On ABC, Daily Beast’s Avlon Complains ‘Obama Derangement Syndrome on the Right’ Has ‘Gotten Worse’

By Brad Wilmouth | March 07, 2011 | 00:24

A  A

On the Sunday, March 6, Good Morning America on ABC, as the Daily Beast’s John Avlon appeared as a guest to make predictions about which Republicans will ultimately choose to run for President, he ended up complaining that "Obama Derangement Syndrome" has recently "gotten worse" and "deserves to be called out" because it is "divisive" and "unnecessary."

Host Dan Harris asked Avlon about his recent criticisms of Republicans: "I know you're no stranger to the Republican Party. You used to be the chief speech writer for Rudy Giuliani when he was the mayor of New York City. You’ve been pretty critical - I would say scathingly critical - of the type of rhetoric Republican, potential Republican candidates have been using against the current President, Mr. Obama. Why?"

Avlon began his response:

Well, because, look, I think there's no question that the Obama Derangement Syndrome on the right was preceded by a Bush Derangement Syndrome on the left, but it’s gotten worse. We’ve seen this sort of anti rhetoric saying that President Obama is somehow anti-American or un-American bubbling up to the upper reaches of the presidential campaign. And that deserves to be called out. It's divisive. It's unnecessary.

He then continued:

And it’s really begun to take some notice. Even George Will recently said that there have been "vibrations of weirdness" from the Republican field, and I think that's fair. I think when folks try to divide the country to raise themselves up, it was worth calling them out, needs to be done.

They got nothing to complain about after "Palin derangement syndrome" and the way the Left has attacked not only her but her family as well.

Divisive? Really?

Submitted by jon_torlin on Mon, 03/07/2011 - 1:18am.

So these news libs seem to think they have the monopoly on "divisive" when trying to describe Bush and the (non) stuff he's done that they accuse him of, but turn a blind eye when the Chairman is actually doing the things and far much worse that violate the oath to the Constitution?(not that I ever believed for a second that he would follow it, even regardless of his recent claim of defending the 2nd Amendment)

There are several dictionary references to the word "derangement" but they all have one thing in common, be it "insanity" or "disorder and confusion."  Well, guess what, we see very clearly what the Chairman is doing, what he's up to.  History has taught us those lessons that the libs ignore at their own peril.  No, the insanity is allowing this insanity to continue.

I refuse to call it the 'Obama Derangement Syndrome'. I'd rather call it the 'TRUTH'!!!  If this queebie, or anybody else, can convince me that Boy Barry is just a poser with a mediocre IQ, and even LESS common sense, as well as being a communist and a Marxist, along with being anti-American..........then I will gladly entertain their delusional beliefs, and then I'll tell them to get the hell out of my face!!!

This woosy-assed wimp is a psuedo conservative and Republican who has sold out to the Make-It-Up-Media, in an effort to gain his own '15 minutes of fame'..........F**k him!!!!!

The MSM Has Had It's Own Syndrome

Submitted by Boil It Down on Mon, 03/07/2011 - 2:47am.

The Obama derangement syndrome on the left is getting pretty out of control, as evidenced by Chris Matthews and his ilk's behavior of late. After all, what do you call the baseless adoration they've showered on Obama all this time? What aobut the groveling defense of Obama's frequent blunders? The shameless worship of this very flawed man indicates a weakness in their character that cannot be denied. These things demonstrate more derangement than could be laid at the feet of the great majority of Obama's opposition.

What you need my boy is some perspective.  This is something that those who try to cling to their Dogma and Propaganda do not like because it makes it hard to hide their bitterness.

Divisive???? Oh, No!!!

Submitted by motherbelt on Mon, 03/07/2011 - 7:42am.

We can't have that in a presidential campaign!!

We must all be united as we re-elect Mr. Obama!!

I think when folks try to divide the country to raise themselves up, it was worth calling them out, needs to be done.

OK.  I hereby call out Mr. Obama for calling Republicans enemies and saying they gotta sit in the back seat.  Also for accusing them of racism.  That's just downright divisive.

When he apologizes for his own divisiveness, Mr.Avlon, then we can talk.

This Avlon character caught

Submitted by celator on Mon, 03/07/2011 - 11:28am.

This Avlon character caught my eye some time ago. He's an occasional co-host on WABC's John Batcheler's show, and recently hosted the show in John's absence. He spent a very long time with some fellow lefty media knuckle dragger on a full blown, no holds barred attack on--you guessed it--Sarah Palin. Oh, they were laughing and chortling and congratulating each other on how brilliant people like them were so far above Palin and her supporters.

In the end, the permanently creepy elitist Avlon is a perfect fit for Tina Brown's The Daily Beast.

In the circus world of the MSM, it's interesting to note that Newsweek and The Daily Beast are merged into one company called The Newsweek Daily Beast Company, established in Nov 2010, as I rememeber. You just can't make that stuff up.

Oh yea, the music changes a bit, but the dance steps are the same.

Submitted by ds7 on Mon, 03/07/2011 - 12:46pm.

always remember...the left "owns" the legacy media.  the best defense against any of their propaganda is to not purchase their newspapers/magazines/books or watch their TV shows.

with the internet, talk radio, and FOX news we no longer are subject to their twisted world view.  if you miss their idiocy, log on to newsbusters and give it a quick read.

the truth has no agenda...
