CNN's Morgan Raises Bloomberg's Global Warming Concerns

On Thursday's Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN, host Morgan treated New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's endorsement of President Barack Obama as a significant threat to Mitt Romney, and ended up bolstering Bloomberg's concerns about Hurricane Sandy being the result of manmade global warming.

Without noting Bloomberg's liberal record, Morgan highlighted the mayor's complaints about Romney's "endless flip-flopping." Morgan:

How damaging, Kellyanne, was Mayor Bloomberg's endorsement today of President Obama? He's been holding off on endorsing anybody. He's been known to have been an independent before. But he came out and very strong, two things, he said President Obama says the right things he believes about climate change and Mitt Romney doesn't. He also attacked Mitt Romney for where I think his real vulnerability is, the endless flip-flopping on issues from guns to abortion. What do you say to that? It's not a good thing that he endorses, a former Republican mayor, somebody very, very influential, endorses a Democratic President.

After Republican strategist Kellyanne Conway found fault with Bloomberg making a political endorsement in the aftermath of serious hurricane damage, and his history of repeatedly changing partisan affiliation for political advantage, Morgan defended Bloomberg's right to make an endorsement, and then brought up his concerns about global warming:

PIERS MORGAN: Well, I don't think you could blame him. It's five days to a general election. He's allowed to endorse somebody.

KELLYANNE CONWAY, LAUGHING: So he's going to swing New York to, all the way to Obama.

MORGAN: Well, I think he made a, I think he made what he felt was a very pertinent point, which is that actually Hurricane Sandy, the greatest storm New York has ever seen in his lifetime, may well be linked to global warming, and it depends whether you believe the science or not.
