Tonight, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann will once again get to do his Countdown show on the NBC network. A frequent and harsh critic of President Bush, especially regarding the Iraq war, Olbermann has used his Countdown show on MSNBC to regularly attack the President whom he has called an "Idiot-in-Chief" and a "fascist." Olbermann has also branded the Republican party as a "terrorist group" that tries to scare Americans into voting for them. The MSNBC host is celebrating the fifth anniversary of his Countdown show, and, on Thursday's program, he closed the show previewing Sunday's NBC special:
KEITH OLBERMANN: Countdown for this the 1,792nd day since the declaration of "Mission Accomplished" in Iraq. Please remember the fifth anniversary program. We get to celebrate by working this weekend. Whose idea was that? Countdown on NBC this Sunday, 7:00 Eastern and 6:00 Central. I'm Keith Olbermann, good night and good luck.

Olbermann
March 30, 2008 - 12:24 ET by iveseenitallThis guy Olberman is the poster boy for the incompetence and ignorance which passes for "journalism" in America today. His adolescent mentality is displayed every time he is on the air. He's a sad reminder of what has happened to this nation. Ignorance is bliss at NBC.

I bet his contract has him working so many days a year. He doesn't bother going to work and spends the day in the bathtub on the days when there is big news about lying, corruption, racist comments on faltering Democrat-ic presidential candidates. So he gets to put in the lost time on the weekends.

March 30, 2008 - 11:21 ET by Redrowan2000I guess if NBC can put Olbermann up in front of the American public spewing his hate America First propaganda, than they shouldn't complain when Hussein is questioned about his 20 year relationship with the racist hatemonger Wright or his wifes anti -American statements and his whole casual attitude at the national anthem and telling people that wear American flag pins that they aren't true patriots. Also they won't mind the coverage that Clinton has in California where a pending campaign fraud case is quietly being swept under the carpet. Keith Olbermann is a rationale for having the swiftboaters the only difference is they have never been disproved and with Olbermann facts and truth take a holiday.

Shuck's, I thought NBC
March 30, 2008 - 11:58 ET by BlazerShuck's, I thought NBC would at least wait until thier Olympics coverage till' they tried to force Keith down everyones throats, then they would at least have a semi-captive audience, like during NFL night games.
Everytime this shmuck utter's "good night and goodluck" he just proves how un-original, and un-inventive he is, no wonder the left loves him.
I guess getting his butt kicked by Bill O' every night in rating's isn't enough for him, now he want's to go head to head and get smoked by King Of The Hill, American Dad, and America's Funniest Home Video repeat's.

March Madness???
March 30, 2008 - 12:12 ET by txcoThis show will take March Madness to the literal level.....!!!
It is possible...
March 31, 2008 - 11:21 ET by heldmywThat they're grooming Olby to go head-to-head with CBS' powerhouse... Katie Couric.
I mean Keef is perky too! Right?
Why? CBS is in third
March 31, 2008 - 11:22 ET by balboaWhy? CBS is in third place.
I don't understand this at all
March 30, 2008 - 12:24 ET by JnobleSeriously....Let's be logical about this...the reason networks produce shows is to get an audience large enough to sustain the advertisors and one hand washes the other..If a show doesn't get a large following, especially in prime-time, it's a money loser and will eventually get cancelled for something else. That's ALWAYS the way the TV market works.
So, after five years of dismal ratings and a host who is an embarassment to even some liberals...
WHY IS THIS SHOW STILL ON THE AIR?!?!?!?!?
BATH-TUB-BOY...
March 31, 2008 - 07:25 ET by danybhoyI have wondered about why he's still on the air as well. I've wondered what he has on who, I'm not about kooky conspriracy theories, but I am at my wits end as to why he still has a job. While he pulls the best number ratings wise at MSNBC, he still gets his @$$ handed to him by O'Reilly day in, day out. At some point you would think there would be wholesale changes there.
Same thing goes for Mathews & Abrams, neither of those 2 are worth the airtime they get, Abrams show is in about it's 8th makeover, NOTE TO MSNBC/NBC-NEWS/GENERAL ELECTRIC: No matter what you do, Dan Abrams will never be a ratings success. He will always be like a 20 lb bag of manure...except that his rating will not grow like the way manure helps other things grow, & I would guess he uses soap & smells better then manure. That being said, like manure, Abrams show is crap. NBC should cut their losses show more reruns of "To catch a predator".

I'm not defending Keith
March 30, 2008 - 13:51 ET by Cureboy675I'm not defending Keith Olbermann, because I know his ratings aren't as high as his competition. But that ratings links were for the major networks, not cable. And those ratings just mean that millions of mindless Americans are obsessed with finding out who the next American Idol will be :)
I was referring to him
March 30, 2008 - 19:11 ET by OldSailor88I was referring to him being on NBC. MSNBC is even farther behind in the cable ratings. They had one spike on the 26th, but other than that, they are consistently number 3 or 4 in cable news too.

Boy, I bet people will be setting their alarms...
March 30, 2008 - 12:32 ET by PrairieSkyso they don't miss this one!!! MSNBC must be really desperate for ratings if they feel that an Olbermann "Anniversary" show is warranted or wanted. All this does is give them yet another opportunity for no one to watch their pathetic channel.
They think that they're raising him up...
March 30, 2008 - 13:16 ET by Army BratWhen in fact, they're dragging what's left of NBC down to his level.
Happy Trails...
I agree- But you know...
March 30, 2008 - 13:27 ET by PrairieSkyI think that the realization of what MSNBC has become is totally lost on the chiefs at the network, because they are the same yutzes that gave Olbertwit his show, and they are the ones that continue to promote him and the other like-minded goons over there such as Chris Matthews and Mika Brzezinski. Amazingly and obviously, this is what those in charge at MSNBC (and NBC in general), want.
Olbermann is confirmation
March 30, 2008 - 13:49 ET by usinkoreaOlbermann is confirmation that the news media in this country has become completely bankrupt.
It is just one big step away from putting George Stephanopoulos in at This Week and moving the already liberal hosts (Donaldson and Roberts) out. That event was the one that finally broke me from the press. How could you possibly think that is a good idea ---- if "unbiased" news coverage is the ideal of your profession????

It will be a Countdown the likes of which we have never seen...with men in white coats, straight jacket included hauling him away on a stretcher... ha ha.... ho ho.... he he...

Olby ride at Universal Studios
March 30, 2008 - 19:42 ET by nkviking75You have to wonder if Olbermutt has some compromising pictures of a bigwig at GE.
Say, since NBC is part of Universal, how about an Olbermann ride at Universal Studios? Everyone climbs into his enormous head through his big mouth. Then it spins you 'til you puke.

March 31, 2008 - 11:04 ET by theduck6Now that truely made my day. I almost spit my coffee on the screen.
Keith had a potentially career ending meltdown for every name you cited. He's an unoriginal bag of hot air who's only on the air because he's saying what the MSM wants to hear.
