NBC Highlights Anita Hill Speech at Georgetown University
Uniquely among the broadcast network evening newscasts, the NBC Nightly News on Thursday took a moment to recount an appearance by Brandeis University Professor Anita Hill commemorating the 20th anniversary of her Senate testimony making unsubstantiated accusations against Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas for sexually harassing her in the 1980s.
Anchor Brian Williams relayed Hill's contention that "her role in the hearings was worthwhile," before playing a clip of her asserting that her testimony "was not in vain." Below is a complete transcript of the segment from the Thursday, October 6, NBC Nightly News:
BRIAN WILLIAMS: And Anita Hill was back in Washington today, coming up on 20 years since those explosive hearings to confirm Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court. The hearings sparked a huge public debate in this country and changed the rules of the American workplace forever. Looking back on it today, she said her role in the hearings was worthwhile.
PROFESSOR ANITA HILL, BRANDEIS UNIVERSITY: I could not be happier than I am right now because I know that that testimony, no matter whatever anyone says, and no matter who sits on the bench today, I know that that testimony was not in vain.
WILLIAMS: Professor Anita Hill today at Georgetown in Washington.

Although ABC missed the 10th anniversary Clinton's disbarment

Although ABC (and the rest of our national MSM) surely missed the 10th anniversary of Clinton's disbarment(s) . . . (from Wikipedia - so difficult to find):
. . . I'm sure that we're all confident that they'll remember the historic events on the 20th anniversary.

Rules of American workplace changed forever? Really?

Williams: "The hearings sparked a huge public debate in this country and changed the rules of the American workplace forever."
The rules of the American workplace were changed forever? Really? I must have missed that part. And it doesn't appear that Williams bothered to enumerate them. A very impressive sounding statement, though. The implication being that Thomas was guilty as charged - and busted - and all sexist pig conservative men in the workplace were required to take heed / tone it down going forward.

Brian Williams is such a suckup to Obama and the left. I refuse to watch NBC News because this jerk is not a credible, objective journalist.

The federal law prohibiting

The federal law prohibiting sexual harassment in the workplace is Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, as amended.
So,what changed, Brian?
Hill made her accusation under existing law! No new law was created.
But that doesn't sound nearly as exciting.

20 years later, Justice Thomas is the best.... may we elect more people to the Supreme Court that actually support the constitution, instead of re-writing it. Just a small idea for those that have never read that great document.
Part of the Democrat effort to get Clarence Thomas to recuse.

The Democrats are absolutely desperate to force Clarence Thomas to recuse himself from the Obamacare case through filthy manipulation and lies. I think Victor David Hanson's recent analysis of the Democrat's argument is spot on - if Thomas has to recuse himself so does that idiot Elena Kagan because she was all but sleeping with the Obamacare position papers under her pillow.

himself because his wife is a conservative activist is like holding Hillary responsible for Bill's tryst with Monica and then lying about it. The DEMwits are simply trying to avoid the defeat of Obamacare because they know it is unconstitutional and Justice Thomas will surely be on the side of the constitution.

"I know that that testimony was not in vain." She makes no claim that it was truthful, which was always considered doubtful. But it wasn't in vain.
There must have been a memo from the White House

Oh that's a bunch of crap! Name a single "rule" that Hill "changed!" I dare you!
Stop trying to make this inconsequential woman into some type of Hero. She was a media darling, nothing more and nothing less. That makes her trivial.
