Olbermann Cracks: With Cheney Under Knife, 'Bush Will Actually Get to Be President'

Keith Olbermann opened Friday night's Countdown show on MSNBC:

Tomorrow morning Vice President Cheney will undergo surgery to have the battery replaced on his heart defibrillator -- which means an exact reversal of last week's colonoscopy and invocation of the 25th amendment. For a few hours, at least, George W. Bush will actually get to be President. Our fifth story on the Countdown, let's hope he uses his alone-time wisely because today his administration was again reduced to try to reform clear reality into foggy myth with a dedication of language-parsing that makes Bill Clinton look like a chronic generalizer. Not that you would have known anything wrong from Mr. Bush's schedule today devoted to an economic speech and to handing out science medals....

Hear me, I am Hamlet!!

let's hope he uses his alone-time wisely because today his
administration was again reduced to try to reform clear reality into
foggy myth with a dedication of language-parsing that makes Bill
Clinton look like a chronic generalizer.

That was at the beginning of the show? It sounds like one of his endless, "Hear me, I am Hamlet!" Special Comments.

What a pompous idiot.

Motherbelt,

Olberman's not smart enough to make references like Dennis Miller.  He shouldn't even try.

KO said in an recent

KO said in an recent interview..." I'm a journalist who does periodic commentary"..I think somebody needs to get him a dictionary to find out what periodic means.....also it wouldn't hurt him to look up journalist too....this guy really going to be a pain if Hillary wins..every night KO will do an hour of Hillary a** kissing followed by O'Reilly bashing....if Hill's in there'll be little "truth to power" from the new "Murrow"

*Sheehan-vs-Pelosi*
"This could get ugly"

Olbermann's appeal is

Olbermann's appeal is rooted strictly in his hatred of George Bush.  Once W. is out of office and no longer a target for KO's nightly rants, what little audience he has will move on.

I remember pundits declaring that once Clinton left Rush would have nothing to talk about and his show would dry up.  Obviously that's proven to be wrong.  But Rush is upbeat, optimistic and above all entertaining.  KO on the other hand is just a foaming-at-the-mouth one-trick pony.

No Biggie

Only about 5 people watch this idiot anyway. Besides, it was Friday, and Michelle Malkin was hosting O'Reilly. That means only 2 were watching KO. Even Libs like a right wing hottie!

}}}----> Thanks, Sailor

I've been a Michelle Mallkin fan since her coverage of Timothy McVeigh.

There are lots of rightwing hotties over at Townhall.com.  None quite as feisty as that little spitfire Michelle, though.

I like her better than BOR

I like her better than BOR and she doesnt talk over guest.Yet she doesnt take no crap from anyone. She really nailed Geraldo. Also got on Bill about drag them out of the house spiel.

A Study in Contrasts

"Our fifth story on the Countdown, let's hope he uses his alone-time
wisely because today his administration was again reduced to try to
reform clear reality into foggy myth with a dedication of
language-parsing that makes Bill Clinton look like a chronic
generalizer."

That's the kind of sentence written by one who tries to impress us with his cleverness. Also by one who is impressed with the sound of his own voice.

Once again, the image of Bush is a study in contrasts. Allegedly Bush is an idiot and a master manipulator. He's totally inarticulate, and yet he's skilled at "language-parsing". Bush is the human equivalent of global warming, a phenomenon that causes drought and deluges, heat waves and cold snaps all at once.

When you put the clowns in charge, don't be surprised if a circus breaks out.

This transcript must be incorrect. Mr. Olbermann and the news executives as NBC repeatedly inform us that he keeps his views and opinions out of his "news cast" at all times. The only exception, they insist, is when he gives a "special commentary" at the end of the program. And it is labled as such - commentary - for the edification of the viewer.

Otherwise, Olbermann is scrupulously objective and would never allow his own views to affect his news judgment.

Countdown is a "news show" and Mr. Olbermann is a "news anchor".
