O’Reilly Slams Law & Order Dialogue Comparing Him, Limbaugh, to ‘Cancer’ Inciting Violence

On Thursday’s The O’Reilly Factor, FNC host Bill O’Reilly slammed Dick Wolf, the left-wing executive producer of NBC's Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, because Wednesday's episode – featuring a killer who targeted the children of illegal immigrants – contained dialogue of a character blaming conservatives like O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, and Glenn Beck for inciting violence against immigrants.

O’Reilly showed a clip of dialogue from the show in which left-wing lawyer Randall Carver -- played by John Larroquette -- made a comparison between a racist conservative talk show host character -- named Gordon Garrison -- and real-life conservative talk show hosts. Larroquette: "Garrison, Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly, all of them, they are like a cancer spreading ignorance and hate. I mean, they’ve convinced folks that immigrants are the problem, not corporations that fail to pay a living wage or a broken health care system."

Below is a transcript of the relevant portion of the Thursday, December 10, The O'Reilly Factor on FNC:

BILL O’REILLY: Law and Order out of control: That is the subject of this evening's "Talking Points Memo." Law and Order is run by a far-left guy named Dick Wolf who often uses the program to promote his progressive point of view. A recent Law and Order: SVU featured a guy killing children, kids of illegal immigrants and Wolf approved this piece of dialogue.

SENIOR DETECTIVE ODAFIN TUTUOLA, PLAYED BY ICE-T: I don't get why you’re defending this wacko.

RANDALL CARVER, PLAYED BY JOHN LARROQUETTE: I think it’s a symptom, not the disease.

TUTUOLA: That symptom killed three kids.

CARVER: Garrison, Limbaugh, Beck, O'Reilly, all of them, they are like a cancer spreading ignorance and hate. I mean, they’ve convinced folks that immigrants are the problem, not corporations that fail to pay a living wage or a broken health care system.

TUTUOLA: Save the soap box, man, the cameras are not even running.

O'REILLY: That is simply defamatory and outrageous, and Dick Wolf is a coward for putting it out there. He’s also a liar. I have consistently defended poor people who only want a better life.

After showing clips from past episodes of The O'Reilly Factor in which O'Reilly spoke sympathetically about the motivations of illegal immigrants who come to America because of poverty, the FNC host continued:

O'REILLY: Now, if you watch the Factor, you know my beef is with the federal government not controlling illegal immigration, and with violent aliens who wreak havoc once they get here. Again, Dick Wolf, the executive producer of Law and Order is a despicable human being. Despicable for distorting and exploiting this very complicated issue.
