Gene Simmons: Obama ‘Unqualified,’ Rick Perry Will Win in 2012

By AWR Hawkins | August 19, 2011 | 14:59

A  A

On June 15th I had a post on Big Hollywood detailing Gene Simmons’ admission not simply that he voted for Obama, but that he wanted his vote back. It was during an interview on Fox Business’ Varney & Co. that Simmons stated clearly: “[Obama] is unqualified.” (He went to refer to Obama’s foreign policy toward Israel as “lunacy” and to deride Obama’s furtherance of the nanny state mentality via government handouts.)

Now, Simmons has upped the ante by predicting “The next president will be Gov. Rick Perry.” (Mind you, Obama is running for re-election, so this is tantamount to saying Perry is going to beat Obama in 2012.)

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

Simmons has also intimated that he will be voting for Perry, inasmuch as he said the candidates for whom he votes always win: “I voted for Pres Bush. I voted for Pres Clinton. I voted for Pres Obama… [Gov. Perry] will be our next President. I’ve never been wrong”

(I don’t want to be too picky, but Simmons was technically wrong when he bought into Obama’s “hope and change” mantra. Still, we won’t hold that against him because he’s not only seen the light, but is actually shining the light on the world right now.)

Besides his voting record, Simmons has another political feather in cap that gives his prediction a little more gravitas – in 2010 he predicted that the Tea Party would usher in “major change” during the mid-term elections.

He was certainly right on that one.

Simmons can spit blood, blow fire, and rock with the best of them (I still roll my windows down and crank up the radio every time “Calling Dr. Love” comes across the airwaves). And when the makeup is off, Simmons has proven to have a deep love for America and a genuine concern about the direction in which Obama is pushing us.

Gene Simmons

Submitted by AgentAmerican on Fri, 08/19/2011 - 3:23pm.

Geddy Lee said in Rush's documentary "Beyond The Lighted Stage" that Kiss was a band that worked hard to give fans their money's worth, hence they went over the top with the make up and pyrotechnics, with catchy songs to back all of it up. Gene Simmons and his friends were honest and up front about their ambitions. He doesn't mince words when he's honest. The man tells it like it is.

He was in a short segment on Conan's old Late Night show called "Secrets"...and simply let his audience know what it was without flinching..."Bl*w j*bs."

"Occupy this...I dare you."

Star status people, including pols, really don't have down-to-earth understandings.
Therefore whatever they say is a distorted opinion.

There's also no way of confirming what Simmons says . . .

. . . even if it did matter.

At best, Simmons is as significant as the octopus that kept picking the World Cup game winners, and only slightly better looking.

Don't expect Barbara Streisand, Rob Reiner, or Steven Spielberg to abandon Obama, and they'll raise a lot more money for him.

Gene Simmons is a businessman of not a little success

Submitted by Dave. on Fri, 08/19/2011 - 9:14pm.

He is an Israeli immigrant who loves and appreciates the opportunities this country has afforded him.

He might not be in the exact same vein as a Ted Nugent, but he isn't very far from it.

If I recall my history, his mother and an uncle were the only two members of his family to survive the Holocaust.

And Rush's Geddy Lee (whose parents met at Auschwitz) was right:

Kiss, whether you like them or not, has always had a very strong work ethic.

That may have a lot to do with why Kiss, as well as Rush, are still around today.

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 08/20/2011 - 1:33am.

Gene Simmons is an entrepenuer and capitalist extrodinaire, and he's a straight guy who has always kept his focus and his drive for succes - which has been pretty damn good. I know about his dalliances........hell, the guy is in the rock'n'roll world!!! You can make whatever judgements you want about that...........I'm just making my own conclusions from what he has accomplished - and I"m not a big KISS fan, musically or theatrically, but that is immaterial to this conversation.

And he admits to being 'hoodwinked' (my new favorite word to use on Boy Barry........because of it's 'racist' overtones!!!) by the hype and chains of the Obama spin machine............and now he has seen the light!! Maybe he's being targeted lately - since he IS a 'rich guy' - by the REGIME, for NOT paying his fair share!!! Hell, I guarantee you that KISS has employed a LOT of people over the years, and kept a LOT of people working!!! Can Boy Blunder say the same thing - for his WHOLE LIFE?????
