Behar: ‘Illiterate’ Palin Returns ‘Like Jock Itch,’ Guest Accuses Palin of ‘Anti-Semitic Jokes’
On Thursday’s Joy Behar Show on HLN, host Behar quipped that former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has returned "like jock itch," after playing a clip of Palin on Fox News Channel making fun of CBS anchor Katie Couric. Behar: "I give Sarah Palin credit. She's out of favor. She's out of the limelight. And then, suddenly, she's back like jock itch, and just as snarky as ever."
After commentary from her panel members for the segment, the HLN host ended up cracking that Palin is reminding people that she’s "illiterate" because the former Alaska governor also alluded to her own answer to Couric’s question about what she reads. Behar: "I think that she learned from being on Saturday Night Live that the way to reconstruct your image is to take the joke on yourself. But all she's doing is reminding us that she's illiterate."
Panel member and actor Josh Gad then oddly suggested that Palin has a history of making anti-Semitic jokes as he chimed in: "I miss her anti-Semitic jokes so much."
Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the segment from the Thursday, April 29, Joy Behar Show on HLN:
JOY BEHAR: Well, that didn’t take long. Just one day after Katie Couric officially announced she was stepping down from her anchor post at CBS, Sarah Palin mocked her departure in a Fox News interview. Take a look.
SARAH PALIN: Right, right, right, right, right. Yeah, I think I read that in a newspaper, one of many newspapers that I read online. Yeah, and I hear that she wants to now engage in more multi-dimensional story-telling, versus, I guess, just the straight-on, read-into-the-teleprompter-screen storytelling. So more power to her. I wish her well with her multi-dimensional storytelling.
BEHAR: You know, I give Sarah Palin credit. She's out of favor. She's out of the limelight. And then, suddenly, she's back like jock itch, and just as snarky as ever. Here with me to discus this and other stories in the news are comedian Judy Gold; Josh Gad, actor and star of the great Broadway musical Book of Mormon; and Rachel Sklar, editor at large for Mediaite.com. Judy, she is still holding a grudge, Sarah Palin.
JUDY GOLD, COMEDIAN: What is that, three years ago?
BEHAR: Let it go, Sarah.
GOLD: She probably read it in Cricket or the Daily Reader that Katie was, what I don't understand is we haven't heard from, you know, Sarah in a while, and then she comes back with something really thoughtful and intelligent. So that's great.
BEHAR: But she slams her for reading a teleprompter. Isn't that better than reading the notes off your hand?
GOLD: Exactly. Sarah Palin was a newscaster. What, is she supposed to memorize the news?
RACHEL SKLAR, MEDIATE: I think it's pretty funny that Sarah Palin is calling attention to the thing about which she was fully humiliated by Katie Couric. It was like, uh, nice try.
JOSH GAD, ACTOR: She essentially is mocking herself by saying, yeah, I read it on the Internet, and I read newspapers digitally. And you're like, no, you don't read anything, sweetie.
BEHAR: Well, she learned, I think that she learned from being on Saturday Night Live that the way to reconstruct your image is to take the joke on yourself. But all she's doing is reminding us that she's illiterate. (JUDY GOLD LAUGHS) Okay, next up-
GAD: I miss her anti-Semitic jokes so much.

That cracks me up, too. The left acts as if Palin crawled out from under a rock or something. Contrast this with their hero, Obama, who never truly had any real leadership experience prior to being elected president.

"Joyless" Beher - accusing someone else of being 'snarky'. That's a laugh for a start. Joyless is one of the meanest, most sarcastic, unpleasant, hostile and angry women who is (alas) in the media.
Note to libutard media: Yes. The 2012 election WILL be the most 'racist' in history. Because you will make it so. You're obsessed with advocating racism. You cower and cringe behind it, holding it over your heads like a shield. You chant racist bilge hourly as if it was a muslim prayer designed to ward off evil spirits. Racism is your bread, your butter, your creed, your life.
In spite of my outrage, I feel sorry for you. Slavery ended over a hundred years ago. But you refuse to repent of your pride, refuse to step into the world of freedom that has been open to you for decades. You willingly, eagerly shackle and enslave yourselves, brooding for revenge based on perceived injustices from an unreachable past.
You have my pity. You will live your entire lives in spiritual bondage unless you repent.

