell??!!   Please tell me that was someone's humorous spin and not...omg.  We really are screwed.

Annie, I thought the same

Annie, I thought the same thing reading that...only I thought What the H????????

A few weeks ago, there was a headline that Obama was "poised" to save the economy.  Now he's got a "strategy."

Next we'll hear that he's fixin' to fix the economy.

You're right....we are so screwed.

A Plan to Make a Plan

That makes me laugh.  My husband tells me there are so many people he works with who constantly say they have "a plan to make a plan."

Which means they have nothing.  They are probably democrats.

The thing I look forward

The thing I look forward to, because it's all we have, is the moment when we can shove all of this crow right down the mouths of all these libs when this crap all comes down around their ears.

Obama is going to be the end of it all folks.  This is just the start.  Hell, it will probably be too late by 2010 to do anything about it because they are moving so fast. They have complete power in DC, and frankly, we are on our own.  These folks HATE us.  They are going to try and do whatever it takes to shut us up and then down.

I didn't believe it at first.  I do now.  It is incredible that this has taken place in our lifetime. Believe me folks, I am not nor have I ever been a "Chicken Little", I just call 'em as I see 'em.

time for little Steffie to go...

This nonsense from Stephanopolis has to end.  He needs to be fired.  The crap that spews forth from MSNBC is one thing no one watches them or cares.   Georgie is on a supposedly big time operation.  He is demeaning ABC and their owners Disney, Inc.

You can't say that Stephie

You can't say that Stephie isn't hard hitting. Rahmbo told Stephie to give the President an "A" and the press and A- at their morning chat, but Stephie said, No way Rahmbo. Both are getting an A-.

What a guy.

The only issue is what grade did Stephie give to the OPTUS (Official Presidential Teleprompter United States)?

I'd say give OPTUS an A, after all it can't help it if its sidekick screws up what it puts on the screens.

I only wonder what headlines would be on the front pages of the major libtard press and cable shows if Reagan or Bush had held a press conference with a teleprompter. Indeed the issue with the teleprompter is not just intellectual but whether the President has required questions in advance from the press so that he can have the answers scrolled for him on OPTUS, and in the order that the 'journos' have been previously told the POTUS will call on them?

Is the press room also wired so that POTUS Advisors can hear the questions in real time so his OPTUS can be prompted in real time.

Don't you remember the

Don't you remember the brouhaha when someone noticed a little bulge in President Bush's jacket? The media screamed Foul!! Foul!! Someone's feeding him answers!! (They were wrong.)

This President doesn't even try to pretend.  He's got his teleprompter out there front and center, telling him what to say, and they're not bothered by it at all.

They are all the supporting cast  in the Presidential Show.

Yes

Did anyone else notice how much he was squinting trying to read the tele in the middle of the room.

He reminds me of my first grade son reading a book concentrating so hard on each word but not understanding what he is reading yet.

There's a whole new meaning

There's a whole new meaning for 'press' conferences.

Some of participants attempt to press him for actual answers, and Obama is rated on his performance to wrestle his way out of the pin.

I'm actually kinda curious

I'm actually kinda curious to go back and see this.  My attention was on the movie Se7en.  I only really caught 2 things in my occasion glances up.  I saw that a Fox reporter was actually called upon (that was shocking) and heard Obama mention $4 a gallon gas.  I don't know the context, but I'd like to hear why the man would even mention that energy prices may rise to such levels again.

I'd like to see the conference that Stephanopoulos saw...

...because the one I was watching mainly consisted of little more than the President resorting to babbling the same tested catch phrases over and over again; only demonstrating that he's lost without the pre-programmed teleprompter.  You'd think that pre-selecting the reporters would give him enough of an advantage to make up for the loss of his most needed crutch.  But clearly, it does not.

Well we must have seen..

Different pressers. I thought he was mind-numbing, arrogant and evasive with his answers. Not to mention long-winded, 13 questions in an hour long press conference? But of course I'm a critic of Odumbo.

For once, I agree with George.

"Hitting the mark" is an expression for actors, relating to going to the proper, predetermined place on the stage to deliver a line or carry out an action.

The comparison seems to be spot on (although I doubt that's what he meant).

"marks"ism

Stephanopoulos: Obama and Press Corps 'Hit Their Marks Tonight'

I thought con men usually tried to woo/mislead their marks instead of do violence to them.

hit their marks...???

More like 'skid marks'.
