Stephanopoulos Wife Ali Wentworth: 'I Would Like My Vagina to be Taken Off the Table in Politics'

By Brad Wilmouth | May 25, 2012 | 05:14

A  A

Appearing as a guest on Thursday's Piers Morgan Tonight, actress and comedienne Ali Wentworth brought up "reproduction rights" and Planned Parenthood as issues she is concerned about when host Piers Morgan turned the discussion to politics and what American women will be looking for in the presidential election. Wentworth began her answer by flippantly referring to her anatomy:

Well, first of all, I would like my vagina to be taken off the table in politics.

After she and host Morgan joked about her explicit choice of words, she added:

I have a hard time with reproduction rights being in the political arena, but that's me.

After noting the importance of the economy as an issue, she returned to the subject of "reproduction rights":

I do think that when it gets into the Planned Parenthood, all that kind of debate, I really have a hard time with, kind of, men debating what's okay and what's not.

Wentworth's husband, ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos, notably tried to force the Republican presidential candidates to debate the issue of whether the government has the constitutional power to ban birth control pills when he hosted one of the debates last January, even though such a ban was an issue none of the candidates had ever discussed wanting to enact.

After a commercial break, the CNN host brought up President Obama's decision to publicly voice support for same-sex marriage, and Wentworth's reaction of kissing several of her female friends on the mouth after she heard that the President was taking such a position.

Hey Ali, maybe you outta get your own damn 'vagina' off the table.............or tell your wimpy-assed husband to take it off for you, since he's the one that put it there.................I can tell you that we sure as hell are NOT interested in it!!!

important things to worry about than the treachery of having her vagina on someone's table. Well she did get a little attention for being so, so what's the word? Daring. That's it! God forbid that she gets irritated again as who knows what she will want to take off the table.

From her moral attitude she used "vagina" being polite because she was on Morgan's show.

on who puts it there.

If she wants to talk about "reproduction [sic] rights" or if Planned Parenthood puts it there, that's fine.

It's really about her "reproduction rights" but like a silly 6th-grader she couldn't resist a chance to say "vagina" in public.

PS:  Wentworth was on the old show "The Weakest Link. " she told Anne Robinson she was engaged, and Anne said "anyone we know?" and when she said "George Stephanopoulos" Robinson said "Never heard of him."

Hilarious.

No Class

Submitted by oldfart on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 6:36am.

That is the way low class people talk. Unless, at an intellectual level, that is the way the current crop self-appointed chattering classes engage in a public conversation. So sophomoric. You realize, of course, that is a rhetorical statement.

She was very pretty

Submitted by Newsbusterbrown on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 8:53am.

She was very pretty 20-something years ago, but I recall seeing her on one of those retrospective programs maybe 6 years ago and couldn't believe what happened to her. She wasn't even that old. Of course, I don't look exactly the same way I did back then, either. :-(

I was thinking the same

Submitted by Bettendor on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 10:32am.

I was thinking the same thing. She was on "In Living Color" during its later years (after the Wayans brothers left and Jim Carrey was left to carry the show with a mostly inferior cast). Time has a nasty way of catching up to you.

But as far as her thoughts on the issue, who cares? She hasn't been relevant in those 20 years and her opinion as a celebrity shouldn't matter more than any of ours.

Me neither, Ali

Submitted by Franksam on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 7:39am.

I know how she feels. Several times in my life, my penis has been on the table, so to speak. It's an iffy situation, and is to be avoided whenever possible. Since Ali doesn't want men to put her thing into play, can't we just all agree that nobody's genitalia should be on the table during the campaign?

I think we all (women AND men) should file a class action lawsuit against her for sexual harassment! I don't like the idea (threat?) that I might run into her vagina laying on a table in some fancy restaurant and I not only didn't order it, I resent her shoving it in my face at my dinner table.! Well, if you wanna take your vagina off the table . . .

Submitted by Galvanic on Fri, 05/25/2012 - 9:13am.

. . . . don't put it on the table to begin with.

WENTWORTH: I do think that when it gets into the Planned Parenthood, all that kind of debate, I really have a hard time with, kind of, men debating what's okay and what's not.

As long as Planned Parenthood gets our tax dollars, it's fair game; by the nature of the transaction, it becomes political.  If you want to keep men out of the debate, have PP refuse to accept tax dollars.

It's that simple.

do so love that word "vagina", don't they? They remind me of 3 year olds who figure out what "poop" is. I'm going to have to take the time to ask my vagina how it feels about things, I typically don't tend to include it in my conversations, political or otherwise. Quite possibly it would have more comments of merit than most of these talking heads. Will keep you posted.

She's quoted as saying she didn't poop until she was in college, that's how uptight she was. I'm thinking she hasn't since college, either.

When I read the comment, I looked for the author, when I found out who the author was I said Okay, An actress and a comedienne in which I could not name a single joke she made or appearance in any movie or television show, still Okay.

Still trying to figure out her relevance. I come to one opinion. Damn I feel sorry for George.