Never heard anti-Semitic
Submitted by tombaker on Fri, 04/29/2011 - 4:33pm.
Never heard anti-Semitic jokes out of Palin ever, or even the charge of it, talk about trying to create false facts.
That said, Palin made a real nitwitted buffoon out of herself with Greta, making faces, talking like a valley girl, and then being cat-ie about Katie. Talk about the essence of not being Presidential, she is down right juvenile. Ever since Couric (of all people) shredded her, Palin has been afraid to engage in any interviews with any reporters....except talking to co-workers from her current employer.
Anyone seeing that interview with her mugging it up yuck yuck yucking...should know another run for office would be a massive self-implosion. She may not have retreated, but when she reloads, she ends up shooting blanks. I can only imagine Palin goofing around in meetings with the Chinese or Russia, thinking herself to be witty.
So we again play the game of Palin whining about people mocking her for when she decided to mock others....poor little ol' Sara, don't be so tough on her, she will end up running away and quitting her job.
Just remember, when Sara quit, she said her replacement could do the job just as good as she could...quite true...Palin is a dime in a dozen Politician, oh so special, but don't say that because, because she will run around and be the victim.

Palin is a losing ticket, once before, and would be again. While I love the liberals going online to tout her up, in the hopes of getting her.....I just call it as it is.

Palin had to resign office,
Submitted by tombaker on Sun, 05/01/2011 - 7:16am.
Palin had to resign office, its just the fact of the matter. If she did not have to, she would not have. She spoke to her family, and they decided it was in her's and Alaska's best interest for Palin to retreat from her elect office. She reloaded, and gave up the ground, and bravely ran away.
I did not say she was forced out, not it the slightest, it was entirely her choice. Palin folded her cards, picked up herself, and walked away from the table. She said that Alaska would be fine without her, and that her replacement was as capable to carry on. Great for her.
As a person I think she is fine, I have a ton of respect for her pro-life position, and her keeping a child she understood would be challenged. I don't want a mama-grizzly, I want something more like an Australian sheep dog, who can rangle the herd.
As a Politician I think she does not have the skills to have a significant Executive position. Its called the Peter Principle, and she was maxed out.
There is nothing about a quitter that has ever made a Politician more capable or more likely to gain and succeed in higher office.
MD, I earnestly think you don't get the point, the country needs a capable leader who can hand the pressure and get things done. Palin could not do that in Alaska, as evidenced by her choice to resign. She could not handle the job in Alaska, and the General Election electorate will never vote for that level of skill to win. Palin is known to most of the country, she can not win a general, she already contributed heavily to a Republican loss.
But please explain the above question, as I suspected you can not rationalize them with any logic. Get over the denial, and stop the baby pouting that its PDS, its simple Palin vs Obama = an Obama win....and the only people advocating that are the libs. Some of the biggest online supporters of Palin, are libs...don't ya know?

If that is the way you want to play it, no skin off my nose.
You talk smack, which is fine for building up your sense of righteousness; but it doesn't say much for your honesty in just plain admitting your dislike.
Instead, you slip in statements like "she already contributed heavily to a Republican loss."
That is not only patently untrue; it is an outright lie.
McCain would not have done as well as he did without Palin on the ticket.
As I said, you refuse to man up and admit that you not only merely give backhanded compliments to Palin as cover, but that you dislike her and will not own up.
You talk yourself in circles: First sentence - "Palin had to resign office, it's just the fact of the matter."
and then: "--as evidenced by her choice to resign."
You state "She could not handle the job in Alaska" , and then give nothing substantial to support the statement.
It is merely your opinion.

