ABC Skips Subpoena of Obama Emails on Solyndra Funding
Thursday's World News on ABC skipped the congressional decision to subpoena White House emails related to the Solyndra solar energy company that went into bankruptcy after receiving tax dollars. The CBS Evening News gave the story 22 seconds, while the NBC Nightly News included a 31-second news brief.
On CBS, anchor Scott Pelley related:
One cornerstone of President Obama's plan to jumpstart the economy is green energy, but today a House panel subpoenaed White House documents conerning Solyndra, the failed solar panel maker. The Obama administration gave the company more than half a billion dollars, but Solyndra filed for bankruptcy and laid off 1,100 workers.
And NBC anchor Brian Williams read the item:
The stage is set tonight for a potential constitutional showdown between the Obama White House and Congress after a congressional vote to subpoena internal White House emails, including those sent from the President's own Blackberry, related to that controversial half-billion-dollar taxpayer loan to Solyndra, the solar company that went bankrupt. Senior administration officials are signaling the White House is prepared to invoke executive privilege to keep those high-level emails private.

The Media

It's funny...The Morning Joe crew is railing against Herman Cain right now...making fun of him...and saying that candidates love to run against the media...yet the media NEVER treated Obama like this. Truly it is disgusting to see this happen. Whether one supports Herman Cain or not...let us see Joe Scarborough run for office...what type of skeletons would he have n his closet?!
type of skeletons

So true, Agnostic. Morning Shmoe's skeleton was literally found on the floor of his Congressional office but then promptly stuffed into closet, figuratively speaking.
Ted Kennedy was no doubt in admiration.

The 'most transparent' administration in US history is hiding the facts from the public and from Congress.

I am actually surprised anyone reported this at all.
No details at all though.
Some un-named woman came out and said Herman held the door for her 15 years ago and she thinks he looked at her backside while he may have been drunk.
Story AT 11:00 - no doubt with "details" and "speculation masked as details".

But they always find time to report Bush subpoenas!
Funny that.
ABC's World News reported on the June 13 subpoenas issued by the House and Senate judiciary committees to two former aides to President Bush, former counsel Harriet Miers and former political director Sara Taylor, for their testimony about the firings of former federal prosecutors.
During the June 13 broadcast of World News, ABC News legal correspondent Jan Crawford Greenburg described the issuance of the subpoenas as "the most significant clash between the White House and Congress since President Bush took office."
