ABC Staff Laugh at Bill Maher's Anti-Religious Mockery of Tim Tebow

By Brad Wilmouth | December 31, 2011 | 23:03

A  A

On Wednesday's Good Morning America, ABC staff could be heard laughing in the background when substitute news reader Dan Harris recited the less vulgar part of HBO comedian Bill Maher's infamous tweet mocking Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow's religious beliefs. (Video below)

After informing viewers that there were calls for a boycott against Maher's HBO show over the "controversial tweet," Harris continued:

The part of the tweet we can show you reads, quote, "Somewhere in Hell, Satan is Tebowing, saying to Hitler, 'Hey, Buffalo's killing them.'"

Low-volume laughter could then be heard in the background.

Below are both video and a transcript of the news brief that aired at about 8:04 a.m. on the Wednesday, December 28, Good Morning America on ABC:

DAN HARRIS: There are growing calls this morning for a boycott of comedian Bill Maher's talk show on HBO, all because of a controversial tweet

After the Buffalo Bills beat Denver last Saturday, Maher took aim at the deeply religious Bronco's quarterback, Tim Tebow. The part of the tweet we can show you reads, quote, "Somewhere in Hell, Satan is Tebowing, saying to Hitler, 'Hey, Buffalo's killing them.'"

"Tebowing" refers to kneeling down in public prayer. No comment yet from Tim Tebow, who generally does not respond to any public taunts.

ABC's so called journalists and Bill Maher are hypocrites. They would never make fun of anything muslim. They know if they did anything like this to any muslim their lives would be in jeopardy.

ABC and Bill Maher should be boycotted.

It is so brave to ridicule Christians! Why don't you make fun of Muslims then we will think you're brave.

Bill M stopped being relevant or funny about 25 years ago.

You're not alone!

if repulsive Maher was a conservative and tweeted. Abc would have condemed him to hel.........where he belongs anyway. Tebow is such a stand-up person by not commenting on any of these looser entertainers. When is this garbage in the media ever going to stop. Having to report on Maher and his tweets is as low as news can go and adds nothing to any news worthy of hearing. The big 3 are a disgrace to tv

Another one*

Submitted by cajun2 on Sun, 01/01/2012 - 12:29am.

A young man named Barrett  Jones recently won the Outland Trophy for college football.  He is a 4.0 student who recently graduated at Ala.  He is very much a Christian and is foregoing the NFL draft to spend another year with his team mates. He is another of many young athletes who are openly Christian and live the values they believe.  They openly express their faith in something greater than themselves.  You wont hear much about this young man, yet, still, the media attacks Tim Tebow at every opportunity.

The sports world seems to have that hypocrisy thing down pat like their counterparts in the political world.  The sports media extolled Michael Vick as "reformed" and deserving of another chance yet openly attack Tebow.  Much of the same ideas and tactics used to demean Bush while cheerleading the "virtues" of Kennedy and Clinton.

If I wouldn't know any better, one would think this was a coordinated tactic by ALL media to demean values and morals in our society./sarc

What'da'ya expect from a bunch of immature, puberty-stricken, delusional punks, anyway??? Donkeyface is a worthless piece of human fecal matter, and these dolts at ABC probably regale in their 'awareness'..........except if they had to ACTUALLY do something of consequence in the real world, they would wet their panties!!!

Tebow has proven himself to be a man, a competitor, and a 'real' human being. Have any of these little queebie-assed twerps done the same??? I doubt it seriously!!!

This is where the left blows

Submitted by amyshulk on Sun, 01/01/2012 - 2:10am.

This is where the left blows it. I probably wouldn't know Tim Tebow from a hole in the ground without their constant bullying, and as a non Christian, *I'm* offended for Christians!!!

I doubt I'm alone. So, in attempting to diminish and demean, they instead reaffirm and reinforce the basics - if they were smart, they'd lay off Tebow etal, and focus on their "paragons" on the left!

The government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

If Maher had done that, ABC would be leading the pack to make him apologize or be fired!

Tebow

Submitted by Jersey Girl on Sun, 01/01/2012 - 4:26am.

I listen to WFAN on the radio in the middle of the night. I hear the host, Tony Page, gloating over the Bronco loss to Buffalo and hoping hoping hoping that Tebow does poorly.

There is something sick about those who fear those who honor their Lord. it seems that they would rather pretend to themselves that there is no higher power and they can live less than honorable lives without consequences.

Go back and look at the pictures side-by-side.

Submitted by Newsbubba on Sun, 01/01/2012 - 11:49am.

What struck me in the ABC clip were the pictures of Tebow and Maher side-by-side. That pretty much sums up the difference between the two for me.

Ask yourself which of these two people (I hesitate to say "men" because that includes Maher) would you rather have watching your back in a life or death matter?

Tebow is, and looks like, a strong, forthright, standup guy who would go to the mat to help a friend or anyone else in true need.

Maher is, and, boy, does he look like, a worthless, piece of crap who would turn and run at the first sign of danger to himself, much less you! Would you put your life in his chicken Shiite hands? That's the true test.

To paraphrase one of my favorite Generals, "Why anyone would follow this bastard,(or even be around him) except out of sheer curiosity, is beyond me."

Bill Maher

is one of the many non-talented mouthpieces on the Anything But Classy network. He is too irrelevant to watch or listen to. His complete lack of character is evident in his filthy tweet about Tim Tebow.
