Jon Stewart Mocks GOP as 'White Man's' Party and Jabs Concerns About Nuclear Iran

By Brad Wilmouth | January 04, 2012 | 01:40

A  A

On Tuesday's The Daily Show on Comedy Central, as he recounted the racist newsletters that were published in the 1990s under the name of GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul, host Jon Stewart mocked other GOP candidates after clips of them attacking Paul for not taking seriously the threat of a nuclear Iran, suggesting that the candidates were not so concerned about racism. (Video below)

Moments later, as he mocked Republican voters for adding former Senator Rick Santorum to the list of candidates they are willing to consider, Stewart took another race-based shot at the Republican Party as he used a box of Whitman's chocolates as a prop and pronounced the brand name as if it were "White Man's."

After showing clips of the candidates criticizing Paul's willingness to allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons, Stewart cracked:

They're main problem with Ron Paul isn't the racist conspiracy-mongering newsletters! It's because he won't pre-agree to start a war with Iran. That's like hating the TV show Work It because it's only a half hour long.

He then moved to the news that Santorum's poll numbers in Iowa had risen last week, and made his second suggestion that Republicans are racist:

Get the f[bleep] out out of here. Santorum? Really? Republicans, you gonna try every chocolate in the box? Is that, look, look, here's your candidates. Here's your candidates. Let's call it a "White Man's Sampler."

altogether.

I'm not sure what the Senator would think if a nuclear armed Iran blackmails Israel and Saudi Arabia, but unlike what I think about Stewart's opinion on anything, I would value Lieberman's opinion.

The democrats force blacks onto a leftwing plantation through the enforcement arm of liberalism (political correctness) and then call the republican party the white mans party. It's bizarre that Stewart's audience is so partisan that they'll allow this irony to go unchallenged.

Liberal Plantation

Submitted by Schofield Kid on Wed, 01/04/2012 - 3:04pm.

You have to admit they've done a remarkable job in the last 40+ years in reversing the truth which is the Republican party was explicitly formed to stop the spread of slavery and the KKK was formed by democrats to destroy the rights of freed blacks. Virtually every white person in the south voted democrat through the 1950's while southern blacks mostly voted republican until the welfare state was created by Johnson. THEY are the racist party that wanted to end rights for blacks....WE are inclusive of anybody who shares our values. As Ann Coulter said in her recent book, it would be like democrats proclaiming today if it were in their interest "oh we've always been pro-life!" Just an outright lie!

Leftist Media Hacks Nearing Self-Immolation

Submitted by ChrisNH on Wed, 01/04/2012 - 7:41am.

Across the landscape of Leftist Media Hacks you are seeing more anger now than ever. Why? Because they all know what we do: Obama is doomed, and these media hacks on the Left sold him to us in the first place. They also know that Obama doomed Liberalism thanks to his over-reach, so these media hacks are livid about that. What Democratic candidate will ever preach the joys and wonders of Liberalism going forward, when the benchmark is Obama?

The only time I will EVER watch MSDNC will be election night 2012...which really ought to be broadcast from an insane asylum.

Look, Paul disowns his

newsletter statements and maintains that he has done so in the past (not true to my understanding), he is not disowning the part of his policy that would "allow a nuclear Iran", so it is more effective to hit him on the stuff he has yet to disown.

Plenty of us are worried that he may have written the worst parts of the newsletter, but his contention that he did not makes it assertable not arguable. I don't find him credible on the newsletters, especially when people dug up tape of his plugging them. I can say I don't find him credible, but only a liberal can read minds like you guys do.

Just because you hit your opponent with the most effective weapon, doesn't mean that the other issues "don't matter". Also, attributing to Paul an assent to nuclear Iran presents Paul at his most dangerous (or so the argument goes). Even when someone was ranting about how fast young black muggers run, someone wasn't saying "Let's hamstring all black youths so they can't run so fast." There was nothing there proposed that was as momentous as ignoring the development of a nuclear Iran--simply an insensitivity toward a race.

Ever hear of PRIOITIES Jon?

Submitted by Cappmann1962 on Wed, 01/04/2012 - 9:25am.

Let's see: 20 year old (supposedly) newsletters vs. nuclear armed Iraq? Hmmm. Tough one. What should we be more worried about?

Oh, and BTW Jon, your little "white man's sampler" comment sounded kinda racist. Should we compare that to our crashing economy as to what's more important? You know what? I'm going with your priorities. Screw the economy that adversly affects millions. I'm going after YOU for your racist comment. I will begin a movement to boycott and eventually ban your show from the airwaves, followed by a petition for a full multi-year congressional investigation into your entire racist career. It'll only cost a couple hundred million dollars, but it'll be worth it so we will never have to hear another racist comment from you.

In the meantime, Iran will have developed nuclear weapons, passed them on to Hezbollah and other terrorist organizations, nuked Israel, slipped a few past our highly competant DHS into the US, vaporized a couple of American cities, started a worldwide nuclear war, and irradiated half the world's oil producing land. But at least we won't see any more racist newsletters from Ron Paul!

As for my project, I will have punched a few more holes in the dike that is our economy, but you'll never again trash the white man on TV...

Remember how he lampooned Obama about the Rev. Wright? Oh thats right he didn't , but what he did do was attack the media for it's obsession over the racist minister. Jon you are a schmuck and the left touts you as some intellectual comedy giant. Your going to be a Pinky Lee momento of the 90's. When no one remembers your name 5 years from now because you aren't funny , you will make a career of being a serious minded left wing bomb thrower like the donkey face.

Good ole John has" never been nor will he ever be my friend". A mind full of wit such as his belongs in a septic tank. "Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom". I suppose his ilk knows no wisdom as he seems to make a career of hacking others verbally and seems to enjoy like actions. God help him if I ever have him on my guest show. A fool he is of exponential proportions. In my society people such as he wouldn't last long enough to find his way home.

Will The Daily Show mock Israel's intelligence community too?

Submitted by lrgon on Wed, 01/04/2012 - 4:54pm.

Fretting over the bomb

The Washington Times ran a story on the views of Israel's Intelligence spy chief Tamir Pardo. The chief of the Mossad was quoted by the conservative Washington Times regarding one of those "what if" scenarios of a possibly nuclear armed Iran.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/dec/29/israeli-spy-chief-downpl...

Washington Times:
"Mossad chief Tamir Pardo addressed a conclave of Israeli ambassadors in Jerusalem on Thursday, saying that Israel’s existence is not inevitably endangered by Iran acquiring an atomic weapon, even as Israel has tried to disrupt Iran’s nuclear program.

"... Mr. Pardo’s comments echo those of his predecessor at Mossad, Meir Dagan, and of other former and current Israeli security officials.

"Mr. Dagan had vigorously opposed an attack and expressed his position publicly after retiring earlier this year. Gabi Ashkenazi, former armed forces chief of staff, also reportedly opposed an attack.

"Opponents to an attack plan say that Iran, as a rational state, would not launch a nuclear assault that would ensure a retaliatory Israeli strike on its cities, including holy sites."
