Notes on Friday night coverage of the Wall Street bail out:
On the NBC Nightly News, the always hyperbolic Jim Cramer saw “Great Depression II” avoided by the rescue effort, anchor Brian Williams raised 9/11 as he contended “this was the kind of jittery week in New York a lot of people had to go back to 9/11 to remember how they felt then,” prompting an “oh, wow” from CNBC's Maria Bartiromo, and Williams passed along how “a Democratic politico said to me this week, if the Democrats do their job, they'll make this 'fundamentals of the economy' quote to McCain what 'mission accomplished' was to President Bush.”
ABC's World News brought up Iraq as David Muir referred to how a man in Manhattan “asked today what about the more than $600 billion already spent on Iraq?” Muir also read an e-mail: “Why make the little people bail out these companies?” Of course, the “little people” won't since they barely or don't pay any income tax. One-third of those who file pay nothing or get money back while the bottom 50 percent ($32,000 down), who earn 12 percent of the total income, pay less than 3 percent of taxes collected. The top 25 percent ($65,000 up) pay 86 percent and the top 1 percent ($389,000) pay 40 percent, so maybe the wealthier will get something for all they put in.
Fuller quotes from the September 19 NBC and ABC evening newscasts, in sequence:
NBC Nightly News:
JIM CRAMER OF CNBC: This is about avoiding the Great Depression II. This is about going to your automatic teller machine and having money still come out. This was necessary. I've been a relentless critic of this administration, not today. This was well done....
BRIAN WILLIAMS: This was the kind of jittery week in New York a lot of people had to go back to 9/11 to remember how they felt then. How do you feel going into this weekend?
MARIA BARTIROMO OF CNBC: Oh, wow. Well, you know, I'm feeling optimistic, Brian. I think that the regulators are on this issue. I think we will get through it. I think there are a lot of reasons to feel good about things, even though we will see layoffs, and that is going to have ripple effects throughout the economy. Things are pretty slow right now. But this economy is resilient. We'll get through it.
....
WILLIAMS TO CHUCK TODD: A Democratic politico said to me this week, if the Democrats do their job, they'll make this “fundamentals of the economy” quote to McCain what “mission accomplished” was to President Bush. I presume when you and I see each other in a week ast the first presidential debate it will come up.
ABC's World News, latter part of Muir's story:
DAVID MUIR: ...Not acting, economists say, would have made things far worse. The grease that keeps the economy going would have dried up. Stocks tumbling, 401 k's taking huge hits. They say banks could have collapsed, putting personal savings in danger. And there could have been a freeze on loans for homes, cars and so much else. Still, the scope of this bailout is unsettling for so many Americans. One viewer e-mailed us: “Does the government just look at this as Monopoly money? Why make the little people bail out these companies?”And this man asked today, what about the more than $600 billion already spent on Iraq?
MAN IN MANHATTAN: We are bankrupting this nation, but I don't know what choice we have.
MUIR: Though necessary, economists acknowledge many Americans will see this as hypocritical: Don't help home owners struggling to make mortgage payments, but step in when the big guys start to fail.
JOESEPH STIGLITZ, PROFESSOR OF ECONOMICS, COLUMBIA U: It's one thing for, to have some safety net for very poor people. It's a different thing to have safety net for some of the biggest corporations in America.
MUIR: He calls it corporate welfare. Whatever you call it, today the Treasury Secretary said it will cost Americans far less than the alternative. David Muir, ABC News, New York.

September 19, 2008 - 23:23 ET by superconAfter last weeks polls showing McCain ahead in key battle ground states the Obamedia is at DEFCON 5.They will be relentless on McCain and Palin. They're pushing hard for Obama and they don't care who knows it.I believe to them it is their sacred duty to do everything they can do to get him elected. They have his back.
Why would Brian Williams says this on national T.V.?
“a Democratic politico said to me this week, if the Democrats do
their job, they'll make this 'fundamentals of the economy' quote to
McCain what 'mission accomplished' was to President Bush.”
What he was doing was giving out his idea on how to hurt McCain over the airwaves to as many people as possible. It was as if he was saying come on guys..here is your opportunity. It's perfect.Criticize him on that and I'll make sure you get the air time for free.
It will only get worse.
Victory in Iraq.
Liberals suck.
McCain for Preznint.

Well, Mr. williams, if the United States, after all this economic turmoil, is still here when the debates commence then the “fundamentals of the economy” (being strong) quote by McCain was accurate. The effect of this crisis on everyday peoples lives, as yet, is nothing compared to the carter years.
Why does Obama hate Jews and is at war with them?
September 20, 2008 - 00:27 ET by Lame CherryIf people missed the fact that it is reported as confirmed fact that Obama told the Iraqi government to keep US troops in Iraq until after the election as dead US troops helped his bid, there have been other strange Middle East happenings to America aimed at the American Jewish community whether settlers or residing in America.
This is odd, but it is coming out of secular Ashkenaz Europeans in David Axelrod and George Soros.
Soros hates Jewish Americans. He rails on them nonstop and he is in bed with terrorist Hamas over Israeli Jews.
While people were looking at Georgia which was a George Soros meddling to get at Georgian resources and oil pipelines, people missed the biggest group which George Soros ran out of Georgia in Israeli Jews who were involved in finance and security.
Who should show up giving his approval but Joe Biden days after the onslaught of Obama's chief backer in Soros running Jews out of Georgia.
I have already linked the derivative market crash by the Chicago syndicate and Europeans backing Obama to raise his poll numbers in one of the most illegal election tampering on record, but what people are missing is who was being hammered in this attack, but Jewish investors. They as a group are the ones involved in the markets most and yet here is Obama and his people economically raping them.
This entire group of Obama's supporters from the Middle East to America have a huge target on American Jews. I realize that the secular Jews like David Horowitz and the ADL all are of a speak no evil against Jews no matter their crime, but goodness this is a horrific pattern aimed at American Jews by the Obama camp and nobody is sayin a word.
I know Jews in New York know something is up as they are currently backing McCain Palin by 54 to 37 in a polls which is unheard of in New York, but what needs to be done is someone to start linking this in the media beyond here to alert Jews that the Obama camp is doing some very odd things targeting them specifically.
Look one Iraq pullout is an event along with Obama being praised by terrorists in the Israeli state, but when he is stooping to having Americans murdered for political gain and then one sees Soros on his rampage and Jews fleeing Georgia on a rampage with Joe Biden smiling with his blessing and then Jewish investors are hit, this is not coincidence but a strategy harming one group of Americans.
For Joy Behar, Whoopie Goldberg and all the Obama backers, how about asking Barack Obama just why this group of his has a pattern emerging of attacking Jews.
Krauthammer, Pipes and company are you listening? How bout it Rush do you think you can review the fact that Soros ran Jews out of Georgia and Jewish finances were hammered in that stock market attack.
Thanks and God bless.
