If Bush 'Thought Anybody Doing a "Heck of a Job," He Didn't Say So'

Cheap shot of the night, a gratuitous reference to President George W. Bush's 2005 “you're doing a heck of a job, Brownie,” remark about then-FEMA Director Michael Brown's handling of the Katrina hurricane catastrophe. Dean Reynolds in Escondido, California, concluding a Thursday CBS Evening News story on Bush's visit to the fire-ravaged region:

Mr. Bush dismissed comparisons between Katrina and California and seemed generally satisfied by the efforts he witnessed today. But if he actually thought anybody was doing a 'heck of a job,' he didn't say so in public.

On the NBC Nightly News, John Yang managed to raise shortcomings following Katrina without citing the comment used by liberals to ridicule Bush: “After the debacle of Hurricane Katrina, the President has been offering a robust response to these fires. But the real test may come in the rebuilding, which could cost a lot of money and take a lot of time.”

Bush should have spoken truth to past incompetents

I knew he wouldn't, but I wanted to hear the President say something along the lines of, "The state and local officials here in Southern California have done an amazing job.  This demonstrates the importance of planning ahead and executing the plan, rather than screaming for the federal government to swoop in and save the day.  FEMA was not designed for rescue work."  In other words, he should have taken a veiled swipe at Blanco and Nagin.

When you put the clowns in charge, don't be surprised when a circus breaks out.

I did hear a quote from

I did hear a quote from Bush, and I'm paraphrasing "It makes a big difference when you have a local government that is willing to take the lead" ouch!

"In any compromise between good and evil, only evil can profit." Ayn Rand

Blame Bush

Liberals are so filled with BDS that they find everything wrong. He shows up to get a first hand report, and they complain that he needs to go back and that he makes traffic worse. If he hadn't showed up, they would have complained that he didn't care.

Liberals can blame the fires of Bush and Iraq. If he hadn't gotten us into that war, they wouldn't have been spending all their time protesting and could have used that time to put in fire prevention measures.  Yep.  It's his fault.

White guilt goes hand and

White guilt goes hand and hand with BDS.

Katrina, the MSM focused of poor blacks living BELOW sea level that either couldn't or wouldn't leave the area for various reasons even after being warned to get out of town the big one is coming!

Cali-fires, MSM/liberals suggests white middle class are blamed for living in area's prone for wildfires.

Always the fault of whites while blacks can only be victims.

I'm a refugee from the Democratic Party.

Louisiana - Democrat Governor; California - Republican

Florida Republican Governor, Mississippi Republican Governor..............

Same Katrina storms and all went well.

Hey liberals did you ever conclude that California works due to Republican leadership during these self imposed fires as liberals there will not burn brush.

This is so easy to do in outing these liberals. Thank you God and it was a wonderful few years listening to Rush Limbaugh refind the thinking process.

*HIC IACET ARTORIVS REX QVONDAM REXQVE FVTVRVS

More nonsense from the

More nonsense from the right wing - California is under Republican leadership - guess again...if you do listen to Oxycontin to refine your thinking process, you'll know he despises Arnold.

Have you ever REALLY

Have you ever REALLY listened to Rush, or are you just reading from the KOS/Media Matters/ Dem Underground script?

Nice swipe on the drug thing too. Typical lib. Most of them can't stay OUT of rehab of some sorts, and constantly preach tolarence, and forgiveness. So where is that for the fellow man? Huh?

Limbaugh got hooked on painkillers, but unlike many, he was able to get well. If anything, that experience has made him better, stronger. And thank goodness, he is needed now more than ever!

mgertardn=no duh

We all know California is not under Republican leadership. We know Arnold is a Democrat in Republican clothing married to a Kennedy, even Stephanie Miller on AA knows it. Plus we have Boxer, Pelosi and Feinstein.

The point was that Democrat run havens are usually s.holes. All one has to do is take a look around the country. Take Los Angeles for example.

When a majority stupid Democrat crowd gets together and flexes their "political intellect" in the voting booth, they elect a serial adulterer, (who ran on the "look my d**k works" family platform parading them out whenever he could) four time failure of the bar exam like Anthony Villaraigosa. Or I could use his maiden name, Anthony Villar.

Signed,

Kathleen " I just don't know what to do" Blanco

Why do libtards always take

Why do libtards always take a cheap shot at Rush Limbaugh's "past" drug addiction to oxycontin?  PAST addiction is the key word here.  Atleast Rush did something about it.  More than I can say for most of the degenerate liberal celebrities that STILL use drugs.  PLUS, Rush Limbaugh's drug of choice was a LEGAL drug, not and ILLEGAL drug.

Don't mention..

.. Klinton's sex addiction, unless you want to receive condemnation from these very people.

Now that's just freakin' lying to yourself, Deanie

But if he actually thought anybody was doing a 'heck of a job,' he didn't say so in public.

I watched a lot of the camera following the Prez around on C-Span and he may not have said those exact words but he certainly gave credit to the firefighters publicly for saving homes and the sound picked up many personal thank you's and compliments to the workers for doing a good job--and to the head of the Nat'l Guard. So phooey on you Mr. Dean Reynolds for being a Nasty Negative Cynic who, like that other kindergartner, Lt. Gov. Garamendi, can't look beyond himself for one moment when other people are suffering. Selfish, selfish, selfish babies, all of them.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

Dean Reynolds of CBS

Dean Reynolds of CBS Evening News is a liar.  He is practicing jounalistic malpractice.  The President complimented everyone that he meant along the way during his tour of the ravaged areas.

What a difference between the buffonary in LA and that of the city, county, and state of California governments' assistance rendered to their citizens.

If a true comparison was to be done between California's response and the two idiots from LA - Blanco and Nagin they would be marked not just as incompetents, but criminals.

By the way, dimocrats, President Bush isn't running for president in '08.  Get a clue, Reynolds.  Never mind, you're fired!

praise for a heck of a job

EvilCon555I heard a lib on Sirius radio yesterday AM say the EXACT same thing well in advance of the evening news.Clearly the MSM gets their lead from left of center. I think it was a guy named Bob Presser on Sirius. I turned the twaddle off as soon as I heard it. Unfortunately the MSM is considered objective by many. It would appear however that this shows some proof they are just the opposite.
