Maher Claims Romney 'Bullying' Worse Than Michael Jackson Molestation

By Brad Wilmouth | May 16, 2012 | 05:33

A  A

Appearing as a guest on Tuesday's Conan show on TBS, HBO comedian Bill Maher absurdly suggested that recent allegations that Mitt Romney engaged in "bullying" in high school are worse than being molested by Michael Jackson, and asserted that he would be willing to trade being beat up in grade school for being "gently masturbated by a pop star."

Maher also again attacked Mormonism and religion generally, using uncensored vulgarity, and seemed to hold Romney responsible for the polygamy of his grandfather.

The Real Time host brought up Michael Jackson to suggest that Romney had behaved worse than a child molester:

But as far as this bullying, you know, this made me think of the Michael Jackson situation. Because, you know, he was accused of being a child molester. We'll never know because he's gone, but even his worst accuser never said that he did anything like actually have sex with them. It was grabby, grabby under the covers. Which is terribly wrong.

Maher continued:

However, when I was 12 years old, I was beaten on the playground. Just like the Mitt Romney thing, I was held down and somebody just punched me in the face while other kids watched. And if I could go back to 1968 and trade that experience for being gently masturbated by a pop star- (AUDIENCE LAUGHTER) -I would do it in a second. Frankie Valli could jerk me off. Gary Puckett of the Union Gap. The Allman Brothers, if we could go back in time. Marvin Gaye.

A bit earlier in the segment, while trashing Republicans for opposing same-sex marriage, Maher singled out Romney's Mormon faith for particular ridicule:

Of all the people to be making this claim that marriage is between one man and one - a Mormon? Between one man and - except for my (Romney's) grandfather, who went to Mexico specifically to get away from a country that said you have to have a marriage that's only one - they went to Mexico, the Romneys.

He added:

I mean, Mormonism, I don't want to get off on Mormonism, you know how I feel about religion, it's all bat****. (AUDIENCE LAUGHTER) But, I mean, this is, this is a religion, this is a religion that is so stupid that Tom Cruise would not join it. (AUDIENCE LAUGHTER) And Glenn Beck did.

Perhaps Maher's biggest vulnerability is his tendency to reveal his dark side when he thinks he's being humorous.

That's why I'd like to see him on more televisions shows. Put him on The View with jokes like that and see how mothers react. He's Obama's Million Dollar Man.

Isn't Bill Maher the guy that likes to pick on Sarah Palin's children on a regular basis and allowed Dan Savage to openly express his inner rage to have Hate Sex (rape) with Rick Santorum on his show? Uh, YES.

President Obama has yet to return that $1 million dollar donation from Bill Maher's Super PAC and condemn his statements and actions.

I do not know if Maher ever commented on this football players comment aboutTim Tebow's virginity, but I am sure he approves. Sorry to have brought it up, but the NFL certainly should have punished the player referred to as "Gronk" in the most severe way.
What has happened to pro sports anyway? It has turned wealthy and very left-leaning.

The fact that Maher can joke about child molestation shows how sick and ignorant the man is. And Obama is keeping his money of course.

All joking aside, this man

Submitted by lesterwink23 on Wed, 05/16/2012 - 8:54am.

All joking aside, this man truly has some serious mental and anger issues. The seething hatred for anything decent that foams from this jackass's mouth is nothing short of appalling. I know Conan is a lib just like all the other late night hosts, but I did have much more respect for him before he had Maher on his show. That's how toxic this man is.

Jumped the shark

Submitted by jon_torlin on Wed, 05/16/2012 - 9:05am.

I don't watch Conan for the reasons you stated above, but I think after having Maher on his show, Conan did the equivalent of jumping the shark.  Only an idiot would believe that Maher would come on his show and not spew his vitriol like this.

If people who watched his show had ANY sense, they'd boycott Conan, but we're talking about liberals here.  Let me rephrase, if conservatives who liked his show had any sense, they'd switch the channel.

Now if Conan had any sense, he'd apologize to his viewers and promise never to have that piece of crap anywhere on his soundstage.  Again, we're talking about liberals here though.

Maher: One Reason Obama is Losing

Submitted by EWRoss on Wed, 05/16/2012 - 9:17am.

Election Day is still more than six months away, but already the negative approach President Obama and his cohorts in the mainstream media are pursuing is faltering. President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign strategy is to define Gov. Mitt Romney as someone who will make the United States and the American people worse off than they are already. It attempts to brand Gov. Romney as a homophobic, anti-women, out of touch country-club Republican who wants to take America back to the protect-the-rich policies that got the country into the mess that it’s in. The “Republican war on women” campaign fizzled. The “Buffet rule” everyone-should-pay-their-fair-share-in-taxes strategy isn’t working. The Washington Post treating questionable reports about Gov. Mitt Romney assaulting a fellow high-school student because Romney thought he was gay, as if it was the equivalent of the Watergate scandal, doesn’t wash. President Obama’s election campaign openly intimidating contributors to a superpack that supports the governor, by publishing their names and encouraging personal attacks on them, is beginning to backfire. http://ewross.com/president_obamas_failing_reelection_strategy.htm

Beat up

Submitted by Name on Wed, 05/16/2012 - 10:07am.

I have no doubt that Maher got beat up in school. Probably more than once. Any kid with his mouth and attitude gets beat up. Then they go to the teacher and cry about it. Then they tease the kid they get in trouble. Then they get beat up again. Then they go cry to the teacher again. I wonder how that masturbation fantasy of his fits into that cycle?

"That was wrong." But you're in the right?

Submitted by CobraMan on Wed, 05/16/2012 - 12:22pm.

Ok, Bill, it was wrong when MJ was accused of being a child molester when there was no collaborating evidence, right? So, why isn't it wrong when Romney is being accused with out any collaborating evidence? Just as in the MJ case, it's nothing more that hearsay, nothing more that one persons word over another. Even the family of the "victim" says it never happened, just as in the MJ case. So, aren't you just as guilty of false incrimination by calling Romney a bully as those who called MJ a child molester? Isn't it just as wrong when you do it to Romney as when they did it ti MJ?

What's that, you're a comedian and, because of this, you're immune to charges of hypocrisy? Humm...

Of all the sickening horrific revolting comments made by Maher, this has to be one of the worse and most hateful irrational horse manure he has ever spewed. Maher said he's homosexual

Submitted by Buck_1 on Wed, 05/16/2012 - 6:13pm.

Maher, I think said why he got beat up.
I would think his foul nasty mouth is what got his face beat in. The fact he said, that he thought it was ok if Jackson was sexual with kids and he would of liked it done to him shows what he is.
This made me sick, I wanted to puke. I can't understand why people would pay to see him. I could understand if they got in line to bully him.

I know Maher says things for shock value and humor, but...

Submitted by uhohshortsonthe... on Thu, 05/17/2012 - 9:42am.

...I hope he isn't seriously suggesting that being beat up on a playground (which probably happened to 90% of boys, myself included) is somehow worse than being sexually molested, which has been proved to have lifetime-lasting effects? I have never heard of someone beaten up in a schoolyard one time later in life having major psychological problems, drug issues, self-destructive homosexual behavior, a criminal record, violent confrontations, etc. Yet all of these things have been attributed to a person experiencing sexual abuse.
