Fineman Sees 'Superhero's Challenge' for Obama

By Brad Wilmouth | June 24, 2012 | 12:27

A  A

Appearing as a panel member on this weekend's syndicated Chris Matthews Show, MSNBC's Howard Fineman - also of the Huffington Post - described President Obama as having a "superhero's challenge" in Washington in having to deal with "a different planet than the one he originally was on."

A bit earlier, Fineman had recounted that President Obama was "confused" when he came to Washington and found that conservatives were not willing to work with him. Fineman:

The problem that he had once he got there was that other people, specifically conservative Republicans, didn't hear the music. They did not hear the Obama music. ... Barack obama, I think, was confused by that. How come these people don't see how destined I am. ... They're from a different planet than the one that he's on, and he hasn't figured that out because he never had to deal with conservatives.

He later added: "He's got a superhero's challenge here because he's on a, I keep saying, a different planet than the one he originally was on."

Attention to details

Submitted by metaphorsbwithu on Sun, 06/24/2012 - 12:38pm.

That's funny.

Didn't the media try to advance the narrative that Obama himself was middle of the road conservative while running for president?

And didn't the Republicans signal they WERE ready to give Obama everything he wanted ... until the American people dragged them kicking and screaming away from the far left after crossing the aisle in the beginning of his term?

Maybe it was the way Obama told them to shut up and sit in back and how Pelosi changed the locks on the conference room doors to make sure Republicans couldn't take part in deliberations and she and Reid had supermajorities enabling them to pass anything they wanted without an ounce of Republican input.

The revisionism of the left is mind-boggling.

Ands they think no one pays attention to details ... just because their side is doesn't.

Remember way back when, when comics were called 'funny books"?

Howard, Barack & the rest of the liberals are from Uranus. And like the Starship Enterprise and pieces of toilet paper, they circle Uranus looking for Klingons...

Fineman, because obama won he figured the Conservatives/Republicans would just agree with his liberal agenda and pass all his radical laws? What would possibly be the point of a 2 party system if that were the case? What is the point you are trying to make?? Everybody should agree because you met him as a young senator and he came across,to you, as knowing all the answers to all that is wrong with politics?

LOL!

Submitted by nogard on Sun, 06/24/2012 - 1:54pm.

LOL! Translated into rational english:

A fraudulent, incompetent, egotistical, inexperienced, mentally lazy, narcissistic sociopath, conned enough gullible fools into buying a few empty, undefined, unthinking, foolish slogans like "change we can believe in", "we are the ones we've been waiting for" and "the one", and then couldn't believe it when he was finally called on his vapid, socialistic, self centered beliefs, by people who actually spent a little time in critical, informed and rational thought!

this is proof the old adage is sometimes wrong...

Submitted by c5then on Sun, 06/24/2012 - 2:22pm.

Sometimes its not better off late than never. It was obvious to many back on 2007 that Obama was "from another planet". Its also obvious that he has been trying to transform us into his vision of that planet.

I know that Obama didn't do much in the way of leaving a trail during his brief congressional career, but I don't remember there being no conservatives during that period. Unless this is an acknowledgement that the Republicans around at that time aren't in the same league as the Republicans we have now. Of course I could be reading too much into this.
