Justin Bieber Refuses to Meet Israeli Children Who Escaped Bus Bombing

By Brad Wilmouth | April 13, 2011 | 02:20

According to the Haaretz article, "Netanyahu Cancels Bieber Date Over Refusal to Meet Kids Affected by Gaza Rockets," Barak Ravid recounts reports that Canadian singer Justin Bieber declined to meet children who narrowly escaped being hit by rocket fire as they exited an Israeli school bus shortly before it was hit several weeks ago. A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured in the attack.

The children had been invited to an already scheduled meeting between Bieber and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as the prime minister sought to draw attention to the plight of children living in Israeli towns near the Gaza Strip which have in recent months come under increased fire from rockets launched by Palestinian terrorists.

According to Haaretz, Netanyahu canceled the meeting after his attempt to include the children was turned down.

Ravid reported:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has canceled his date with pop sensation Justin Bieber over the singer's refusal to meet with children living in communities affected by Gaza rocket fire, Channel Two reported on Tuesday. The prime minister was scheduled to host the young singer at his office in Jerusalem on Wednesday evening, before Bieber's Thursday night concert.

The Haaretz reporter continued:

Taking advantage of the PR opportunity presented by the meeting with Bieber, Netanyahu's advisers invited a group of children from communities near the Gaza border to attend. The children had disembarked from a school bus just before it was hit by a Hamas rocket last Thursday, critically wounded a teen and moderately wounding the bus driver. Bieber reportedly refused to meet the children, which led Netanyahu to cancel the meeting.

Yes he's just a kid and he knows nothing, they all are in that business just mindless butterfly's floating through life, only some aren't as young as this one. But it's sounds like he's received the proper indoctrination. I hope no one show's up at his concert, and I'd be thrilled if he were barred from the country. How's that for a reaction.

Agree: GIGO (garbage in garbage out). They should put fancy briefcase in his room that has a button inside labeled "Press button to launch PLO rockets into evil Israeli settlements." See if he presses.

Doubt that very seriously

Submitted by Iron Tigers Vet on Wed, 04/13/2011 - 7:46am.

The little twit is just like the rest of these liberal taught kids.  Brainwashed at an early age and then told what to do by agents, parents and the ignorance of the biased left wing media.

He could have done the right thing and met up with them and showed a decent side, instead backed out of it.

Bet he will be praised by the media for his "stand up" attitude to not do that.

Break a leg Bieber...

He had no problem playing a racist on "Glee" or running down America in a recent interview. I'm sure he doesn't want to offend his hollywood liberal friends. Please spare me the "he's just a kid line".
He's smart enough to want their money.

Look at the kid's hair-do. That should be enough to tell you he does what his handlers tell him to do. I doubt he has much in the way of self direction.

Submitted by jon_torlin on Wed, 04/13/2011 - 9:02am.

Bieber's Canadian, I thought.

I think Netanyahu was just trying to cheer some kids up and thought Bieber would be gracious enough to do so.  If I had been Netanyahu, I would have done the same thing.  If the kid(or his handlers, the ones who are supposed to give him a clue) had any smarts, he should have done so, it'd be great PR for him.(others have done so to their advantage)  Instead, he comes across as a stuck up snot nosed twit and damages (further?) his reputation.

What's the point?

Submitted by andrew - des moines on Wed, 04/13/2011 - 8:41am.

This NB item is supposed to mean just what? Justin Bieber may well be indoctrinated into anti-Israeli thought, but without more information this should not even be suggested. And a story on NB about a pop singer's schedule is just that -- subtly suggesting Bieber is anti-Israel. This is the type of journalism the NYT tried to implement against McCain in suggesting he had an affair. There is plenty of anti-semitic / anti-Israel craziness begging for attention on the Left, why not cover a real story with facts that point to real conclusions.

Ah, but the Administration hates them. Here's an ally surrounded by enemies and Obama cuts of weapon shipments. I was hoping Bush would have sent them some F22s before he was out but that's a tough one to pull off.

'Tis true.  His Majesty The Shahinshah hates Israel.  But people in the country still care about Israel, hence the story is important.

I'm with you on the F-22s.  The IDF could have combat-tested them for us.  :o)
