Thursday night's edition of E!'s risque, celebrity gossip driven Chelsea Lately half-hour variety and talk show opened with a skit of host Chelsea Handler as a “dodgeball addict” pelting balls at her helpless staff members. Throughout the four-minute skit, Handler delivered a product placement for Hollywood's presidential favorite as she wore a white shirt emblazoned with “Obama 08."

Handler is author of the book, 'My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands.'

E Online's description of the show, produced in Los Angeles, which runs at 11:30 PM and again at 2:30 AM EDT: “E!'s late-night half-hour sensation Chelsea Lately features quick-witted commentary and a refreshing pop-culture perspective from comedian, TV personality and author Chelsea Handler.”

Does anyone think the

Does anyone think the producers would have allowed her to wear a "McCain 08" shirt? Or would they have balked at "politicizing" the show?

Can you say "in-kind" contribution?  How much do you suppose that ad was worth?

Hard to get upset.

Please, her 4 or 5 viewers are probably not changing their vote had she worn a "McCain" shirt.  Did you see the Palin interview on "Hannity and Colmes" led in the cable ratings at #1 with approx. 5 million audience when the numbers for #1 are usually less than 2 million?

Used to watch E! for 1 show

and 1 show only.

The Soup.

Just like the rest, though, McHale has resorted to the cheap Palin bashing. First time, ehhh, it's just an easy joke. Second time he used her I started getting pissed. Third time with the anti-Palin cr@p the show was off, channel was removed from favorites and and weekly record on the Dish DVR was deleted.

While I did enjoy his hammering the Hollywierd buffoons it became clear of his leanings and that he was going to use the show as a political platform. He got the same treatment Jay, Dave and Conan received. Jimmy K. isn't too bad ... yet.

Me Too!

I used to really enjoy the soup too until Mchale started showing up with Olby and making political statements.

Come to think of it, I used to like the daily show too, and Chelsea's first show was funny...Hell they were all funny until they decided to "change" the political landscape.

Shut up & tell jokes already...

Weathered and old

Advice to Chelsea: don't wear tank tops. You don't have the skin or the body for it; It makes you look weathered and old.

Chelsea Lately is evidence that...

Chelsea Lately is evidence that a high school drop-out with a bad body, bad teeth, a mismatched face and no talent can still make quite a good living for herself (well, maybe behind closed doors her negotiating skills are being taxed in order to stay on cable's "E", but at least someone is behind ya, Chelsea).

The answer to terrorism IS war. Next Please!

E! TV. Please! Does anybody still watch that channel?

I've had it blocked on my satlellite system for years. It's basically a worthless waste of air-time and taking up space where a perfectly good channel could be.

You want change? Give me a dollar.

And these are the people

And these are the people that want to shut down talk radio.

"Forget change, I want improvement!"

How is she a comedian?

Chelsea Handler is a comedian?  How so?  I thought comedians were supposed to be funny.

Whoever casts a vote for Obama-Biden is nothing more than a common thief.  Whoever fails to vote against them is nothing more than a moral coward.

Jay was off the reservation

Did you notice that Jay Leno deviated from the Party line last night, if only for a brief instance, at 2 points in the monologue:

"...the stock market was up 400 points today, to which the Democrats' response was 'Oh my God...NO!"

When discussing the hacking of Sarah Palin's email he noted that this sort of thing is happening to a lot of people and said he had a sample of one of Obama's email messages that said "For the next fundraiser we need to show sensitivity to the financial plight of average Americans.  I suggest we charge only $20,000 per plate."

At least Jay will show a little intellectual honesty unlike the hack David Letterman