I will assume that you missed her interview lowbrow sophomoric interview with Greta...for the 3rd time, explain to us all, how a Governor who resigned office, is going to gain higher office? I asked more detailed above, but you just duck and duck the question.
You want to get all embroiled in semantics? Fine
She ate.
She had to eat.
One describes a simple act, the other conveys that it is necessary. Saying she had to resign simply reflects that there was a need....a catalyst the made the event necessary.
She was not forced out. The circumstances became such that Palin choose that it was in her best interest to resign office, due to various pressures which would all be the same and far greater if Palin would be president.
Palin folded as Governor, and it would be a tough argument to say she would not fold as POTUS. Certianly you have not tried to make it.
When someone quits and walks away from an elected office mid-way through the term, why is that? Because she could handle the rigors? NO. Because she could not handle the pressures and be effective.
For some reason you need me to hate Palin...sorry I don't. And I said, as far as bravely standing on pro-life and keeping a child who was known to be most likely to have disabilities as determined prior to birth...well how can anyone not respect that mothership.
She is a fine person, but she is a deeply flawed candidate. If she want to lecture fine, make money on Fox, fine, sell books and reality TV....all great. But her belief that she has anything to offer voters for President is a stretch. She is unable to handle the media, she was a drag on the ticket, she became a laughing stock, a good politician avoids that.
She can regurgitate talking points fine....ideas are easy....doing it is hard.....and there we go again....she punted the ball, walked away, and abandoned her Governorship. She folded.
If you want to bet money on person who already folded their cards....you are a fool. PT Barnum does love you however.

as again you go on and on about your perception of Palin's shortcomings, and insist I answer questions for you about the possibilities of a political future for the woman.
As I have stated already, I don't have any concerns, cares, or worries about what Palin may or may not do, what she is or is not qualified to do, politically or otherwise, for the rest of her life.
Palin seems a nice enough person, but I don't feel any compelling need to support her should she plan to run again for office at the national level.
I have no idea how she would do as the elected occupant of the Oval Office; and neither do you, though that certainly doesn't slow you down any when bringing up how you think she would behave based on her past.
It is all guesswork on your part; as one move in a person's past cannot in any way be certified as dictating precisely how they will conduct themselves in future circumstances.
My whole point has been, all along, to point out the considerable lengths you go to in order to bad mouth the woman, and then do your mealy-mouthed bullsh*t about not disliking her; thinking you have successfully discovered a means of camouflaging your true feelings.
Obviously, you haven't done very well in that regard, as far as convincing others, because you continue to come across as a proponent of whizzing on someone and telling them it is raining.

Since we now have a "jock itch" thread...and Brent Bozell posted a "crotch" thread earlier....I have to post this silly joke I got the other day. Don't yell at me....the Devil Made Me Do It!
A woman from Los Angeles who was a tree hugger, and a liberal Democrat, and furthermore, an anti-hunting advocate, purchased a piece of timberland near Colville , WA .
There was a large tree on one of the highest points in the tract. She wanted a good view of the natural splendor of her land so she started to climb the big tree.
As she neared the top, she encountered a spotted owl that attacked her. In her haste to escape, the woman slid down the tree to the ground and got many splinters in her crotch. (Oh my!)
In considerable pain, she hurried to a local ER to see a doctor. She told him she was an environmentalist, a democrat, and an anti-hunting advocate, and how she came to get all the splinters.
The doctor listened to her story with great patience and then told her to go wait in the examining room and he would see if he could help her. She sat and sat, and waited three hours before the doctor reappeared.
The angry woman demanded, "What took you so long?"
He smiled and then told her, "Well, I had to get permits from the Environmental Protection Agency, the Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management before I could remove old-growth timber from a "recreational area" so close to a waste treatment facility.
I'm sorry, but due to Obama Care they turned me down."
P.S. It was one of my non-American friends, from Costa Rica, who sent me this joke. He says there are a zillion ex-pats there now, and not one has a nice word to say about Obama. We heard that in Mexico, too. If even the socialistic loving Central Americans now hate Obama, it is time for TOAST!
