Politico's Thomas & WaPo's King Claim Santorum 'Pandering' to Racist Whites in GOP
Appearing as a panel member on Friday's Inside Washington on PBS, Politico's Evan Thomas - formerly of Newsweek - made claims about the existence of "angry, white, middle class" men in the Republican Party who are "seething."
And fellow panel member and Washington Post columnist Colby King accused GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum of "pandering" to a racist view "that black people are just shiftless, lazy and hands out" because of a recent comment in which Santorum appeared to bring up "black people" who receive welfare benefits, although the former Pennsylvania Senator denies that he used the word "black." (Video below)
Early in the discussion, Thomas predicted that Santorum would lose the GOP nomination because of his social conservatism: "This will drag on for a while, and we'll try to gin some excitement into it, but Santorum is a social conservative who cannot beat Obama. And I think enough Republicans are going to figure that out."
The Politico writer soon brought up the subject of angry white men in the GOP: "It's interesting that Perry stayed in because there is still this angry, white, middle class male out there that is a seething force, and Romney is not really their guy. It's not clear who is, I'm not sure, I mean, Santorum for the moment, but in some ways, that is a force to be tapped, and nobody's really found a way to do it."
King soon suggested that Santorum had made racist comments about African-Americans during a recent visit to Sioux City, Iowa. King:
He talked to the audience, and he told them, talking about entitlements, that I don't want black people, to make black people's lives better by giving them someone else's money. Suggesting that black people are just shiftless, lazy and hands out, and the hard working people are white people.
But when you look at the statistics, of course, it blows his thesis out of the water as to who is getting entitlements and who's not getting entitlements. But that pandering that he did in Sioux City is something that's going to haunt him.
Thomas jumped in to complain that "pandering works" because of the existence of angry white men in the Republican Party. Thomas: "Well, except that pandering works, and there are a lot of angry, white, middle class males out there. They're there for somebody to tap into."

Is this all they've got?
The depth of these guys' thoughts, if it were water, wouldn't dampen a washcloth!
All they can talk about is race, "code words" and "dog whistle" politics.
Well, the Republicans had better ramp up their game, because the liberal media have apparently broken the code. In fact, they are the only ones who are "getting" it!
Angry White Men again? Oh, please.

Didn't Obummer refer to himself as lazy?
This race card schtick is getting old but that's all the left has. They surely can't brag on all O has done for his peeps, can they?

Come on!! Republicans are always racists and/or stupid while Democrats are always brilliant and/or tolerant. This is ALWAYS the MSM mantra and it will only be elevated in the coming year. The dumbest, most gaff prone VP in my lifetime and you would never know it from the MSM where they just treat Biden like the crazy uncle at your family gathering, giggle at his outrageous comments and get him a second helping of potato salad. When Jefferson wrote the declaration of Independence, he was referred to as an " enlightened slave master". To carry this further I'd say all liberals consider themselves the "enlightened slave master"

If they are coming out with everyone is a racist this early and this often ( my uber lib inlaws just recently called me a racist--- right after they called blacks c--ns and ni--ers--- Whois the racist again? ) then they have lost.
They have lost the 2012 election and they know it. The race card is the last card and they are already playing it--- scratch that-- over playing it.
Just as in early 2009 (Feb) I was getting sick of the Obama is God-Jesus-Cap Sullenberger- Reagan comparisons when it all of a sudden it occurred to me the more they ( treasonous media) trot him out as God, the more it will turn people off. So my wish came true and he dropped like a rock in the ratings into negative territory. Don't believe those poll numbers today--- he is polling in low 30's at best. If you look closely at the sampling the pollsters are still polling Dems by 37-24 margin over Reps when in fact the latest registration is 34-32 Rep vs Dem.
So please David Gregwhorey and Matt Liar---- play and play and play the race card until your NBC brand ( along with MSDNC) brand is so damaged, Comcast will sell to Jane Harman for $1.

And whose grudges are being nursed by Colby Sharpton King? (rhetorical question)
There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs-partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs." Booker T. Washington

i suppose we can just remind them about the voting plantation they maintain and uncle toms like sharpton and jackson who make it work...
always remember that we freed the slaves and enacted the civil rights act - the democrats fought it all the way...

Santorum is foolishly guilty.

Holier-than-thou Rick Santorum is packing more baggage than most people of all political persuasions are aware. Rick unnecessarily interjected a race qualifier in one of his typical unscripted responses and it will be used against him right or wrong.
Notice how often race gets raised by liberals since '08???

Starting with Obama's emergence as a presidential candidate.
Any time anyone who's NOT in perfect alignment with Obama says just about anything, the MSM finds a way to inject RACE into the discussion as THE ISSUE.
This all began with the 08 Dem primaries. Bill Clinton made a completely innocuous statement about Obama's lack of experience and we were immediately told his statement had dark racial overtones and that he had insulted the black community. Hillary got similar treatment shortly after. Then Ferraro. Obama proceeded to warn the country that those racist Republicans were surely "going to remind you that I'm black."
Bill Clinton was a pariah within the MSM and the black community by the time Obama won the nomination. A certified racist (of course, everybody kissed and made up afterwards).
The race-baiting from the Obama Cultists has been a constant now for 4 years running.

...Evan Thomas' adoration of Obama and the messiah-like language he used on MSNBC’s Hardball Chris Matthews?
“In a way, Obama’s standing above the country, above the world, he’s sort of God.” To which you hear Matthews in agreement, saying, “Yeah.”
Enough said...........

For once, Evan is correct. Although, seething is such a gentle word and somehow misses the mark.

I agree with your assessment and Evans' but feel compelled to add. I see people day in day out ready to explode concerning Washington , Democrats and , Republicans alike.

The left is worse than Hollywood and their inability to come up with any new concepts, constantly tapping old TV and movies for remakes. Wouldn't it be nice to hear something new from the libs?
Oh, wait. Hollywood IS the left. Nevermind.
