Roseanne Barr: Palin is 'Slave to Right-Wing Men,' 'Against All Other Women'

Friday's Joy Behar Show on CNN Headline News showed a pre-recorded interview with Roseanne Barr in which Barr opined that, although Sarah Palin is "likable," the "stuff she says is half nuts," and she's "half crazy and out of her mind." Barr -- who herself has a recent history of doing such bizarre things as appearing in Heeb magazine dressed as Adolf Hitler removing Jewish gingerbread cookies from an oven -- went on to declare that Palin is "like a slave to these, you know, right-wing men. That’s like the only way a right-wing woman can make it."

Barr soon added: "The only way a woman can make it in the right wing, or the conservative, whatever the hell you want to call it, Republican, is to be against all other women. And that is what she does."

Ironically, just moments later as she and Behar expressed disapproval at the man who recently threw tomatoes at Palin, Barr was critical of liberals who have treated the former Alaska governor "badly because she's female," calling it "disgusting." Barr: "I don’t like where she is treated like badly because she’s female. I think that’s so wrong, and I think the left and the liberals are disgusting to do that."

Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the Friday, December 11, Joy Behar Show on CNN Headline News:

JOY BEHAR, IN PRE-RECORDED INTERVIEW: Now, what do you think of Sarah Palin?

ROSEANNE BARR: Well, I think she’s really likable, you know, I think, you know, that’s a little scary because the stuff she says is half nuts. She’s half crazy and out of her mind. But she’s likable. And a lot of us know people like that. But I have this feeling, if you and me took her out and we got her, you know, drinking and talking, we could turn her.

BEHAR You think so?

BARR: I do. I think – I do – because I think she’s a – I do – she’s like a slave to these, you know, right-wing men. That’s like the only way a right-wing woman can make it, you know.

BEHAR: Really? You think so? I mean, she seems to make herself.

BARR: The only way a woman can make it in the right wing, or the conservative, whatever the hell you want to call it, Republican, is to be against all other women. And that is what she does.

BEHAR: I see.

BARR: So if me and you got her and we’d be like telling her the truth, we’d take her out to drink, we’d go like this: Now, you got to be for women, see? You’ve got to be for women. And I think we could turn her. I think she’s never really talked to a real feminist. And I think, you know, I think she’d -- she’s not happy in her marriage.

BEHAR: How do you know?

BARR: Because you could tell.

BEHAR: Well, her faux-son-in-law says that they have separate bedrooms. I don’t know if it’s true or not.

BARR: Did you love the interview in Vanity Fair with that guy?

BEHAR: He told a lot of stuff, but you don’t know if it’s true or not.

BARR: You could tell it’s true she goes through her bedroom with the Star and the Enquirer for hours. She’s that kind of woman. She’s likable. That’s like us.

BEHAR: Yeah, we can relate to her.

BARR: Yeah, but we have to go, "Dude, you’re on the wrong side of things here."

BEHAR: But, you know, I don’t like what happened to her this week at a recent book signing. A man threw two tomatoes at her.

BARR: That’s disgusting.

BEHAR: That I don’t like.

BARR: I don’t either.

BEHAR: Because it’s like if they’re going to throw tomatoes at her, they’ll throw tomatoes at me and you also.

BARR: Well, any woman.

BEHAR: Any woman who says something they don’t like.

BARR: I don’t like where she is treated like badly because she’s female. I think that’s so wrong, and I think the left and the liberals are disgusting to do that.

BEHAR: Yeah, but we’re not voting for her until she becomes a true feminist.

BARR: We gotta, we gotta wise her up and take her out.

BEHAR: We gotta wise her up, but let’s go moose-hunting with her.

BARR, LAUGHING: I don’t, I don’t-

BEHAR, BACK ON LIVE: I kind of like that moose-hunting idea. Then again, do I really want to be around Sarah Palin when she’s packing heat? (STARTS WHISPERING) I don’t think so.
