I'm home working today (lawyer) and have the HBO concert on my computer (it's a live broadcast online from HBO.com).

Our country is in for some big trouble, and with an inexperienced socialist at the helm.  Not good. I'm with Rush on this one--I don't want Obama's policies to succeed--because they're socialist policies.  And I worked the phones to stop my legislators from voting for all the bailouts. Heck, I called the White House.  Nothing helped.  

And one more thing.

Why is the press not screaming at the cost of this drug-fest? 

My son made a funny.  We were watching some of this and my son commented that everyone (the entertainers) just about was wearing black.  He said "black is the color of national mourning".  Then he replied, "oh yeah, we are in national mourning".

This has been my sticky wicket over the last eight years.

Many of the actors and actresses listed hither and yon were, at one time, most respected by me.

It's difficult these days to separate the actors' and actresses' craft from their politics and it most certainly colors the way I view them and their work.

Some, so vehement in their hate of President Bush, for purely hate-filled reasons, having absolutely no basis in fact, I find it impossible to watch or purchase anything containing their viasage or voice.

When many of these "politically active" actors and actresses "speak out" against conservative or Bush-related policies, they don't even know what they're talking about.  Tim Robbins being interviewed by Bill O'Reilly's Jessie Waters is one highlight that will always stick in my craw.  Robbins had no "back-up", just MoveOn talking points by rote.

Susan Sarandon and Jane Fonda were equally lackluster in their interviews conducted at the same "hate Bush" rally.

The crowds whipped into blind and hate-filled frenzies by dyed-in-the-wool Bush-hating liberal musicians is frightening.  That an entire segment of our population is completely unable to think for themselves is even more frightening.

How can anyone give so many of these actors and actresses creedence or even lend them an ear?

couple of the names did surprise me as well, Steve Carell, Billy Ray, and
Garth, being at the top. However someone made the point down below that at
least they're not on the record as having made anti Bush \ US \ McCain
comments... Hopefully anyway.

Post-inauguration:  I will be marching with my local catholic church to San Francisco (Sodom-by-the-bay) for the Walk of Life anti-abortion group.  And on Wednesday, I will try to make it to the Moraga, CA campus of St. Mary's College, to protest the speaking engagement of Bill Ayers, the unrepentant domestic terrorist.

I wonder if or when Sarah Palin gets elected there will be this much hooplah-I mean, after all, her election would indeed be just as 'historic' (they all are, duh...)?  Or if that's just if Shrillary gets elected?

Many of these people I once admired (like Tom Hanks and Garth Brooks) and many others I had listened to or watched them for years.

No more. My money will not go to assist these people or their causes. Pity, too. I was working in the kitchen today and I was listening to one of my favorite old CDs - Bonnie Raitt, 'Longing In Their Hearts'. Some of the best, most moving music ever made. If she came out, today, with an album touted as better than either this one or 'Nick Of Time', I would not buy it.
